    Finally, we have the return to form that Sonic fans have been waiting for all these years. This isn’t just one of the best Sonic games of recent years, but one of the best Sonic games full stop. You owe it to yourself to get a copy of this masterpiece.

    I can’t begin to describe how happy it makes me to report that not only is Sonic Mania the triumphant return-to-form that fans have been waiting for over the past twenty years, but Christian Whitehead and his team have made the definitive Sonic game. Of course, this may be a tad hyperbolic coming from a longtime Sonic fan like me, but when I have children, this is the Sonic game i’m going to give them. This is a required purchase for anyone who loves this series, and that dope from the playground, wherever he is, can go launch himself into the sun.

    Sonic Mania delivers what fans waited for years. Cool soundtrack, tight controls and awesome graphics really blends in with the atmosphere of Sonic has, just like in the old school Sonic games.

    Sonic Mania successfully takes Sonic back to the formula that saw him become a big deal to begin with. That means it does bring along the flaws in that design as well, but there's no denying this is as good as the Blue Blur has been for a long time.

    Sonic Mania is undoubtedly the true successor of the Sonic classic's spirit, excellent design on the stages, beautiful glorious pixel,Sonic Mania is undoubtedly the true successor of the Sonic classic's spirit, excellent design on the stages, beautiful glorious pixel, familiar control for Sonic and the gang, new bosses, multi-tier platform, made this game a nostalgic joy for all those who grew up with Sonic and the gang.

    This game is still a SONIC game, mind you, so it will not be easy. It will be full of challenges and race against time (and water), but don't be taken aback, because long dedicated fans will surely have no problem with it and instead embrace it more.

    Love you Sonic, and thank you Sega for letting the fans made the game.

    The gameplay is perfect, the visuals beautiful (love the mix between classic and new zones) and the sound brings fans many good memories.

    My only complain is the timer. Sure, it was always there, but the leves are so bigger that i would love to be able to explore ever corner and secret at my pace.

    Anyway, brilliant 2d platformer and easily the best Sonic game since Sonic & Knuckles 10/10.    … Expand

    Sonic Mania is a brilliant display of the franchises best and provides great potential for the future of the series. Its visual style is brilliant and nails the Sega Saturn aesthetic, this can also be said about its soundtrack which I expect nothing less from Tee Lopes. The gameplay feels like a natural progression from Sonic 3K and levels are more open and detailed then ever.

    The only issue i find with Mania is the reuse of zones that take up sixty percent of the zones in the game. However this issue is small as Mania adds twists to the level in the second act of the reused zones, this still leaves the first act though which I feel could have been rectified by making brand new zones altogether.

    Regardless I still find Mania a complete joy and cant wait for a possible sequel that solves this small issue. But until then go ahead and buy this game this is a 90's Platformers paradise that you just cant miss.    … Expand
