If you have all the accessories to play this game as it is meant to be digested (Move, Sharp Shooter, a decent online connection and four non-idiotic mates on standby for co-op) it's one heck of a good game. Lack even two of those prerequisites though and SOCOM: Special Forces will come across like a fairly standard operation that takes a bit too much liberty with the descriptor 'special'. Go in expecting a “next-gen” evolution of Rock Band 3, and you'll wind up booing. Expect a slick, party-in-a-box, and you'll be wolf -whistling. [Christmas 2015, p65]- Playstation Official Magazine Australia

In a decade, God of War: Ascension may very well be looked upon as that weird middle child that nobody really wants to talk to. But for now, it’s still a consistent, well-polished bundle of fun and really, that’s all that should count. [May 2013, p72]- Playstation Official Magazine Australia

Do yourself a favour and play DS3 like a raving masochist, straight off the bat. It’s a slick, AAA sequel that’s worthy of its place in the franchise. but only if you take the initiative and crank the difficulty. We didn’t think it possible, but Visceral has engineered a sequel that will appease old fans and entice new ones, too. [March 2013, p72]- Playstation Official Magazine Australia

Split/Second does a lot well. The key component is the environmental destruction. Each track is littered with dangerous traps and shortcuts that can be triggered by you or your A.I. opponents. [June 2010 p74]- Playstation Official Magazine Australia

Visually it’s a real treat, and the animations are top drawer. It’s a massive step-up from last year and precisely what the series has needed with the long-time critical dominance of the 2K franchise [Christmas 2009, p.77]- Playstation Official Magazine Australia

Aside from a few isolated visual bugs we spotted, Syndicate seems to fix the technical bugbears that haunted Unity. Its likeable dual protagonists and fascinating setting are offset by little mechanical evolution and a few unfortunate cuts (co-op mainly). Persona 4 Golden is a Tardis of a game. Initially, it seems cute and friendly and it hooks you with its murder mystery and time management focus. Once you get inside, it opens up exponentially, awing you with its scope. [March 2013, p76]- Playstation Official Magazine Australia

As fun as it can be, Neptunia is an extremely niche title. If the only game you ever play is Black Ops, avoid this like a spinning-up death machine. If, however, you really miss the JRPG heydays of the PSone and PS2, you need this. Now. [June 2011 p76]- Playstation Official Magazine Australia

Look past the lop-sided multiplayer, and Doom is still one helluva reboot. It’s a must for any modern FPS fan looking to taste the ultra-violence of yesteryear. Your Nana will hate it. [August 2016, p71]- Playstation Official Magazine Australia

As with the rest of Virtua Tennis' shtick it's a simple system that hides its complexity well. Along with an addictive, board game-style World Tour mode,it's hard not to recommend Virtua Tennis 4. Perhaps the stellar motion controls are relegated to throwaway mini-game, rather than being fully integrated. [June 2011 p 79]- Playstation Official Magazine Australia

This formula may be 20-years-old but Chronicles’ gameplay is still razor sharp and the visuals are oddly endearing. To quote one of its Engrish quest-givers: please investigate into it. [August 2013, p78]- Playstation Official Magazine Australia

More than seven years on and Stranger’s Wrath is still fresh. Apart from some annoying pop-up tutorial boxes on PS Vita and some niggling issues when retrieving ammo, it’s still unabashedly brilliant. A must buy for sure. [March 2013, p80]- Playstation Official Magazine Australia

The 2008 original was dubbed 'the PlayStation's Zelda' and received wide critical acclaim. Despite that, Okami was criminally underplayed and its shallow sales triggered the collapse of a great developer. It'd be an absolute sin to see that history repeated here. So buy this classic. Wolf it down. [Christmas 2012, p.74]- Playstation Official Magazine Australia

Folks who have a single-minded, fashionable dislike of the series will recognise a handful of meaningful changes to the formula, but nothing that will keep them jacked in for long. Being in the middle-ground of the love-hate CoD spectrum, we’ll happily play this for months. [January 2015, p62]- Playstation Official Magazine Australia

Disarmingly simple and consciously limited, Push Me Pull You’s longevity is questionable, but this isn’t designed to be played for days on end. Stick it on when friends and family are round, secure yourself a festive amount of booze and snacks, and you’re all but guaranteed yuks of both kinds. Basically, Battlefront is like the second Death Star in Return of the Jedi. It’s as visually impressive as it is, well, kinda barebones. That said, it is not to be underestimated. Diehard Star Wars fans should still stay on target, because it has the potential to set your world on fire. [January 2015, p69]- Playstation Official Magazine Australia

If you can ignore the eyesore low-res video feedback of the PlayStation Eye, the book itself and the creative crap it spawns looks sharp, well animated, and it grows in complexity. Likewise the interactive stories and narration are top-notch stuff. [Christmas 2012, p.76]- Playstation Official Magazine Australia
