Akihiro Ehara stands accused of groping a woman on a crowded train. A bystander’s video footage of his attempt to flee the scene and subsequent apprehension is all over the news, and public outcry demands a maximum sentence. “Three days ago, a dead body was found in an abandoned building in Yokohama. Have you identified it yet?” he proclaims as confusion cuts through the court room. His defense lawyer, Saori Shirosaki, has no doubt that crucial details of the situation have been overlooked, as Ehara was not even tried for the murder. She contacts detective Takayuki Yagami to investigate this further.

How could Ehara have committed two crimes at once? Was the sexual battery just a cover up? Has Ehara gamed the entire justice system? As victims surface and Yagami digs farther into the truth, he is faced with a question: Defend the law, or enact justice?

From just a single stumble, one can become a monster…

BRINGING JUSTICE AT THE EDGE OF THE LAW

Put Yagami’s distinct martial arts forms to the test in order get to the bottom of the case. Harness the Crane, Tiger, and new Snake stance, a graceful style that can deflect and return an opponent’s strikes, using their energy against them.

    EVERYONE’S GOT A STORY

Employ Yagami’s arsenal of detective tricks with new gadgets, stealthily tracking suspects, and crafty methods of infiltration. Leave no stone unturned in pursuit of the truth as you take on cases in both Tokyo and Yokohama.

Lost Judgement is in my eyes a superb addition to the Yakuza series and is jam-packed with content. The graphics are great, the voice acting is great and the amount of activities that will distract you from the main quest is mind-blowing. It used the same formula which made its predecessors so much fun to play and improved on it. Even as dark and gruesome as the main story is there is always something around the corner in this game to put a smile back on your face.

Yakuza games have been arriving thick and fast over the years, but Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio still hasn't lost its touch. It's hard to think of another series with such regular entries that manages to constantly evolve at this level. While most don't add too much to alter the formula, Lost Judgment throws just about everything it can into its world without feeling over-saturated. With the main story, side quests, school stories, mini-games, exploration and other distractions, it's hard not to be impressed with what's on display. There's still an element of hold handing in the detective sections we'd love to see worked on and the lip-syncing may not be the best, but the team's first attempt at delivering a simultaneous worldwide release for the series is a gamble that has paid off and perhaps offers the best entry in the franchise so far.

Lost Judgment is a phenomenal improvement over its prequel and becomes a must-have for all Yakuza series fans out there.

Lost Judgment is a good sequel to an amazing predecessor. The fighting system is fun, the mission design is very diverse, and you can still put hours into entertaining optional stuff within the vast open world. There is just one thing that makes a huge difference. Takayuki Yagami's new case is not in the least as personal and captivating as his first one. That doesn't make Lost Judgment a bad game, but it makes it clearly stand behind the first part of the spin-off series.

Lost Judgment is a great mystery game with the signature Yakuza flair. If you're a fan, or even if you're not, you'll have a fun time with this game despite its dark subject matter.

If nothing else, Lost Judgment proves it would be a great shame if he didn't get another opportunity to find his niche. [Issue#365, p.112]

Lost Judgment is a bittersweet event. The story aims for a mature tone but is too often a macabre, morbid misfire that strays too far from the balance between silly and serious that the series is famed for. It's not a poorly developed title, though; the outrageously brilliant combat and sandbox distractions are clear evidence of that. It just struggles to tell the sort of meaningful, believable and sensitively weighted story that players have come to expect from this talented team.

10/10 for me, I loved every minute of the lost judgment story, it shows how in this world of shadows and light the truth can be hidden, but10/10 for me, I loved every minute of the lost judgment story, it shows how in this world of shadows and light the truth can be hidden, but there is a brave detective who delves into a case that Japanese justice ignores, In lost judgment, every action the characters take has consequences. The game is not perfect, it has its problems but the good things it has make the negative a small problem. The combat is so dynamic that it gives you the freedom to do many things including juggling combos, many minigames that are a refreshing addition to isezaki ijincho as it makes the city feel alive with the activities you can do. The detective system is not that challenging and does not penalize you at all if you make a mistake but it gives you satisfaction with extra points when you solve a case without making a mistake. highly recommended. You also do not have to play Judgment to play Lost Judgment since the story is written in such a way that you do not feel lost if you did not play the previous one, which I still recommend that you play Expand

I'm a big fan of the yakuza style of game play, mix that with a cool story and fast combat and it's a win for me. I highly recommend playing this.

Compared with the previous generation, the plot is not meticulous enough. In some places (especially the ending), it is very stiff, but the combat system has evolved greatly and the narrative has maintained a consistent level.

Great side missions although I'm not a big fan of school life, the better Yakuza game(combat & mini games), however we won't get another one. Yagami is cool. Opening song is great.
