Fairly entertaining in single player. In multiplayer with nostalgic potential, but unfortunately behind in terms of play. Star Wars: Battlefront Classic Collection disappoints even die-hard fans and plays with retro feelings.

Tales of the Shire feels like an unfinished beta version. It lacks detail, depth, and, above all, sound. A lot of wasted potential.

Due to the performance problems on PS5 and Xbox Series, we are forced to deduct [10 points] here. Overall, The First Descendant does not fully exploit its potential. But the title has enough room for improvement and could therefore be expanded further in the coming weeks and months. Even the popular Destiny series was unable to convince players from the start.

A simulation about paramedics is a great idea. The job is exciting and important. Unfortunately, Ambulance Life: A Paramedic Simulator has a lot of bugs, graphic issues and since the Day 1 Patch also in terms of content some problems. The gameplay isn’t that bad, but overall a lot of potential gets wasted.

Too bad for the German market that biathlon is not in the game, but in exchange you relive exciting disciplines like ski jumping or skeleton. Paired with good graphics and a nice rock music soundtrack you get one of the better Olympics-games of the past years. The downsides: a cheating AI and annoying, repetitive disciplines like ice skating.

The First Descendant had lots of potential, but now we know it’s just a mediocre shooter. The gunplay is fun, the descendants and their skills are nice to have, but a boring story, generic mission designs and big performance issues tarnish the reputation.

Fans beware: This is not a Sacred game, no matter how many threes they put on the box. There is no loot, no in-depth RPG elements and no open world to explore. Above all, the game is bursting with insufferable humor and exhausting voice acting. If you manage to ignore all that, there is a good chance you might enjoy the simple combat, co-op mode and decent graphics. Even though the whole thing turns stale pretty quickly.

Unfortunately, Dark Void does not meet any of our expectations. What could have been an interesting shooter with seamlessly integrated flight combat turns out to be a mediocre looking action game without outstanding moments. Besides the uninspired look and the boring level design, the biggest problem is, that there are just not enough possibilities to use the jetpack in a cool way. Most of the time you are either flying or walking. Only in a handful of situations it’s really useful to fire up your turbines during an on-foot-fight and show the enemies what death from above really means.

The games are mostly great, the form in which they are presented is not, for playing them via streaming is a buggy chore. What could have been a treat for fans of the series ends up being a disappointment.

Nice crusader-setting and well done main characters but the game doesn't satisfy that much. The animations aren't smooth enough, the combat-system isn't really tactical and the skill-system is useless in most options. The coop-play is disappointing, because the gameplay-experience is just the same as in single-player.

Having no main series entry for over two console generations, Gungrave G.O.R.E is faced with high expecations from its loyal fanbase that it can not fully satisfy. Like its predecessors G.O.R.E is an arcade style third person shooter that lacks variety in gameplay, enemies and level design. Often monotone and with an uninteresting plot, it still has its moments once the gameplay loop gets going. But overall it could have been much more and only functions as an elaborate protoype for a potentially good Gungrave game.

The co-op cooking game has almost no meat on the bone. It copies a couple of mechanics from the much better alternative Overcooked, without capturing, why Overcooked is actually fun. A lot of things occur excessively randomly, the later levels are frustrating and variety is missing as well.

Due to its easier mechanics and forgiving gameplay, Guardians of Middle-earth is a decent MOBA for beginners with a lot of Tolkien-atmosphere and nice graphics. If you’ve played Dota 2 or LoL before, you will miss their depth and fair business model though.

Disciples 3: Renaissance delivers three big campaigns that entertain for a long time. It looks remarkably good and the gameplay mechanics are adequately implemented. However, the game lacks the depth of titles like Heroes of Might and Magic 5. The armies are too small, the castle building system is rather rudimentary and the mission design is mostly straight-lined. Additionally, the music and the German dub will unnerve you after seconds. A nice try at turn base strategy, but not a big leap in the genre.

