With Beyond the scope is expanded awkwardly without really refreshing the mechanics to support it. The fantastical is brought back into the fray thanks to Cage being unleashed and whilst he drives the narrative with that seed it loses the plot because of it.

Falcon Age was a joy to play, I loved looking after and interacting with my new found friend. Its design and personality made it feel real, especially in VR. The VR implementation was flawless and I would even go as far to say that this is definitely the way to play the game. The combat could be more involved but it was fun if not a bit shallow. The farming and hunting, even though they were basic were nice and served a purpose to the overall game. I did fell the ending was a bit weird but I will let you decide what you think of that.If you have PSVR headset then this is an experience like no other, however, it's nowhere near as immersive on a normal TV and the experience does suffer.

The gameplay is as fun and addictive as ever, but while added features breathe plenty of new life into the old formula, they aren’t enough to keep The Sims 4 from feeling like half a game. It isn’t a complete misstep, but it’s certainly a long way from the heights intended for it.

The sight gags and deadpanning from the crew are nowhere to be found, leaving the burden of engagement squarely on the shoulders of a featherweight story which simply does not do enough to carry it. As such, the next episode will prove to be pivotal — both in terms of shaping the series’ arc, and in confirming whether this spin-off was worth Telltale’s investment in the first place.

The one gameplay twist to the episode - a button prompt reading of the Night’s Watch vows - can be achieved by watching the exact same scene in the TV show and pressing a button every time someone starts a new sentence. This summarises the problem with The Sword in the Darkness - there is nothing new here.

2Dark’s call back to old 90s horror games is nostalgic, though it comes with all the issues of the games from that era. There are certain expectations from modern games for mechanics and controls to feel intuitive and goals to be well communicated. The interface quickly becomes unmanageable as the inventory balloons and invades the main game space. Having full access to your inventory and combining weapons on the go sounds like a clever concept. That is until you’re in the throes of gameplay and the thing you need is indistinguishable from the junk you have collected. The overall game experience suffers due to this, but if you’re fond of 90s horror games like Alone in the Dark and the original Resident Evil, then you’re likely in for a treat with 2Dark.
