Borderlands 2 surpasses its predecessor in almost every aspect. This is a brilliantly written, over the top, amazingly fun game, that everyone should play and love. It's not perfect, but no firework is, and this one is definitely nuclear.

We are faced with an almost perfect port, which is still able to fulfill the dream of longtime fans: to always carry in our pockets one of the games we loved most during our teenage years. God bless Rockstar! Or, at least, God forgive them.

An amazingly intense and brilliant experience. The sheer intelligence of the puzzles created by Blow and his team is staggering, and the beauty of the island impressive by itself. For puzzle game fans The Witness is a masterpiece: a perfectly logical game, but also one that is not scared to be hard, and for once does not treat the player like an idiot. Just play it, it's worth every penny.

The environments and the atmosphere of the game are immersive thanks to its great visuals. Controls are almost perfect on iPad. Despite the relatively short longevity and an almost non-existent replayability, this is a game everyone should play.

Monster Hunter Generations is the most complete package the franchise has had to offer up to now, with hundreds of monsters, many of locations, four different villages and a perfected online multiplayer, but, surprisingly, the best rests in the changes to the gameplay formula.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the perfect conclusion for Lara's origin trilogy. It tells a compelling story about her past, a conspiracy and the Maya apocalypse, offering a whole new world to explore, with jungles, villages, new and lethal tombs and plenty of secondary missions.

A game that finally brings back the Forza series to its original status. There's racing aplenty in here, with the content its predecessor needed, and the usual quality when it comes to driving and shiny graphics. It's not perfect, still, and some problems from the last chapter weren't addressed, but it's the best and most exciting arcade racing game around, that's for sure.

Batman Arkham Asylum is a product of absolute value that can count on a cast of colorful characters to build a great game, really fun. The greatest strengths of the production lie in the gameplay built around what are the real capabilities of Batman, mixing action and stealth section, but always related with the universe from which have been extrapolated. Rocksteady's game is certainly the new standard for understanding how produce games under license, adapting for videogaming the very spirit of this historic character.

Basically, it improves every single aspect of the original, making it bigger, better looking, and way more fun to play (especially in the advanced phases). It can get overwhelming at times, and the challenge level has gone up considerably when compared to its predecessor, and yet, if you are a strategy fan, this game is definitely a must have, and one of the best titles in the genre.

The five months gape is, only partly, justified by the excellent port made by Capcom. On the other hand it's still the same product seen in March, but on a different platform, that for technical superiority manages to squeeze even more the excellent graphic engine. Whether an action or survival horror, in fact the truth is in the middle, grant it the benefit of the doubt and you'll surely be satisfied.

This will make Nintendo Switch Sports a constantly evolving title that can even double its content over the course of a year or two. The only hope is that Nintendo does not put too much hands on the price of future DLCs and that maybe it can include them in the Online package as already done with other additional content, such as that of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Fortnite is a well-crafted mix, a game that takes all from Minecraft and Left 4 Dead to create something new. Unfortunately, this action builder from Epic Games could show everything in the few first hours. Also, it's very unbalanced in chasing the money from the "free" users.

Considering the variety and versatility promised by the development team in terms of configuration to properly enjoy Rise of the Ronin, one has the feeling that the same mixed result has been achieved as the console version. All things considered, some post-launch patches will be necessary to enjoy an even more solid experience: the publisher has already confirmed to us that several updates are on the way, but at the moment know that the launch version needs more than a few technical refinements.

Starfield aims to be Bethesda Game Studios' magnum opus: it's compelling, entertaining and familiar: it feels like spending time with a longtime friend. This also means that it is inherently old in its structure and in how its universe reacts to the player. It's a shame that it comes with some unforgivable sins, like how dull the planet explorations is, but you will spend tons of hours in the game nonetheless. [Review in Progress]

God of War: Ragnarok on PC is yet another confirmation that expertly crafted ports are still possible, despite everything. Stunning graphics (though you’ll need a good PC to handle all that visual splendor), gameplay as sharp as Kratos’ blades, and a gripping narrative that won’t let you go. Sure, there was the risk of relying on past success and resting on its laurels. It doesn’t revolutionize, nor does it need to: it perfects what already worked on the PlayStation platform, with a confidence that few titles manage to maintain. And that’s perfectly fine.
