Bayonetta 3 is the best title from PlatinumGames for creativity and implementation of unique ideas on the gameplay side. A sum of what the Japanese studio can do, and this saga, from the aesthetic and narrative side. A sumptuous display of style and substance, an explosive third chapter in a series that elegantly places itself at the top of stylish action: a perfect Apotheosis.

Starcraft 2 takes its predecessor and brings it to the next level. Blizzard decided to stick to the original gameplay and improve it, creating an extremely fun and addictive experience. This game has a fantastic singleplayer campaign with a great story, lots of added achievements and challenges to complete and an awesome competitive multiplayer component. It is, simply put, one of the best PC games in years.

Hades II reminded me that roguelites, when well designed, are not exercises in frustration but perfect machines for telling stories. Every defeat sent me back to the Crossroads not with anger, but with curiosity. It’s rare to find a game that balances immediacy and depth, frenzy and reflection, so well. After dozens of hours, I don’t feel “tired” of the game — I feel even more engaged: I want to see every branch of the story, try every weapon, and find the combination of boons that will make me feel unstoppable. For this reason, Hades II is not only the best roguelite ever made, but also one of the most significant works of recent years.

A game with heart. That's such a rare thing these days, but Nintendo still seems to be able to create wonders. Super Mario 3D World is an amazing platform, with brilliant levels and quite a few surprises. Wii U needed a killer app? Here it is.

We could not expect a better PC port PC for Grand Theft Auto V. Rockstar North, offers right from day one a huge game in optimized, widely scalable, and high impact graphics and the video editor, although not so easy to use, is an enjoyable addition.

It's gameplay, over all the other details, that makes Portal 2 unique as a videogaming experience. Even if you don't love puzzles, you should feel the urge to discover and explore bestowed by the over the top level design. It's not perfect, probably it should last longer or cost less, but it's still a masterpiece and an enriching experience.

Konami and Bloober Team revive an invaluable piece of video game history. One of the best games of all time returns with the deflagrating power we remember so well, showing even modern audiences why it still remains the boldest and darkest psychological horror ever seen in the video game industry.

Death Stranding screams Hideo Kojima in every single detail. If you are looking for a journey and an experience, something that you will hold dear for quite sometime, this is the game you have been waiting for. It may lack some variety in the quest design, but the asynchronous multiplayer and the depth of the storytelling are captivating.

Killzone 2 is a unique experience. The intense single player and a compelling "Call of Duty"-style multiplayer deliver an impressive package by themselves. If you add an outstanding engine and design, what you get is the masterpiece everyone was waiting for. The only drawback is the plot, weak and affected by bi-dimensional characters. Since plot isn't really the core aspect of a shooter game, Killzone 2 is still a must buy for every genre fan, and it raises the bar for every future production.

Uncharted 2 is a great title, and one of the best of this entire generation. Its only flaw is a lack of real innovation for the videogame culture, although entirely made up for by an incredible merging between gameplay and cinematics. You'll literally fall in love with the characters, the story, and the beautiful settings. The multiplayer side is in our opinion not entirely necessary, although developed with care for details, and will provide even more fun on top of the 10+ hour single player experience.

Uncharted is still an incredible cinematic experience, but its own issues remain the same: limited interactivity, often too linear. Despite this, it's still one of the best adventure titles of the year, one you shouldn't miss. Multiplayer is just an add-on, but a very well crafted one.

The only hope is that Nintendo does not put too much hands on the price of future DLCs and that maybe it can include them in the Online package as already done with other additional content, such as that of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Fortnite is a well-crafted mix, a game that takes all from Minecraft and Left 4 Dead to create something new. Unfortunately, this action builder from Epic Games could show everything in the few first hours. Also, it's very unbalanced in chasing the money from the "free" users.

Considering the variety and versatility promised by the development team in terms of configuration to properly enjoy Rise of the Ronin, one has the feeling that the same mixed result has been achieved as the console version. All things considered, some post-launch patches will be necessary to enjoy an even more solid experience: the publisher has already confirmed to us that several updates are on the way, but at the moment know that the launch version needs more than a few technical refinements.

Starfield aims to be Bethesda Game Studios' magnum opus: it's compelling, entertaining and familiar: it feels like spending time with a longtime friend. This also means that it is inherently old in its structure and in how its universe reacts to the player. It's a shame that it comes with some unforgivable sins, like how dull the planet explorations is, but you will spend tons of hours in the game nonetheless. [Review in Progress]

God of War: Ragnarok on PC is yet another confirmation that expertly crafted ports are still possible, despite everything. Stunning graphics (though you’ll need a good PC to handle all that visual splendor), gameplay as sharp as Kratos’ blades, and a gripping narrative that won’t let you go. Sure, there was the risk of relying on past success and resting on its laurels. It doesn’t revolutionize, nor does it need to: it perfects what already worked on the PlayStation platform, with a confidence that few titles manage to maintain. And that’s perfectly fine.
