While more accessible than Returnal, Saros is still a real gameplay knockout. Its overly cryptic world will likely leave many players in the dust, and the replayability typical of roguelikes isn’t necessarily there, but it makes up for it with a string of memorable bosses and new ways to utilize Arjun’s abilities. As with Housemarque’s previous game, this is undoubtedly one of the best PS5 exclusives.- MGG

Aimed at players aged 7 to 77, Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is a quirky game with an original concept and undeniable charm. More engaging than its 3DS predecessor, this unique life simulation combines absurd situations with a high degree of customization. And even if boredom starts to set in quickly, you always end up coming back to see how your Miis are doing.- MGG

Pragmata is a prime example of Capcom’s undeniable expertise in action gaming. With its original concept executed to perfection, the Japanese publisher takes risk, and it suits them perfectly. The adventures of Hugh and Diana stand out thanks to combat that blends strategic thinking, fast-paced shooting, and tactical weapon selection. A must-have for seasoned gamers looking to break free from the usual constraints of third-person shooters.- MGG

Life Is Strange: Reunion is better than its predecessor, but it struggles to truly rekindle the spark that players felt when playing the first games in the series. The game clearly plays on players’ nostalgia by focusing its plot on Max and Chloe’s reunion, and the characters surrounding them are endearing and fairly well-written. However, that isn’t enough to make up for a storyline that’s sometimes unconvincing and some real technical shortcomings. We still had a good time, though, and it’s a nice conclusion to Max and Chloe’s story.- MGG

Crimson Desert’s best moments come when you think about the game it could have been, were it not for its overabundance of clunky mechanics and its painfully sluggish controls. Riddled with glitches and systems that don’t work, Pearl Abyss’s first single-player game can rely on its sublime open world, or its core management system borrowed from BDO, to occasionally lift us out of our frustration.- MGG

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is an excellent game that manages to improve on almost everything its predecessor had to offer. It's more beautiful, with improved gameplay, whether in terms of interesting and visually impressive combat or the rich monster breeding system. It's surprisingly difficult at times, but in a good way, giving you a good reason to improve your team. We would have liked to see even more challenges at high levels, although there's already plenty to keep you busy. MSH3 also has its share of minor flaws, with an often clumsy storyline, a missing gene bank, and the removal of the multiplayer mode, which had potential.- MGG

By taking the best ideas from Dragon Quest Builders and adapting them to Pokémon, Pokopia offers a proven formula that works well. With its extensive Pokédex and numerous secrets, Koei Tecmo's game delivers the essentials, but ultimately becomes tiresome. After an exciting initial discovery phase, the excitement eventually fizzles out, and what could have been a must-have for the Switch 2 ends up being just a decent experience for fans of pocket monsters.- MGG

It's difficult to rate a remastered game like Tales of Berseria. The quality of the title released in 2017 is undeniable, and it ranks among the very best in the Tales of franchise, but we have to take into account what this new version actually brings to the table. It has to be said that, for $40, the graphical, technical, and content improvements leave something to be desired and do little to justify purchasing the game for those who already own the PS4 version. Nevertheless, the fact that this release on the current generation of consoles brings some improvements in terms of comfort and all the additional content released for the game may be a very good thing for players who have never had the chance to follow the story of Velvet Crowe. All in all, we recommend Tales of Remastered to JRPG fans who have never played the game before and to those who want to indulge in nostalgia; for everyone else, give it a miss.- MGG

Reigns: The Witcher is a solid addition that will appeal to fans of the franchise looking for a little game to play during their downtime. It's fun and surprisingly rich, with interesting combat that is optional depending on the gaming experience you're looking for. It's a pleasure to see the characters from The Witcher in a different context, with a wide variety of narratives to choose from. Apart from a few clumsy moments in terms of overall balance, the game's real flaws lie in its mobile-friendly interface and a lack of ambition in its execution.- MGG

Thirty years of Resident Evil are condensed into the fifteen hours or so of Requiem, which in itself is quite a feat for Capcom. Frightening with Grace, stressful with Leon, RE9 offers two diametrically opposed perspectives for an explosive cocktail that leaves a strong impression. It's a shame, however, that its final act feels “unfinished,” leaving a bitter aftertaste once the credits roll.- MGG