Although far from perfect, this stand-alone add-on delivers at least a thoroughly playable The Guild 2-experience. It adds some new professions and maps to the game that fit perfectly into the system. But most of all, the young developers have managed to eradicate most of the bugs of the main game and the horrible expansion Venice. Plus, the network code now actually works! There are still typical errors like trade carts being stuck or graphical glitches. But the developers have succeeded in carving out the core game experience of The Guild 2 under all of the bugs and design flaws of recent years.

The Technomancer has some interesting approaches but lacks a lot of polish at many points. Especially the constant back tracking gets really annoying with time. The lack of budget definitely take their toll on many game aspects.

While the concept of Earthblood is fantastic, the execution is not. From story to visuals to level design, the game feels outdated and uninspired. One thing I really like though is how it lets you choose between action or stealth.

With a little bit more time Crucible could have become a half-decent game. Instead Amazon's first online shooter feels rushed and unfinished, lacks elemental gameplay and comfort features or simply any unique selling point which sets it apart from its competitors.

A half-baked and unfinished attempt at a game, which has been thrown onto the market here for €20. There is nothing left here of the legacy of the former Gothic studio.

Alien Isolation gave me goosebumps. SOMA enraptured me with its interesting story and underwater-scenario. Dead Space shined through awesomely directed fights. And Syndrome? The horror-game by Camel 101 copies a lot of those outstanding examples, without ever reaching their overall quality. Syndrome has no elements that separate it from other games of this particular genre and thus descends into mediocrity. If you desperately look for something horror related though, Syndrome might entertain you - at least for a little while.

There’s way too little content in Skater XL and a lot of missing things like NPCs which make it seem like the game never got out of early-access. Playing it, however, feels great. Let’s just hope that the developers update the game with a lot more stuff than it currently has.

Poor controls, short and few levels: the game is over as fast as Sonic runs. It has its moments, but considering the positive prerequisites, the technical shortcomings make the game a mess.

Despite its good ideas and intentions, Bound by Flame is a mediocre, often tiresome experience that suffers from a lackluster story and an ill-conceived combat system.

Redfall not only has big performance and balancing problems, but the story is also boring and the characters are annoying. This shooter is already one of the big disappointments of the gaming year.

Leisure Suit Larry: Reloaded is pretty much the same game as the original with improved graphics, sound and speech. The kickstarter project still provides you with the typical humor of the Larry Laffer-series and nearly the same puzzles, but also comes with some very uncomfortable game mechanics and lack of usability like its original version.

Sadly Sniper stays behind all expectations – which actually weren't too high – and although it's quite good looking we encountered a load of technical problems throughout the game.

To elevate an enthusiastic fan mod like Iron Front to the level of a retail game, it definitely needs more work done than this wannabe-WWII-clunker. Horrible AI and an interface that would have been considered outdated in 1944 make this game about as impressive as a constructing a fake Tiger tank from a Fiat Panda, cardboard boxes and a few pounds of paper mâché.

Warfighter is a typical "more- of-the-same-game." Developer Danger Close didn't reach the goal, creating a "most authentic" shooter - the 5h-campaign feels like a Hollywood war movie, lots of firefights, some nice pursuit-sequences and a most confusing story-plot. Playing Warfighter online in various modes is kind of fun, though there are still lot of bugs in there.

Not spicy enough and rather chewy - there would have been more in it.

An entertaining, tactical dungeon crawler with a lot of different classes and a steady supply of items. The cash shop is mildly annoying though, thankfully you don’t really need it.

Being an emergency itself, the game suffers from a vast number of bugs, complicated controls and pesky music. Operation sites are often hard to locate and navigation is dreading. The big redeeming quality is a huge variety of mechanics and places of action.

New Allies is pleasing to look at and offers a relaxed experience for newcomers, as long as you keep your expectations in check. But if you are looking for a deep city builder or a long-lasting multiplayer strategy game, by all means, look elsewhere.

A healf-harted remaster of a game which, in this day and age, is hardly worth your money or your time. Die-hard fans of Sacred 2 might still find it enjoyable, even though some bugs remain and the new UI comes with a few drawbacks.

You surely have made up your mind concerning a purchase of Duke Nukem Forever. So a review might sound obsolete. But it's not. The Duke-Adventure matches the expectations, the negative and positive. It's a great shooter for fans but of course suffers from the bad graphics and some boring levels.

