Soulstorm offers a good rewriting of Abe's Exodus with updated graphics and gamepaly. For sure, it's a common die and retry game, but the variety of situations proposed is modernizing this old concept. With an IA sometimes full of bugs, the title is also a bit repetitive, but we still get attached to the destiny of this oppressed people superbly highlighted. Soulstorm is nevertheless an addictive experience if you accept its proposition.- MGG

Although some may be growing tired of the Ultimate Alliance formula, this edition serves up another welcome feast of comic-book action. It has an effective, current narrative with solid pacing, and demonstrates a strong desire to do right by the fans. There is content for days, the character roster is deep and well-chosen, and the voice acting is great. Overall, Ultimate Alliance 3 is a timeless beat 'em up which perfectly pays tribute to the variety of the Marvel universe.- MGG

King's Bounty II is a remarkable installment within the genre of tactical RPGs, providing a simple battle system, but at the same time, with many layers of depth for those who want to get the most out of it. Accompanied by a medieval / fantastic setting, which offers extremely beautiful areas, and, even without standing out in its narrative plot, or in its open world, it delivers a lot of potential and, surely, it will be a trough of hours for many users.- MGG

Without proposing any incredible new features, this title is a successful port, adapted to the Switch's requirements. It is pleasant to (re)discover it, with improved graphics that help dynamise the investigations. Available at an honest price, Layton's Mystery Journey: Katrielle and the Millionaires' Conspiracy is a good way to get into the license. Those who have not yet solved the mysteries of the 3DS version will certainly enjoy it.- MGG

Steel Division 2 succeeds in its challenge of being more complete, epic and tedious. The Army General mode is the biggest addition, and is challenging enough that it should keep strategists on their toes for a while. The available arsenal is colossal, and can be modified in depth so that players can have fun in Skirmish mode on its 28 maps — some of which are gigantic. It's a beautiful, well-finished game, with its only downsides being the poor pathing of the AI and cruel lack of a tutorial for newcomers.- MGG

While FPS are not initially designed to be played on consoles , the Switch is a nice one to play Overwatch on, as long as it's on a wide screen. The experience is similar to playing on a PS4 or Xbox and the controller allows a good gameplay immersion. The Switch doesn't provide ultra graphics as on PC, of course, but it does a good job delivering a beautiful image. If the portable mode enthusiasts might find what they're looking for, we still recommend you play with the controller.- MGG

Mixing the well-known mechanics of Destiny with a Gears of War-like gameplay, Outriders is a good game. But, even if we can get bored very quickly of its gameplay, the class and character progression systems compensate a little, by inviting us to make our character always more powerful. Even if it doesn't revolutionize the looter shooter genre, Outriders has a few arguments capable of convincing those used to TPS.- MGG

It was a good idea to adapt Dragon Ball Z in a game that was not only based on combat, but also on the adventure aspect. In addition to playing Goku, being able to play other Z Warriors while customizing their attacks and traveling through the rich universe offered by Akira Toriyama's work is quite fun. Unfortunately, the poor execution and the large but superficial content greatly spoil the enjoyment. The side quests are basic and uninteresting, so we'll tend to focus on the main story. Luckily, the soundscape, the cinematics and some fight scenes make up for it, along with the fidelity to the original work. Nevertheless, Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot isn't the great adaptation we were all waiting for.- MGG

With Rage 2, Id Sofware and Avalanche combines their expertise to create a FPS in an open world with exciting but repetitive fights. If the superpowers and weapons unlocked in the Arches allow you to have fun for a few hours, the big lack of stakes changes everything. You can count about ten main missions, mixed with mandatory micro-objectives, before seeing the end of the adventure, i.e. 6 to 8 hours in one go. It is possible to complete all the secondary objectives of the map in order to gain more power, but without any real goal to achieve. What's the point then?- MGG

Whether you like the new "chibi" art direction of the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl remakes or not, you have to admit that a lot of fans will be happy to see the Gen 4 back on Nintendo Switch. Despite a lack of real new features and some flaws in the graphics, it's a real treat to be able to play again this iconic game with good tech on the Switch. Especially since (re)discovering Sinnoh is a great way to remember the area and better enjoy the return to the past with Legends Arceus.- MGG

Although a short and not providing all the answers to the questions it raises, Draugen, with its intoxicating atmosphere and the taste of Norwegian countryside, offers us a good time in the company of the protagonists with their charming relationships. Soaked with a soundtrack that seduces us from the very first notes, the story, in which our role will consist in following, without being able to influence it, like a spectator, has in any case kept us on our toes.- MGG