God of War Sons of Sparta isn't a bad game, but there's almost nothing that sets it apart from the competition. It's not very pretty, the combat isn't particularly unique, and there are clumsy moments throughout. Comparing it to Hollow Knight: Silksong or other independent Metroidvania games, which are cheaper, doesn't do it any favors. Its co-op mode could have made a difference if it weren't so poorly designed. We would recommend it more to die-hard fans of the God of War franchise than to experts of the Metroidvania genre.- MGG

Very stylish and with high-quality staging ideas, Romeo is a Dead Man is nevertheless a merely adequate game that we would find difficult to recommend wholeheartedly. Reanimal is a satisfying horror experience, especially in local co-op, plunging you into a waking nightmare from which you will clearly not emerge unscathed. It's beautiful, it's good, and it has perfectly decent content: ultimately, what more could you ask for? In their eagerness to streamline the original experience, Square Enix and Hexadrive have gone too far with this new version of the cult classic Dragon Quest VII, stripping away some of its charm. Its concept and effective gameplay remain intact, but it's hard not to grimace when you realise that the game has removed all form of challenge and the need for exploration. A remake that is a little too effective, then, but one that will at least allow as many people as possible to discover this monument of Japanese RPGs with a big heart.- MGG

Nioh 3 adds its own contribution to the series, with gameplay that is richer and more demanding than ever, and formidable bosses that require players to make good use of all the mechanics available to them. The more open and free structure of the world also allows players to explore and progress at their own pace, mitigating the difficulty. It's a shame that the level design tends to suffer as a result, while the clunkiness of previous titles tends to get worse, with an unsuitable interface and equipment management that is far too time-consuming in our opinion. This sequel should appeal to fans, but it may struggle to win over a new audience, especially with its increased price tag.- MGG

Octopath Traveler 0 offers a different structure from its predecessors, with gameplay that sometimes stands out significantly, usually in a good way. Even though there are many clichés of the genre and no real freedom is offered, the story manages to be touching when it needs to be. It doesn't shy away from tackling difficult themes that you wouldn't expect given its artistic direction. It's another successful addition to the series, although it's a shame that various overlooked aspects detract from the overall result, such as the lack of French localization and slightly inferior graphics.- MGG

After all these years of waiting, it's hard not to consider Metroid Prime 4 a bit of a disappointment. While the core gameplay is still as good as ever and there are still some flashes of brilliance in the level design, it's impossible to ignore the scars of what we can only guess was a tortuous development process. Where Winds Meet is a surprising game in many ways, and if you manage to get through its unbearable first few hours, you may well find yourself drawn into its open world with its thousand promises. Completely free, once you get past the skin system, Everstone's title combines the combat of Sekiro with the exploration of Genshin Impact, incorporating MMO components that suit it perfectly. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 leaves a truly mixed impression. The campaign, which is too arcade-like and too similar to Zombie mode, lacks charm, pace, and consistency. Multiplayer offers solid content for a launch, but strays into excessive futurism that breaks the readability. Fortunately, Zombie mode clearly saves the day: complete, coherent, demanding, and fun, it recaptures the spirit of the best installments. Ultimately, this Call of Duty is solid in places, but very unbalanced when you look at it in detail. It feels like there was no balance in the development of each game mode. Some modes, notably Zombie, received more attention than others.- MGG

Kirby's Air Riders veers off course and never rises above the status of ‘good game’, even though it has enormous potential. Its gameplay, which is easy to play but difficult to master, is really well done, as is the track design, which lends itself to unlikely turnarounds. The Outer Worlds 2 retains the strengths of the first title, with rich dialogue and storytelling, while surpassing it on almost every technical level. The dialogue and choices available remain the main strengths of this sequel, while other aspects prove uneven and not always very convincing, such as combat or the omnipresence of skill requirements, for example. Ninja Gaiden 4 is a treat for action gamers, with visually stunning sequences and a great feel. Unfortunately, the game's frenetic pace is punctuated by a few slow moments and can become repetitive at times due to a lack of variety in the enemy roster. Battlefield 6 marks the grand return of a franchise that fully embraces its heritage while modernizing its foundations. DICE has managed to reaffirm the strategic DNA of the series that was lost in Battlefield 2042: cooperation, reading the terrain, and mastery of equipment still take precedence over the reflexes and chaos typical of the competition. The shooting mechanics are more balanced, soldier mobility is much better calibrated, and the maps, which are exceptionally rich, offer truly exhilarating diversity. Admittedly, the single-player campaign lacks scope and some multiplayer modes still need tweaking, but the core gameplay remains solid, fast-paced, and rewarding. With 45 weapons at launch, nine carefully designed maps, ambitious content tracking, and the promise of regular updates, Battlefield 6 unashamedly ranks among the best installments in the franchise.- MGG