A short but charming adventure in which atmosphere and style are more important than clever puzzles and creative design decisions.

The bland, repetitive mission design and a boring story make Crackdown 3 a quite forgettable experience.

A pointless re-release. If you really want to play this game, despite all its shortcomings, you should pick up the superior ScummVM version.

Nice gangster-setting and easy to learn gameplay-mechanics. The game mixes tactical combat like in Jagged Alliance with a strategical management of your gangster-business. Unfortunately the gameplay itself isn’t that challenging or going in depth as it could be.

From the Ashes has a great concept, but the result feels sluggish and never reaches its full potential.

The primitive combat system and monotonous level design are reason enough to dislike this mediocre action game. And yet, there is more: The character design is disputable, to say the least, and the cut-scenes fail to support the almost non-existent storyline. Unless you are crazy for non-stop action in a solid presentation, this game is one you should avoid.

MUD TV aims at reinventing the classic Mad TV. There are lots of cool jokes and skits on TV and Hollywood and the comic characters are nearly as cute as the ones of the original. But developer Realmforge should have put more time into playtesting. Glitches and bugs spoil the the experience and the presentation is rather lame. A nice try and an O.K. simulation but clearly not a rejuvenation of the original game.

Surely you can master the game despite the broken balancing, the terrible performance, the confusing user interface and many other shortcomings and build a profitable business.

Redfall is such a game where every positive point is followed by a "but". A pity!

Buildings Have Feelings Too is a charming game with great potential. The idea of caring for literal buildings is new and innovative. The gameplay on the other side is unnecessarily complicated and the perspective makes it hard to see things. Additionally, the long loading times and horrible translation destroy what could otherwise be a fine little game.

Deadfall Adventures is an appealing approach of merging a first-person-shooter with puzzle-elements plus a well-told B-Movie. Sadly, it tries to run with the hare and hunt with the hound, thus succeeds in neither task.

The Revenant Prince had so much potential, which makes it even more depressing that in the end, it turned out to be a bore. It does look nice, for sure, but that fact alone can only take it so far. The story is completely uninteresting and confusing, you don’t know what you have to do half of the time, there are a lot of bugs and the fights are moderately entertaining at best. Skip this one.

For my taste there is too little gameplay between the many dialogue sequences.

The best thing I can say about Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance is, that the game feels like one of these titles, you rented from the Videostore in the early 2000s to play through on a weekend. Which probably tells you, that you shouldn't pay full price for it. Should the developers at Tuque succeed in patching the bugs and putting more meat on this dragon's bones, then Dark Alliance could over time become a fun Multiplayer-title. Until then, there are a lot of better alternatives for a co-op-adventure.

Flatout 4 is a successor to an already lousy game and continues a loveless heritage. Long loading times and a number of bugs cumulate in an unenjoyable experience.

Don’t get me wrong, Web of Shadows is unquestionably better than Spider-Man 3 was. But again Treyarch fails at porting the game from consoles to PC.

Comprehensive sports game that lets you experience the Olympic Summer Games, but gets boring to soon.

Even if you zoom all the way in, you will be hard-pressed to find any semblance of fun in this monotone shooting gallery.

I don't think I've ever had a game in the test that was so difficult to judge. It doesn't grip properly, but Fallout 76 makes me feel very contradictory. On the one hand, I really enjoy the game world, the exploration and all the stories told here. But I'm also someone who can get involved with this indirect way of telling stories. I can understand that for many this doesn't work without NPCs and dialogues. But I enjoy reading the different diary entries and listening to the holobands. On the other hand, the poor technical condition of the game really annoys me a lot. The poor performance despite average graphics quality is hard to understand. You can and must expect more from a modern game in 2018.

Fairly straight-forward first person shooter set during WW2 with average cryengine graphics and boring story. Although Enemy Front lacks highlights or memorable levels, some of the more open areas invite the player to experiment with the optional stealth /sniper gameplay. Unfortunately, this aforementioned game mechanic also has its flaws.