Mario Strikers Battle League Football could be a strong contender to your other games for a summer of football. With its simplistic look hiding much more complex mechanics to master and an equipment system that can shape your characters, it can suit beginners who just want to have fun, but also more experienced players who are looking for a little more technical mastery with the controller in hand. In case you want to spend some time alone in your corner, this might not be the perfect title for you since it is focused on multiplayer and the Club Strikers mode which is the feature that can keep the game alive in the long run.- MGG

The title has many qualities, especially aesthetic. However, once the graphic slap is over, the various flaws of the game present themselves to the player. The sublime artistic direction and the worked out narration are extremely attractive, however, the slowness and repetitiveness of the game means that it will certainly not be appreciated by everyone. But for the player ready to take his time, Haven is a true meditation exercise because of its relaxing and minimalist side.- MGG

With House of Ashes, Supermassive Games takes a more action oriented that some may regret. It is also less horrific, but still relies on effective dilemmas to guide its story. As for the graphics, they can be beautiful as well as a bit overdone and suffer from a sometimes strange facial animation. And although it still needs to be improved, we welcome the switch to free camera, as well as the 3 difficulty levels proposed for the QTEs. Still as cinematic as ever, the title offers us an adventure around a Sumerian legend with an undeniable replayability and which is perfectly suited to multiplayer games with friends.- MGG

The Walking - Dead Saints & Sinners: Chapter 2 - Retribution still shines with its physics engine and the interactions it allows, offering a nice immersion in its universe with a successful atmosphere. Apart from new interesting weapons and night exploration, it brings very few novelties and is much more directional, putting more action on the confrontations than on its story or its characters. It is still a very good game, but it looks more like a DLC than an original title. So newcomers should rather go to the first episode before playing it, especially since it doesn't help much to understand the context if you missed the beginning.- MGG

Straight from a Z-series movie, Zombie Army 4: Dead War, despite an inevitable repetition, only 4 maps in Horde mode and a certain lack of variety in weapons, proves to be a good release with high quality graphics. Although we regret that it tries to capitalize on micro-transactions, we appreciate its gory aspect and the feeling of power provided by the heavy weapons that allow you to exterminate zombies by the thousand.- MGG

Inspired by Pixar, Bugsnax offers us a gameplay that is both strange and surprising and that could well touch any generation of players. Made for the general public, the game developed by the studio behind Octodad is colorful in many ways. Between quirky humor and creatures to collect (and to eat), Bugsnax remains above all an adventure game with narration and quests to follow. It will not be enough to just put your brain down but also to think about the different "puzzles" that will be offered to you to capture the bugs half food half insect. That said, even though Bugsnax offers a real mix of quests, adventure and collection, it could be quite confusing and not everyone will like it. One thing's for sure: the game is original.- MGG

A redundant roguelite with no real character upgrades (apart from equipment) and no rewards worthy of the name, a farm game with no plantations or romance with the characters, and a restaurant simulation that goes no further than serving customers. Although it doesn't go far enough in the three genres Cuisineer draws on, this cosy game does live up to its promise. Addictive despite its redundancy, it embodies this perfect blend of styles, offering a lightness that feels good and makes you want to finish it 100%.- MGG

Atomfall is a likeable game, managing to offer an interesting adventure despite a few clumsinesses and flaws stemming from its limited resources, such as combat and an infiltration system with superficial mechanisms. Exploring every nook and cranny of the zone is at the heart of the experience, and is unquestionably the most successful and engaging aspect. The possibility of finding multiple ways of progressing to complete the story is also appreciated. This is a game worth discovering, if you're waiting for a sale or a price reduction. Waiting for future DLC and updates, which should enrich the gaming experience, might also be wise.- MGG

Fallback is a funny little twist brought to an old-fashioned genre. With only one difficulty mode, three levels, and characters that all look the same, it can be finished in one evening, but the experience is pleasant. However, we cannot get rid of the impression that it is a prototype for a broader and more ambitious game, or that it was destined to be much larger.- MGG