Little Nightmares 3 follows in the footsteps of its two predecessors. An adventure in dark and disturbing worlds designed to reflect the nightmares of Low and Alone. The formula is identical, with the only difference being that this time, the adventure is experienced by two players. This twist isn't necessarily executed in the best way, as the co-op aspect doesn't make a huge difference to the game, with puzzles that are fairly easy to solve. Very enjoyable and more pleasant to play than Dying Light 2 in some respects, thanks in particular to its highly satisfying parkour and no-frills adventure, Dying Light the Beast remains a minor episode in Techland's series. Despite a smaller play area and a very short campaign, the game still ends up becoming repetitive after a few hours, due to uninteresting side activities and a poorly constructed map. Ultimately, EA Sports FC 26 is still a more interesting version than its predecessor, with a large number of teams, substantial content, and increasingly comprehensive gameplay thanks to its separation into two distinct styles. Of course, it's far from perfect, and this is evident in a number of areas, such as optimization, particularly on PC, and the various bugs that can be encountered during games. So, is it worth the price? So, is Silent Hill f a worthy representative of the cult saga? The answer is nuanced. Yes, certain elements remind us of what we love about Silent Hill: a chilling soundscape, memorable bosses, an oppressive atmosphere. But no, it's not the rebirth we were hoping for: the graphics are disappointing, the story lacks maturity, and, above all, the combat system weighs down the experience. I wouldn't say that Silent Hill f is a bad game. It contains interesting ideas, moments of grace, and proves that the franchise still has something to say. But it's not yet the big comeback that will put the first Silent Hill games back at the top of survival horror. In short, Silent Hill f is a step sideways. Not the revolution we were hoping for, but an attempt that will hopefully pave the way for a more ambitious future.- MGG

Hollow Knight: Silksong almost lives up to the community's insane expectations, which is quite an achievement in itself. Its production values are incredible for an indie game, and it's paired with solid gameplay and impressively rich content. Its main problem is its overly steep difficulty curve, combined with a few balancing issues and other clumsy design choices that are likely to frustrate players. Without these issues, it would be almost perfect. This is not a game for the mainstream audience, and in many ways, it proves to be more demanding and punishing than the titles that serve as benchmarks in this area, such as Dark Souls. Lost Soul Aside is far from being as bad as its online ratings and reviews would suggest. Despite its apparent shortcomings and “amateurish” feel, the China Hero Project has a certain charm and, above all, extremely dynamic and addictive gameplay that carries the game. Despite its 10 years of development and unique story, the game suffers from a noticeable lack of budget and, above all, an abominable prologue, but it manages to offer an appealing experience once you get past the first hour, even if it is full of imperfections. To complete the story of Cronos: The New Dawn, you need to play for around 20 hours, which is actually enough. Admittedly, there is sometimes a slight feeling of redundancy, particularly with regard to the monsters and bosses, where I really felt like I was fighting one battle after another at one point, but this is quickly forgotten thanks to the environment, gameplay, and story. Hell is Us is another title that would have been better suited to being a movie rather than a game. Rather than focusing on Souls-like action or puzzles to offer solid gameplay, it attempts to combine these two radically different genres, and the result is disappointing. Finding an audience looking for both of these experiences at once is difficult enough, but they have also been treated superficially, even clumsily, because of this ill-advised compromise. It is therefore unlikely that they will satisfy the majority of players. This is all the more unfortunate given that the overall production is of fairly good quality and the atmosphere is sometimes incredible. Hell is Us confronts us with the horrors of war in a way that few games dare to do, but its message risks being lost in the wanderings of the gameplay.- MGG

