Beautiful audiovisuals and heaps of gore almost manage to cover up the lack of innovation in The Callisto Protocol. Everything in this game feels done many, many times before - but nonetheless we're having fun.- M3

Mario Strikers: Battle League Football is a wonderfully chaotic and entertaining football game where violent kicks and punches are as important as good passes. Unfortunately, the lack of content dampens the fun for solo-players, so football-hungry friends or the ability to forgive the limited online mode is a must.- M3

Ghostwire: Tokyo is an odd but thrilling adventure that mixes action, horror and Japanese traditions. Exploring a demon-filled Tokyo is decently frightening, while the battles are both intense and somewhat original. Some repetitive moments and an uneven story lower the experience a few notches, but in the end, the positive parts outweigh the bad ones.- M3

The Smurfs: Mission Vileaf is a surprisingly enjoyable platforming game. The relatively low development budget is noticeable in some ways, but the foundation is solid enough to make it easy to ignore some lack of polish. Battlefield 2042 is huge. In its best moments enormously fun, but just as often enormously frustrating, stressful and difficult to understand. Call of Duty: Vanguard reminds us of the Call of Duty titles from over 15 years ago. And there is nothing wrong with a somewhat stripped-down reboot, but in this case, it feels like a lack of development time is the main reason for the cutbacks. The single player campaign looks terrific and plays great but has very few memorable moments. The zombie mode on the other hand lacks a lot of content at launch. Luckily, the main online mode offers plenty of content and the gameplay is as addicting as ever – even though everything feels very familiar.- M3

Age of Empires 4 is a safe new entry in the classic series. It is both nicer and bigger than before, but at the same time characterized by an extremely familiar feeling. With NHL 22, EA's classic hockey game finally gets a new game engine, which gives us better physics, graphics, and animations. As usual, we also get a ton of different games modes that will make most hockey fans happy. What we do not get, however, is enough notable gameplay improvements. Even though the improved physics helps a fair amount, plenty of old shortcomings remains. That said, NHL 22 is a great hockey game, but there is still room for plenty of improvements.- M3

It's been more than a decade since Left 4 Dead 2 and Turtle Rock is now back to reclaim the throne. Back 4 Blood is not a revolution, though. Instead, it's an evolution of the developer's already excellent gameplay from before. Although we would have liked less of the small flaws we find, it does not stop the game from being a really entertaining and addictive shooter. With human teammates, that is.- M3

Far Cry 6 starts off strong with a haunting and pretty realistic sequence. During the adventure, we get plenty of similar scenes, but also the exact opposite - and everything in between. It creates an incredibly disjointed experience, but it's actually not as bad as it sounds since the actual gameplay is varied and enjoyable. Instead, it is the high number of bugs and, to say the least, strange behavior from some of the computer controlled characters that lowers the enjoyment a notch.- M3

Despite being over 20 years old, Diablo II is a true classic and offers gameplay that holds up very well even today. However, the graphics do not, which makes it fitting that this remaster lovingly repaints the exterior but leaves most of the interior intact. Some parts would have benefited from some modernization however, and the unstable yet more or less mandatory online service can lead to great frustration and in some cases even loss of progress. An unnecessary fault in an otherwise superb remaster.- M3

16 years after the first Psychonauts, the long-awaited sequel is here. A sequel that feels familiar, yet time improved in every way. Just like its predecessor, we get clever platforming, imaginative worlds, and wonderful characters. Unfortunately, we also get substandard battles, uneven level design and a somewhat unpolished package. It is quite noticeable that Psychonauts 2 is a grassroots-funded indie game at its core, but in the end its not all that hard to forgive the faults.- M3

Mario Golf: Super Rush is a well-made and entertaining sports game that shows that Nintendo and Camelot learned their lesson after the content-poor Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash. We especially appreciate the new "Speed golf" mode, which gives the sport a dynamic touch that is otherwise difficult to find. However, we do miss some elements from previous games, such as minigolf and gameplay changing items to use during the rounds.- M3