A nice story and a solid atmosphere cannot save what’s otherwise a terrible game, riddled with bugs, stupid gameplay choices, bad graphics and other grievous problems. Unless you are a die-hard fan of the series, stay away.

The interesting premise of this shooter is drenched in horrible design flaws. Tubular levels, a bad feeling for weapons, ugly textures, boring gameplay, an unnerving reload system and story inconsistencies hinder this games way to a better review score.

The basic approach of Generation Zero is quite appealing, unfortunately the execution lacks finesse. The world is too big, too generic, too lifeless. The story and missions feel trivial and the numerous bugs and glitches ruin the last bit of fun.

Daylight is the first ever game using unreal engine 4 – but with its cheap, boring gameplay and muddy textures it’s not a good advertorial for epic’s tech.

Despite very linear gameplay and a level-design that is just short of plagiarism, Legendary delivers action-packed fun, impressive monsters, a good atmosphere and the feeling that Spark learned from the abysmal Turning Point.

Unbelievable! JoWood publishes an Add-On which ultimately spoils all the fun of the original game with lousy graphics, horrible interface and lackluster gameplay.

This game shouldn’t have been released in this state. The story is outlandish, there’s no action, the stealth-parts are boring and the ominous nightmare porcelain men are just plainly not frightening. The premise was good, the execution simply ragged.

Many problems while descending into hell: The horror-adventure ist neither technically nor gameplay-wise well-engineered.

The enormous cities that one can build with a variety of customization options are satisfying, no doubt about it. But the dated graphics, the imprecise controls and lack of features compared to its predecessors as well as too many menus and annoying music make Cities XXL an insufficient experience nonetheless.

Repetitive, ugly and lacking everything resembling fun, Babylon’s Fall is a mystery, and the mystery is: Why does it even exist?

There are plenty of good ideas in this shooter. None of them are new. And none of them are implemented as thrilling as they could have been. All that´s left is a decent shooter with a not-so-bad AI, nice but partly overdone graphics and a non-existent story. There are moments of fun, though. You just have to find them.

The idea to enhance the fighting system with meditative elements sounds interesting but doesn’t work out in any way. The meditations move to the background, while the fighting system, which is not that bad, takes the front row. Long loading times, bad controls and constantly the same animations cloud the overall picture further.

Only die-hard fans of the Gothic franchise will be able to overlook the games terrible technical shortcomings. Forsaken Gods hits rock bottom of what was once a great roleplaying series.

Bombshell is a mess, with tedious action, boring level design and redundant RPG elements. Shelly Harrison deserves better.

With Half-Life 3 a faraway dream, there’s a lot anticipation for anything new related to Valves shooter series. But even if you are desperate for some new life sign from Gordon Freeman: Please avoid Prospekt. It’s a poorly-crafted experience with deeply flawed combat balancing. There are lots of free mods out there that are far better.

Even hardcore fans of Harry Potter have to admit: This adventure is not only boring and without highlights, it's also designed without any love for videogames or the Potter franchise.

Just call the bulldozer already: This theme park ruin is ready for demolition and is neither safe nor enjoyable to play in. Better get Planet Coaster asap.

The disastrous technical condition, poor graphics, butchered animations and bad camera are just a number of reasons why this game should not have been published that unfinished. Bugs and glitches destroy every second match and extreme loading times make waiting between matches a chore.

What started as a strategy experiment became the worst case scenario of gaming. Ugly, impossible to handle and extremely demanding for hardware, Stormrise is possibly the worst strategy game of the year! If this is the future of RTS, I’d rather stay in the past!

Oh my. Platinum Games is one of Japan’s finest developers when it comes to action games, but this one is a real stinker and not worthy of the studio’s name. Babylon’s Fall? More like Babylon’s fail.

A terrible shooter with pretty much nothing to like about: the level design is horrible and the AI turns out to be foolish at best. Explicit gore does not make up for bad game design, in fact it makes this games mistakes stand out even more. If it weren't for the acceptable cutscenes and some halfway spooky level sections, this game would be an even bigger disaster than it already is.

Even truckloads of patches couldn’t save this roleplaying mess from being one of the worst releases we’ve seen the entire year. Avoid at all costs.