Whether you're a soccer fan or a football hater, if you like team games where individual skill is as important as knowledge of the game and trust in your partners, chances are you'll have a great time with Rematch. By bringing together everything that makes soccer a popular and enjoyable game, and changing the zenithal point of view for a much more immersive approach, Sloclap has once again succeeded in revolutionizing a genre that has been well established for years. Rematch is a shot of instant fun that will surprise any skeptic and make you feel like a pro right away, but will also remind you every two minutes that you need more practice. But while it's absolutely exhilarating to play Rematch, this pleasure is marred by a glaring lack of finishing touches, the absence of local multiplayer and server problems that we hope will soon disappear.- MGG

Although many elements of Rune Factory Guardians of Azuma remain fairly classic, this spin-off is perfectly suited to players who want to discover the universe of this franchise. And it doesn't forget the fans of the early days, since they'll be able to discover village management or the changes made to make the experience more enjoyable, even if many of the codes you're already familiar with are still present. After all, it's worth mentioning that it comes at a hefty price, which may put a damper on your desire to buy it.- MGG

With its open-world bias, Mario Kart World stands out directly from the rest of the series with a structure that destabilizes, and it's double-edged. The sublime panoramas offered by the arrival on the circuits and the extensive search for shortcuts clash with the long transition straights and a free roam mode that lacks true rewards. Nevertheless, this is still a high-quality title, with gameplay of unprecedented depth for the series, supported by a new Survival mode that is clearly the star of this new episode.- MGG

Elden Ring Nightreign is aimed at the most dedicated of FromSoftware's titles, as it condenses the best and the worst into a new, original format. At last, a Soulslike designed for true cooperative play. It's an intense, non-stop race, requiring you to concentrate for 45 minutes, while taking on difficult bosses and having to avoid making almost the slightest mistake. It's very addictive and you literally can't see the time go by, but it's exhausting and clearly not for everyone. It's a lot of fun, but you can't help but be frustrated by the studio's bad habits: an archaic interface, missing features, dubious balancing, but also a massive amount of recycling from previous titles, without offering the rich content we'd expect in return.- MGG

Doom The Dark Ages is a game of contrasts. It experiments with mechanics new to the license and a new historical context, but their integration is superficial or poorly thought-out. The shield overshadows everything else in combat, while the dragon and mecha are simply disappointing. Nor does the game give us the impression of being plunged into a dark age. This new opus isn't bad, however, since it contains all the basic elements we've come to appreciate in modern Doom games. Players looking for intense combat against a backdrop of consistently excellent heavy metal should still find something to enjoy.- MGG

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is one of the best surprises of recent years. An XXL production from a small, passionate team, immersive, polished, addictive gameplay and told to perfection. A real lesson and a new benchmark for all JRPG enthusiasts, it should satisfy all fans of the genre, and particularly the generation that grew up with FF7, 8, 9 and 10, and that has less and less faith in Square Enix to make a really good new JRPG. A slap in the face we won't soon forget, and what's more, it's French - not bad, eh?- MGG

With its rare intelligence, Blue Prince is a title with a unique concept that clearly won't appeal to everyone. Demanding a great deal of patience on the part of the player, its roguelite structure also adds randomness to the mansion's various mysteries, which is likely to cause some frustration. If we had to describe Bleach Rebirth of Souls in a few words, it would surely be a solid foundation for the sequel, because yes, even if it does have its flaws, it's still a pleasure to discover if you're a fan of the license, and above all a source of hope if other opuses ever see the light of day. Its story mode is very complete, even if we would have preferred it to be more balanced. The gameplay is fun to play once you've mastered it, despite the slowness of the movements, and the roster is adequate, even if there are a few absentees.- MGG

Atomfall is a likeable game, managing to offer an interesting adventure despite a few clumsinesses and flaws stemming from its limited resources, such as combat and an infiltration system with superficial mechanisms. Exploring every nook and cranny of the zone is at the heart of the experience, and is unquestionably the most successful and engaging aspect. The possibility of finding multiple ways of progressing to complete the story is also appreciated. This is a game worth discovering, if you're waiting for a sale or a price reduction. Khazan is pure hardcore souls-like, with gameplay and progression systems that add to the classic formula, and the final result is really enjoyable to play. Neople's game is visually appealing, with a dark fantasy universe halfway between Dark Souls and Berserk, and very well-polished Tales of art direction. An excellent, addictive game that doesn't reinvent the formula, but remains solid enough to be one of the best games of the new year. It will nevertheless slow down some players who get tired of being destroyed by certain bosses, but the satisfaction at the end is well worth the hundreds of times you see the Game Over screen.- MGG