What may look like an ordinary Japanese action game soon turns out to be so much more. In addition to battles that are as good-looking as they are tactical, we also get charismatic characters, a captivating story, and a well-developed universe. Unfortunately, both the story and the battles stumble upon themselves at times - and the environments often leave a lot to be desired. But despite the shortcomings, Scarlet Nexus is a surprisingly successful mix of action and JRPG – and a must have for anyone who wants an action game with a focus on story and depth.- M3

DC Super Hero Girls: Teen Power is a bit of a mixed experience. The first impression is really good with nice graphics and fun battles, but the more we play the more cracks we see in the facade. The game does not nail the humor of the TV series, the battles are often overly messy, and some technical problems hampers experience. But despite all of the problems, we still have fun when we make our way around around Metropolis - even if the experience is more reminiscent of a licensed kid’s game than the giants of the genre.- M3

After 22 years, we finally get a sequel to the Nintendo 64 classic Pokémon Snap. Even though a lot of time has passed, much of the gameplay is intact. You follow a fixed road forward and your mission is to photograph as many Pokémons as possible before the route reaches its end. It may not sound all that fun, but it really is. For a while anyway. Although the adventure is more than twice as long as the original and the gameplay has evolved in a few important areas, it is a bit too limited to please others than those who already love the series.- M3

Off the track, the MotoGP 21 builds upon what its predecessor did well. On the track, however, we get improved and more realistic gameplay. At first it feels like a change for the worse, but the more we play, the more we like it. MXGP 2020 is a motocross game that on the surface looks like its rather mediocre predecessors, but with higher resolution and better framerate. After a lap on the track, however, it becomes obvious that the control and physics have been greatly improved. When Observer was originally released three years ago, it was mostly met with praise, even though the console version left a lot to be desired. But with the power of Playstation 5 and Xbox Series X, this psychological horror crime adventure corrects many of the errors from the first version – and adds greatly improved graphics and some new content. Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit is a good attempt to revive the toys to life genre. The AR functions are really impressive, with varied environments such as snow landscapes and lava worlds that give your living room a completely new look. Unfortunately the basic game itself is somewhat limited in terms of characters and unlockables. In addition, the 200cc mode is the only one that corresponds to the fast-paced feel from the original. Sackboy: A Big Adventure switches the creative mode from the main series to a more direct platform game. With an entertaining campaign, great online opportunities and panic-stricken zombie slaughter, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is an impressive package. Still, we can not help but feel disappointed. Little Hope, the second part of the horror series Dark Pictures, is a more refined and scarier experience than its predecessor. Walking around the misty town reminds us of Silent Hill, even though the game soon takes a more familiar horror route. Marvel's Avengers portrays the superhero theme from a whole new perspective, and it's really refreshing. Making a superhero game is difficult, but making a VR game with free flying might be even more difficult. Still, developer Camouflaj manages to avoid most traps and deliver an action-packed adventure where, above all, the battles are wonderfully intense and entertaining. On the one hand, Darius Cozmic Collection Console deserves praise for giving us access to nine rare and classic shoot 'em ups. Nine titles that, for the most part, hold a high standard to this day. It's easy to judge Sword & Shield as a quick cash grab during it's first hours. The rich and complex story from Sun & Moon is all gone in favor for a more classic Pokémon story with no flimsy side tracks. Graphically, it is also not as impressive as other major titles from Nintendo. But what we get instead shows a willingness to take the series forward with new, fresh features with Dynamax and the open world hub that is the Wild Area. And in the end the fight is the most important thing in a Pokémon game. When we're in the middle of a gigantic and crowded stadium, enjoying the most dynamic battles of a Pokémon game, it's hard to think of anything else. Then we realize that Pokémon should be all about becoming "the very best." Everything else is secondary.- M3