Throne and Liberty would undoubtedly have required a few more months of development to correct the many bugs that plague new players. The universe is clean, the interface and icons are neat, progression is sound and the gameplay is fluid and dynamic. Of course, Throne and Liberty won't be able to compete with the premium tenors of the MMO genre any time soon. But it's got everything it takes to make its mark, with a dynamic open world at its heart, which requires you to exist within it, rather than serve as a dumb launching pad for leveling.- MGG

Even more efficient than its predecessor, Switch Sports has won us over with the technicality offered by certain disciplines such as Chambara or Volleyball, with the precision of the Joy-Con movements and especially with the implementation of a competitive ranking. Unfortunately, to enjoy this incredible "esport" addition, matches against players from all over the world or even cosmetics to customize your avatar, you need to have the Online subscription. Of course, it is possible to enjoy the title locally with friends, but the strength of Switch Sports lies in its competitive version.- MGG

This remastered version of Mafia II features improved graphics and nice lighting effects, but the title can't deny its age due to the slightly rough and stiff characters. The open world remains limited to the place you're supposed to visit, and NPCs have behaviors that don't necessarily help make them credible. However, the storyline is interesting from the beginning to the end and the thrilling soundtrack of the title help to overcome its small imperfections. And, icing on the cake, the fact that all 3 DLCs are included allows you to enjoy Empire Bay a little more if you found the main adventure too short and want to continue your life as a gangster.- MGG

Avatar Frontiers of Pandora is a well-made licensed product. Without ever making a fuss, Lightstorm's title immerses us in the universe imagined by James Cameron thanks to a visually superb open world, but whose recipe has been around for a long time. Far Cry's skeleton is no longer solid-boned, and while it's more than enough to keep you going for 20 to 25 hours, it's unlikely that you'll retain anything from the experience, unless you're a hardcore fan of the license it's based on.- MGG

Two years later, the same assessment can be made for Phoenix Point, even if it is an interesting tactical game with potential, it is still not finished. Some of the bugs have been fixed, and the content has been greatly enriched by the DLC included in this edition, but shortcuts have been taken, which spoiled their potential, and no effort has been made to really integrate them into the whole. Balancing is still an issue, and progression can become frustrating if you increase the difficulty. As for the console port, it's satisfactory in terms of controller controls, but you'll need to have a lot of patience to tolerate the excessively long load times.- MGG

Years go by and look the same, but this year it really feels like EA Sports has taken into account the community's feedback for its new opus. Right now FIFA 21 is a very good game, but the big question is, "Will it stay so as the season progresses?" Only time will tell, just hoping that the updates don't alter the current gameplay of FIFA 21 too much, which is pretty good. The new features in the different game modes are a real plus and maybe that's what we as football fans expected. FIFA 21 is a good game, with very interesting content. EA Sports now has all the cards in hand to keep it that way throughout the season.- MGG

If you want a game to be fun above all else, then Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin might be for you. However, it is necessary to have a certain distance on the whole of the new production of Team Ninja, since it is filled witch clichés that should absolutely not be taken at face value in order to be appreciated as it should be. Skillfully mixing the gameplay of Nioh with the jobs and worlds of Final Fantasy in settings unworthy of our time, FFO is the very definition of guilty pleasure. A good game, not to be put in all hands.- MGG

Dragon Quest Monsters Le Prince des Ombres will bring back memories for fans of Dragon Quest IV, and will be convincing for fans of the license or of J-RPGs. However, it may also hold back the arrival of new players, as its technical aspects may pose a problem, despite a really advanced synthesis system, an excellent soundtrack and good ideas such as the season system. In the end, the best way to find out whether it's for you or not is to play the demo.- MGG

Life Is Strange: Reunion is better than its predecessor, but it struggles to truly rekindle the spark that players felt when playing the first games in the series. The game clearly plays on players’ nostalgia by focusing its plot on Max and Chloe’s reunion, and the characters surrounding them are endearing and fairly well-written. However, that isn’t enough to make up for a storyline that’s sometimes unconvincing and some real technical shortcomings. We still had a good time, though, and it’s a nice conclusion to Max and Chloe’s story.- MGG

Dark Devotion doesn't invent anything, that's for sure. On the other hand, he is a very good copier and knows how to pick right and left to be inspired and propose a Rogue Like as an attractive pixel art that will certainly not change the vision of the genre, but should bring a significant dose to fans of the genre who need their regular fix. The Castlevania marriage with Dark souls works perfectly and promises long hours to anyone who wants to explore everything. It is also recommended for neophytes of the genre, because even if it can be punitive at times, it is less so than others.- MGG