While Xenoblade Chronicles X has received a minor graphical facelift, at most, in this Definitive Edition, it's the opus as a whole that's to be acclaimed. Whether it's its version from 10 years ago on Wii U or this new entry to finish off the franchise's remasters in style on Nintendo Switch, Xeno Cross has all the makings of a great one and is, for many, the best opus in the saga.It shows just how much Monolith Soft knows when it comes to charming, content-filled open worlds. With Atelier Yumia L'Alchimiste des Souvenirs and La Terre Rêvée, Gust shows us that the choice of appropriating a formula that works elsewhere can also be beneficial for a franchise like Atelier, taking it into a new era. Unfortunately, Avowed isn't that famous new Skyrim made-in-2025, with its vast, intoxicating universe, updated gameplay and narration worthy of the greatest games. The result is rather mediocre and dated, both visually and in terms of gameplay, taking us back a decade, and not for the right reasons.A disappointment considering the game's potential and the solid foundations on which it could have been built, and which is one of those games where you think “with X more months of development, maybe we've got something solid”. All in all, Hello Kitty Island Adventure offers a surprisingly pleasant routine, almost as enjoyable as that of Animal Crossing New Horizons, with the desire to return each day to offer daily gifts, complete missions and explore the vast open world. Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is a game like no other. Although it's far from flawless, with its questionable balancing and notable lack of polish at the time of writing. It nevertheless manages to improve on the first title in many areas. The choices made in the direction are to be commended. It really does give the impression of being plunged into the Middle Ages, with all that is dirty, vulgar and repulsive, but also with all that is glorious. Civilization 7 strikes the right balance between retaining everything that has made recent titles so successful and innovating. It's not just another game in the license, the age system revolutionizes the way the game is played, encouraging new ways of thinking and playing. Each age is unique, with its own challenges. Add to this the efforts made to reduce micromanagement and make progression simpler and more intuitive without detracting from its depth, and it could well appeal to new players. However, not everything is perfect: even on PC, there are technical problems to be noted, and the usual AI and interface issues to complain about. Some popular features and options are also missing. With a tedious grip that clashes horribly with the relaxing nature in which Infinity Nikki excels, I wonder whether the choice to turn it into a Genshin Impact-style “gacha game” was a wise one. Fortunately, the sheer number of menus and the difficulty of mastering them, in addition to the annoying style contests, are the only major negative points to highlight. Dynasty Warriors Origins is a new formula that dares to take risks, and we think it's going to pay off! To reach a wider audience, it was certainly necessary to break with the codes that kept the series somewhat stuck in the past. Here, new players will have the opportunity to discover the world of the 3 Kingdoms and the advantages of a “Musou”-style game, while fans will rediscover what made the series so strong: its story, its satisfying gameplay and its generosity. Technically, the title is very solid, packed with content, beautiful at times and, above all, generous. We regret the absence of the free mode, which didn't cost much to install, and the uneven graphics. STALKER 2 Heart of Chornobyl is a difficult, immersive and often frustrating game. Few compromises have been made, making the gameplay as brutal as the universe in which it takes place. Progress is slow and painful, especially with the many bugs present, while death can be as sudden as it is unfair. It requires a solid dose of patience, but it has to be said that exploring the area is well worth it, with all its dangers and mysteries that we try to unravel. First of all, its campaign: exceptional and very long-lasting, the developers have succeeded in mixing gruffness and subtlety, and we're not in a race for action at any price. The HQ system is a nice touch, allowing you to learn more about past history and characters, and the storyline is admittedly out of the ordinary. What's more, the work done on the environments is quite insane, and on PS5 we had no texture problems whatsoever. As for Multiplayer and Zombies, there will certainly be some happy and some unhappy players, but as far as we're concerned, there's not much to say except that we loved them!
