Star Wars Battlefront might not be terribly considerate of solo players and its by-design accessibility might deter DICE’s hardcore Battlefield fans, but there’s no denying the multiplayer is a hell of a lot of fun, and as far as creating the feeling of being part of a Star Wars movie, it doesn’t get any better than this.

A brilliant Star Wars experience, but with limited life-span and little depth. [Christmas 2015, p.76]

As Star Wars fever builds ahead of The Force Awakens, Battlefront's brand of accessible multiplayer mayhem is definitely going to make a lot of people happy this Christmas. Sure, it could do with a campaign and sometimes it's a bit too shallow for its own good, but Battlefront is also one of the most authentic Star Wars experiences you can have outside of kissing your sister - "for luck" - and scrapping with your dad.

Star Wars: Battlefront has great potential, but its lack of content certainly lowers the experience. Fans might forgive this but we know that at least for now the game is still just a demo.

Star Wars Battlefront is a good Star Wars game, but an average multiplayer shooter. If you have any love for a galaxy far, far away, you'll get a real kick out of the taking part in its fun, large scale battles, and your reverence for the source material may even be enough to keep you coming back despite its shortcomings. If, on the other hand, you're after the next big shooter to keep you occupied longer term, the limited weaponry and simplified customisation mean that this isn't the game that you're looking for.

Right now, it’s bigger than life, feels good while you're enjoying it, but is somewhat disappointingly hollow.

With five tutorial missions, nine multiplayer game types and two single player modes, spread across 12 maps, Battlefront feels massive yet most of its modes wind up feeling like chores.

Very rarely does a game constitute a zero rating. Saying that, zeroes normally come from whiny people that didn't like their "vidya games coz they got angry over dat der console thingy not wurkin like it should". Re-evaluate your life if you come on here and rate a game zero because your disappointed in it. This is a decent game with not much to it. Not mind blowing. But fun. Slightly let down by its lack of content. Guess that means it gets a zero rating. Sorry impeccable sound design, great graphics and actual fun to be had. Zero. No wait. Eight. Because I'm not a moron. Expand

If this was a 20 dollar game you could download off of the store, it wouldn't be so bad. However, calling this game Star Wars BattlefrontIf this was a 20 dollar game you could download off of the store, it wouldn't be so bad. However, calling this game Star Wars Battlefront seems to really let the series of games down. It took away many of aspects which made the previous installment so highly coveted, such as the class system and a truly fun campaign.
In the game's favor, it truly looks and sounds incredible, but I don't feel that this can make up for the lack of overall content. There's too few modes which almost all feel uninspired, only a handful of maps for a game with no real campaign mode, and the weapons are incredibly unbalanced when unlocks compare to default.
The matching system is lacking, spawn camping feels far too common, and the game constantly loads you right into the line of fire of enemy vehicles. These major flaws in the multiplayer mode are all the more frustrating when the single player experience is so hollow. You have a handful of training missions, which weren't all that bad. Then story fights, which are the same first to 100 kills mission over and over again, the hero fights are an utter joke as even on the harder difficulties the life drops are so common the hero character will almost never die (not to mention the lack of heroes to chose from, there's only 6 in the entire game). And survival mode, which seems a touch unfair of how many vehicles the game sends at only a single player.
Overall the game just feels so empty. It seems like so much time was put into graphic quality, somewhere in the process they stopped creating a game. After an hour or two you can experience most of what the game has to offer unless you're going to put hours and hours into online ranking to get a few more guns and the ability to give your character different hairstyles. The massive multiplayer can be fun at times but incredibly frustrating at others, and the payoff at the end feels so minuscule.
If you plan to get this game, maybe wait 3 or 4 years for the price to drop to an appropriate level and hopefully the dlc that got cranked out in the meantime will have improved the game enough to justify purchasing it then. But I cannot imagine any dlc content worth having to pay any more then the already overpriced $60 price tag on the main game.
Overall, 2 out of 10. Break out Battlefront 2 instead and work past the outdated graphics and experience a game done right. And that's only $10 on steam if you don't already own it. Much better deal for a clearly superior game.

Star Wars: Battlefront is the latest disappontment from DICE and EA. Known for putting microtransactions and paywalls in every game theyStar Wars: Battlefront is the latest disappontment from DICE and EA. Known for putting microtransactions and paywalls in every game they publish. Battlefront doesn't take a step in a different direction.

Battlefront features a variety of boring, dull, loud, repetitive and confusing gamemodes to play on! Let's list them all!
    Supremacy: Capture the control points
Walker Assault: Activate stuff and damage/protect an AT-AT
Fighter Squadron: Surprise! DICE got too lazy to program space battles so they put you in a star fighter above the Walker Assault and Supremacy maps.
    Cargo: Capture an object
    Drop Zone: Capture an object
    Droid Run: Capture an object
Hero Hunt: Deal the most damage to a Hero in order to play as one
Heroes Vs Villains: Defeat all the Heroes/Villains
Turning Point: Capture the control points
Extraction: PLEASE BUY THE SEASON PASS IN ORDER PLAY ON THIS DEAD GAMEMODE

Battlefront also features one of the worst customization options in history!
    Male rebel with helmet
    Male rebel without helmet
    Female rebel with helmet
    Female rebel without helmet
Male rebel with/without helmet with a beard
    Aliens (Rebels only)
Imperial side is exactly the same

If you want good customization, buy Uncharted 4, there you can chose from different characters, skins, hats, face wear, taunts, pre-sets outfits. Naughty Dog is also releasing more customization options (100% free). Anyways, back to the Battlefront review.

    The game is also missing:
    Singleplayer
    Galactic Conquest
    Space Battles
    Prequel content
    Content
    Balanced gameplay
    Fun non-repetitive gameplay
    And more!

I'm not done yet! The Season Pass and DLCs costs WAY to much. Well I guess that's it.

If you enjoy broken, boring, loud, repetitive, confusing, content lacking, unbalanced EA game, well then this game is for you! If you hate all those things then stay the hell away from this game!
