Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV still carries the hard tradition of strategic games on console. The game gives a great deal both on personalization and historical context, and tries to recover a more traditional conception, giving a better result on commanding in a strategic gameplay with a gamepad, instead of a mouse. However, even if the satisfaction of conquering and well-administrating land it’s undeniable, this search for tradition pushes the game further towards only a specialized niche of public.- SpazioGames

Warriors Orochi 4 Ultimate is the best and most complete version of the latest Koei crossover series incarnation. Even if it keeps the original flaws, it tries to adjust the narrative to a more “human” level and utterly develops a game structure that is deep on its own way. It’s neither the best mosou nor the best Warriors Orochi, but the contents of this Ultimate Edition gave it the dignity to become a good starting point to approach the genre.- SpazioGames

Assassin’s Creed The Rebel Collection does not bring anything new to the series, yet this was expected. Fortunately the Nintendo Switch conversion went unharmed, and both games allow two big single-player “pirate simulators” to be portable. Asterix & Obelix XXL 3 moves on a awfully thin line. Despite its being fun both on single and cooperative play, and a good conversion of the atmosphere of the original comicbook series, too many times this game stops only to “snack fun”. It seems that there was a “change of mood” from the previous games of the series, which came to avoid all the exaggeration and satire that made the XXL brand well-known, to follow the recent road digged by the CG animated movies about the character. For irreducible fans only, more than ever.- SpazioGames

MediEvil on PlayStation 4 is history repeating itself. An independent developer who has an idea or a mission big enough to make them overcome the low budget with creativity and love for their work. A faithful remake with interesting solutions to make an old game live in 2019, but also with limitations that stop it to be the best one on this generation. It’s also doubtful that this game will be able to draw new players because of its inexperience and rigidities that directly came from the 90s. But this MediEvil remains to praise because it brings back not only Sir Dan, but also his message: sometimes motivation could everything you need to achieve something great.
