Battlefront´s impressive fidelity to the Star Wars universe, and one of the best technical aspects we´ve seen in any game, are not enough to make us forget it lacks of solo campaign, and 12 maps are too few. The experience is great, but it's too short.

Star Wars Battlefront its full of heroic moments and has stunning visuals and legendary OST. It could be too simple in terms of gunplay, but it's great building a frantic Star Wars universe.

The game is gorgeous, authentic, highly detailed, and rife with potential to grow into something much bigger.

Battlefront doesn't go much deeper than its ambitious surface appeal. It front loads its best content, only to fade in quality as the hours roll by. Star Wars Battlefront's skin is beautiful, but its legs are shaking, and threaten to buckle with time.

As close as you'll get to getting your childhood back. Dig through the incredible production values and you'll find a serviceable shooter, but one with a potentially terminal lack of content. [Jan 2016, p.73]

Star Wars Battlefront is a solid proof-of-concept that should be fully realized in an inevitable sequel. Like Evolve, Titanfall and The Order: 1886 before it, Battlefront chooses style over substance. It’s absolutely beautiful and captures what it’s like to be in a Star Wars film, but style can only take a game so far.

Some of the lower reviews are a product of the game receiving way to much hype. As far as the game play goes, you really can't compare it to the older battlefront games, or the current battlefield games, as they are completely different from one another. I didn't give it a 10 because in the 15 or so hours i have played it have ran into a couple of bugs, and the hero game play could still use some tweaking as the actions are not as smooth as they could be. I am very happy with this game though and I will be sharing my time between this a fallout pretty evenly for the next few months. Expand

    Cons:
    - Repetitive, shallow game modes
    - Dumbed down combat
    - No squad play
    - Can't choose spawn points on maps (to my knowledge)
    - No strategic play...spawn, frag die...

Battlefield game mechanics have basically been stripped/dumbed down for mass appeal...

Avoid this for a year or so until they hear the cries of the displeased masses and add some substance to this snack of FPS cotton candy...

This game is the epitome ofThis game is gorgeous with incredible attention to detail, but that's meaningless. It's basically a polished turd. This game is the epitome of greed. Greed that is destroyed the video game industry. It comes with four boring maps for $50, and the content was clearly cut in half to sell later as over priced DLC. If you spent $60 dollars on this and another $50 for the season pass, you have been scammed horribly and I feel bad for you. There is no single player campaign, the weapons are lame, the flying is beyond terrible and playing as signature Star Wars characters is completely underwhelming. It will only take you a few hours to see everything there is here. This is easily one of the most disappointing releases of the year. What do you expect from EA though. This is another one of their truly lazy, piss poor excuses for a cash grab video game. Expand
