Hooked On‘s included tutorial does almost nothing for players who don’t already know the deal with fishing games; it doesn’t advise tactics for certain weather conditions, it doesn’t explain what situations might be good for certain lures or rods, or anything that would be, you know, useful to someone new.

When all is said and done, the handful of people sitting in the middle of the Venn diagram marked “doesn’t own a PC” and “wants a hardcore train simulation” still deserve a game that isn’t buggy, runs well, respects their time as a user, and one that provides more for their money than this one does.

Quite frankly, this feels like a Flash or Unity game, that someone decided to greenlight as a full console release.

MySims SkyHeroes is just another game out there that does nothing special in it's delivery.

Strange Brigade has perhaps the most finicky, inconsistent gunplay in my recent memory.

Put simply, don't buy Bellator: MMA Onslaught even if you are an MMA fan. In fact, go play Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown or Skullgirls. Sure, they're not a realistic looking games, but they're better MMA/fighting games than this travesty.

It wouldn’t have reinvented the wheel, but it could have at least tried to give us something more to work with than the bare bones of a game from the 2000s.

If you enjoy mindless hours of grinding with no clear goal or instruction, and if you enjoy hour long battles on the “easiest” difficulty setting where you still feel underleveled no matter how much you grind, then this game could be right up your alley.

There is a saying that sometimes less is more and this is something that should have been on every computer screen during development. It feels as if Mugen Souls was never fully finished and to try and cover this up, the player was handed a multitude of gameplay mechanics that unfortunately do nothing to add to the overall value of the game.

Nothing more than a major step backwards for the franchise. With a poor camera, tacked on QTEs and a laughable story that takes itself far too seriously, Ninja Gaiden 3 is far and away the worst game I've played this year.

Other than the fact that it is using the Alien IP, the game fails to bring any tension even in the simplest of ways, as it trips over its own feet at every step. It feels like a rushed product in almost every aspect of its design, and for something that could have been so great, it is now little more than a black mark on Gearbox Software’s track record.

Bravo Team’s third-person camera movement system snatches control away from the player far too much, creating a jarring and unfriendly experience. I’m still baffled at why this was thought to be a good idea after numerous play tests. Movement is just the peak of myriad problems in Bravo Team, including tracking issues, AI goofs, and just plain bad and boring game design.

Combine Undead & Undressed‘s disturbing sexuality and sexism with its poor graphics and combat and $50 price tag, you get a game that not only should definitely not be purchased, but probably never should have been made in the first place.

Kung Fu Rider is an incredibly poor game. It's a rain cloud hovering over a bright sunny PlayStation Move launch.

It was clear from the beginning that the Iron Man 2 video game was just rushed to meet the movie release date, and in doing so, Secret Level has created one of the worst movie tie-ins of all time.

Afro Samurai 2: Revenge of Kuma Volume 1 is an unpleasant, deeply depressing experience throughout its short running time. Its narrative is incomprehensible melodrama told through sloppy cutscenes and obnoxious monologues. The levels largely feel unfinished, offering only sporadic opportunities for player interaction.

Kick-Ass could be a guilty pleasure for everyone if it weren't for the frustrating and repetitive gameplay, weak incentives provided for replay-value, and of course the fifteen-dollar price point.

From terrible Quick Time Events to a surprisingly absent sense of horror. Poorly designed levels and monotonous traps do nothing to help its cause and save this game from the slaughterhouse. What little joy that can be found during your play-through is quickly squashed by the many flaws to be found.

I found myself laughing a lot while playing Yorbie. The problem is, I was laughing at just how terrible this game is, and how ripped off I would feel if I actually dropped a Jackson to pay for it.

Ridge Racer is a disappointment on all fronts, and feels more like a horrible car wreck. While the racing itself is decent, it crashes dead smack into a brick wall of poor planning, lazy development, and a complete lack of content.

Earth Atlantis doesn’t so much sink in the depths of the ocean as much as it drowns in the boring and tedious repetition it’s so engulfed in.
