Beautiful in its simplicity, The Almost Gone is definitely a game that won’t appeal to everyone, but for this reviewer, it was a worthwhile experience. Some frustratingly obtuse puzzle solutions aside, the 3D point and click gaming is well-designed, and the minimalist art style fits perfectly. It also packs an emotional punch for anyone familiar with the tragic issues portrayed, which it deals with sensitively and powerfully.

The LEGO Ninjago Movie Video Game is an enjoyable action-adventure romp, but ultimately it never quite reaches the standards set by some of the previous LEGO titles. The framerate issues are a constant nuisance, and other technical issues such as crashes and excessive loading screens make the game feel unfinished, as if rushed to launch alongside the film. Thankfully, fans of the LEGO Ninjago Movie will definitely enjoy playing through the story as their favourite ninjas, while LEGO enthusiasts will find enjoyment in the variety and depth of collectables on offer.

I cannot in good faith recommend people pay for Marvel’s Avengers. At it’s absolute best, the game is fine. More often that not, it does not reach those modest heights. The live-service approach to a franchise that does not suit it has rendered so much of it bland and lazy when that’s the last thing a game of this nature should be. This may be a game that we come back to in the future and find a completely reworked, satisfying experience that doesn’t put all its effort into blocking the player from enjoying themselves but not right now. At launch, Marvel’s Avengers is an imperfect and frustrating mess.

Sky Force Anniversary is an intense and well-designed shmup that’s a fitting addition to the Nintendo Switch. It’s great for long sessions as their are numerous medals and collectibles to grab in docked mode as well as short commute sessions in handheld mode. A few more story elements would have been ideal but the game’s addicting gameplay and upgrade system are enough to keep the player hooked. If it’s a high adrenaline bullet hell experience you’re looking to add to your Nintendo Switch collection, look no further than Sky Force Anniversary.

Good Goliath is short and fun but maybe a bit of a one trick pony. I did enjoy the combo system and the slight puzzle style to the oncoming enemy waves. Its graphics, environments and immersion are all top notch and as long as you do not mind just throwing stuff for a few hours and a few small issues, do not hesitate to give it a try, I enjoyed my short time with it.

I feel that the single player is a bit sparse and even though I could not test it, I think the multiplayer will be a hoot and where this game really shines. The social interaction between players and friends will be fun while playing matches, it's a shame the single player does not have the same impact but I do think this game was designed to be played between friends. It's a beautiful game and the VR side of things works well. It's a solid VR outing that's unlike anything other on the market at the moment.

Whilst there's lots here to keep fans of management and colony building games entertained, there's still a lot that needs to be worked on. The use of 'specialists' who explore the world map, feel like they need an overhaul so that this part of the game is more engaging, and the point of having them feels more important to the overall wellbeing of your colony. The fact it's in early management still is good, as hopefully these issues will be addressed, and the actual colony building side of the game provides a lot of fun.