Flashback (1993) remains untouched: Unfortunately, this sequel is also doomed to failure, although it tries to remain faithful to its predecessor.

Rambo: The Video Game is indeed "Your worst nightmare." This on-rails shooting gallery looks and plays like a game made by two monkeys. And it doesn’t even turn blue...

Boring and buggy third-person-action-adventure that features two different characters, one action-focus the other one stealthy. But the much too hard difficulty level and the more than stupid AI tear every bit of fun out of Shadow Harvest.

Fast & Furious Crossroads is quite similar to the associated movies. Both have the same voice actors, a couple of nice action sequences and a shitload of issues: Poorly written dialogue, a story full of plotholes and unlikeable characters combined with imprecise car controls make the game an unappealing mess.

One or two nice ideas and the unconventional main character do not save Gollum from boring gameplay, clunky controls and a technique that even Sauron would find too cruel.

The concept sounds good – bringing the complex X-Universe more comfortably to life, with improved handling and management. But the release version is a disaster, filled with many bugs and design issues, that neither satisfies veteran fans nor newcomers. We stopped reviewing the game after more than 40 hours playing it, ended up in patched version 1.13, but still it is not satisfying because of bugs.

Code Violet joins the long line of bad Dino Crisis clones and disappoints across the board.

Raven’s Cry tries to establish a dark and brutal revenge-character among related pirate games like Risen 3 or AC 4: Black Flag. The result of the release version 1.00 is quite disappointing. Though the naval battles are somewhat fun, there are too many bugs and technical issues in the entire game. The voice acting is awful, the graphics poor, the story/plot could be so much more exciting, but it is filled with dumb dialogue. The islands can be explored in some kind of way like it has to be in an open-world game, but there is almost nothing to explore. The melee-combat is worse, as are the AI, stealth-feature and terrible animation bugs. A big patch will be released, but even if it fixes technical problems, the game still suffers from bad design, poor story and boring characters.

The Pro Evolution Soccer series was all the time a worthy opponent for the popular football simulation FIFA. But the newest game from Konami eFootball 2022 has lost all of its glory of the past. The biggest problem of the title is not the small scope with only two gamemodes, nine licensed clubs and six stadiums, it’s the horrendous gameplay. The switch to the Unreal Engine does absolutely not work for the new football simulation from Konami. There is a lot of work to do in the next weeks, to make this game enjoyable and playable.

Terrible physics, shoddy controls and unfair AI-Opponents bury the once great Flatout series under a pile of Chaos & Destruction.

Citadels makes Stronghold 3 look like a masterpiece.

The War Z: The foundation-release of Hammerpoint Interactive's zombie-mmog is just a disaster. Missing features, technical problems, bugs, server hacks – there are so many things to be fixed, that it's hard to believe this project could ever be a smooth-running game.

This game is a shame for all bikers in the world. The plot is dumb, the graphics and sounds are poor, the gameplay is stupid. It’s just a wild mixture of shooting-sequences, beat-em-up and boring bike-driving that is just a simple test of your reflexes. There’s no cool atmosphere, no exciting storytelling, it’s just a complete waste of money and time.

Totally uninspired Wipeout rip-off that has horrible flaws in track design and lacks variety.

Knightmare Tower shows again, that the simplest ideas are often the best. Great accessibility and a excellently balanced upgrade system make this an ideal candidate for a quick dose of fun prior to going to bed. There may not be much to Knightmare Tower, but what’s on offer here, is polished to a brilliant shine.

With improved exploration mechanics, richly detailed locations and intriguing puzzle design The Room Two surpasses its predecessor in every way. Storytelling is still a weak spot though.

Thanks to its varied missions, co-op mode and solid presentation Halo Wars: Definitive Edition is a welcome addition to the PC library, despite the poorly adapted interface and heavy price tag.

Deformers could be a great game. It has cute graphics, a clear gameplay and a lot to offer. But the problem is: there’s nobody to play against, because there are no players online.

The standard Lego procedure with a story that works very well. All in all it's a solid, but not really surprising, Lego game.
