A different, wild trip on the same island, this history showing Sergeant "Psycho" Sykes makes Crysis Warhead not only a technical achievement, showing the best graphics on a PC yet, but a great example of fast-paced strategic action, making it a game that, more than a spin-off, can stand by its own.- Meristation

Human Revolution is a superb refinement of the design ideas of Deus Ex. It's not so groundbreaking, but it compensates for it with an excellent taste for identifying the best elements of the Ion Storm classic and improving them, mixing in some great ideas of their own, like the use of the third person camera for infiltration and cover. A great sense of freedom, a compelling story, fantastic visual design and a terrific demonstration of excellence make Eidos Montreal a force to be reckoned with in the industry.- Meristation

Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice is a unique and special proposal whose core is in the treatment of psychosis and its masterful recreation. Set in the Viking era with interesting mythological stories and legends. The graphics are more than remarkable and the sound effects and music are excellent, recreating the voices that the protagonist listens to in his head. Playability is based on the combination of puzzles based on illusions and perspective, in addition to various challenging combat sequences that will not make things easy for us. It's not a game for everyone, but it will please and amaze those willing to live a different story and to delve into the deepest darkness that can harbor a sick mind.- Meristation

It might seem that Alan Wake is essentially the same game that was released on Xbox 360 two years ago. Nothing could be further from the truth. Remedy has worked hard to adapt the psychological thriller to a platform that should never have waited so long. Better graphics, 3D support, and additional content including DLC. The only excuse for not buying Alan Wake for PC is that you already got bored of it on console. Even if so... you should give it a try.- Meristation

Arkham City is still a superb game in PC and it benefits from some extra features with the right PC, but the delay compared to console versions, the weird mix of Steamwork, GFWL and SecuROM, and some initial perfomance settings with DirectX 11, makes this version a missed opportunity to make something truly great for compatible users.- Meristation

Nintendo teams up again with MercurySteam to bring us the first unreleased adventure of Samus Aran in side scrolling (remakes aside) since the premiere of Metroid Fusion in 2002. The pressure was not little, but Metroid Dread is up to the task. For the control, which lets us handle the bounty hunter in her most agile and precise version; by the design, which branches and extends to offer hours of exploration without taking us by the hand; and for the selection of bosses, who take advantage of the best combat of the saga in its 2D aspect. The robots E.M.M.I. They may test the patience of some players, but they create situations of genuine tension and development doses them enough. So fans of Metroidvania are in luck: Metroid Dread lives up to the saga that popularized this genre in the first place. Now we only have to ask that we don't have to wait another 19 years for the next one.- Meristation

Sadly it fails to bring many improvements in gameplay (except for the addition of more interactive scenarios and the unit combination) and graphics, but in exchange adds the massive my castle function, including its multiplayer functions and online mode. It's disappointing that the good end is exclusive to the downloadable "Revelations" path, though.- Meristation

After two months of waiting, Mirror's Edge has come to the PC. This version is identical to the consoles, but with a few changes to make it more astonishing. The use of the NVIDIA PhysX engine makes the game more realistic and the graphics are smoother thanks to the use of AA filter. One of the most innovative game of 2008 is now even better in 2009.- Meristation

Street Fighter 6 for Switch 2 is everything a fan of the series could hope for, now also in handheld format and with all the extras released so far. The game looks spectacular, especially in handheld mode, although some visual adjustments are noticeable that, ultimately, don't affect the experience.- Meristation

A nordic-esque fable narrated with a feeling of peace and sadness, Brothers A Tale of Two Sons is just the kind of game a fan of Starbreeze's last titles should avoid. The story of two brothers and their journey will take us on a ride similar to other jewels like ICO or Journey. A ride that maybe has a very peculiar use of the pad -simultaneously 1 player cooperative-, but where we can interact with two characters to a level never done before, in a journey of search that requires us to accept its rules and let us go into the experience by the hand.- Meristation

Following the old motto "if it's not broken, don't fix it", Gears of War 2 evolves upon its predecessor expanding the scope, size, possibilities and much more... this new title simply delivers. Clearly not a huge leap in terms of innovation, yet it is Microsoft's best bet and a sure winning title for this Christmas. GoW 2 is as good as a third person shooter can be today and a new benchmark in the genre. Highly recommended.- Meristation

Let's make it clear: Journey was one of the best games of the last generation, period. And now, in PlayStation 4, looks even more beautiful, so even if you played it before, you'll want to check it out again. If not: just enjoy one of the best experiences you'll play on a console.- Meristation

Empire Total War is one of the greatest strategy games ever. A world full of life, with many factions and possibilities, in the chaos of the XVIII century. An excellent game, nearly a masterpiece, that only lacks better visuals to achieve higher goals. Highly recommended to fans of the genre.- Meristation

Mark of the Ninja is a superb take on what a stealth game should be in 2D, offering some lessons to the veterans of the genre. Its visuals and animations reinforce the idea of being a ninja, creating an unmatched spectacle of lights and shadows, while its gameplay offers a growing sense of freedom that rewards imaginative and experimental players. A great triumph for Klei and their best game by far.- Meristation

Burnout Paradise Ultimate Box is a great compilation. It offers the same game as last year's game, but with all the added features that appeared as DLC thought the year. Mario Tennis Aces is the best entry in the series since the GBA title. Its gameplay mechanics are almost perfect as the game feels so smooth in each one of the game surfaces; furthermore, the adventure mode is like a perfect tutorial to canalize the special moves. Beautiful and fun, its only fault is the lack of single player content.- Meristation