Astral Chain is a different take on Platinum Games action formula and deserves a chance if you're a fan of their previous work. Although the battles never quite reach the same level of finesse and variety as in Bayonetta, there are still a occasions in the game that come close. The interaction between our character and its Legion is the big draw, but unfortunately there are times when we are forced to fight without it. It’s not hard to find faults in Man of Medan, both in terms of story and gameplay. And yet we can’t stop playing until we’ve seen several endings. At the same time, we can’t shake the feeling that this is a downgrade compared to Until Dawn – a game released four years ago. But still, there is quite a lot to like here, and the low price makes it a solid purchase for horror fans.- M3

Even tough the story is a bit unevenly told; we cannot stop playing Sea of Solitude until Kay has reached the end of her journey. Partly because the story always manages to motivate us to go further, partly because the adventure is not long enough for the shortcomings to become too intrusive. When it is all said and done, Sea of Solitude is a gripping but uneven journey that is worth taking.- M3

The question that every Final Fantasy fanatic poses is probably if it is still worth tackling all the extra obstacles, just to experience another epic adventure. As an online role-playing game, it requires a usual monthly subscription and every single expansion also has its price. If you look past that detail, Final Fantasy XIV: Shadowbringers is yet another excellent game in the series, albeit a little too adapted for online gambling to attract exactly all "regular" Final Fantasy fans.- M3

For those who want a realistic handheld racing game, Moto GP 19 for Switch is an accepted alternative. It looks fine and is packed with content. However, if you intend to play on a television, we would rather recommend the other versions of the game.- M3

With interpretations of five classic titles, 198X is a loving tribute to the gaming world in the 80s and 90s. The graphics and sound of each game excel, but a weak story and a total playtime of less than two hours, makes the experience abrupt and incoherent. Hopefully, part two will solve the problems that exist, because the foundation is promising.- M3

It is easy to say whether Trover Saves the Universe is worth your time or not. If you like the humor, the gameplay is solid enough for the game to keep your attention to the end. If you do not like the humor, however, you will probably give up before the first level is completed.- M3

Everybody's Golf VR takes videogame golf to a whole new level. Although the fact that the gameplay is amazing, makes the lack of content it even more disappointing. Given the relatively low price tag, the number of courses is acceptable, but the lack of online play and even single player tournaments hurts the overall enjoyment.- M3

Sega has really tried to do something new with Team Sonic Racing. Despite the great entertainment value, we are quickly bored due to the limited selection of tracks and frustrated by our teammates. Combined with unclear difficulty, we suspect that few players will have the patience and desire to play Team Sonic Racing as many hours as we have done.- M3

When we sum up our experience with episode 3, it definitely feels better than when we played through the other parts. It all ends as usual with a strong cliffhanger that promises well for the continuation. We hope, however, that the next episode offers more action and gameplay moments with more direct control over the events.- M3

A Plague Tale: Innocence is a flawed yet thrilling adventure. While we love the characters and mostly enjoy the stealth sections and combat, the game is just too linear and limited; “walk there and do that – or die”. There is little room for exploration, no challenging puzzles and just a handful of fights that will test your skill. However, if you like the premise and don’t mind the linearity and lack of challenge, this game might still be well worth your time.- M3

Yakuza Kiwami 2 offers a unique blend that is needed in an industry where the norm otherwise follows a specific template. It does not copy other successful concepts but is instead a fusion of elements that made us love Sega classics like Shenmue, Virtua Fighter and Streets of Rage. And what other game lets you go directly from an arcade, make a stop at a karaoke bar and then on to the top of a skyscraper to fight a yakuza boss and his pet Bengali tigers?- M3

Ghost Giant is a touching adventure filled with simple puzzles, cozy environments and a story of joy and sorrow. If you are looking for a challenging experience this is not for you though. Instead it is more of an interactive story with simple but enjoyable gameplay. And most importantly; a great and memorable little tale.- M3

Although the innovative concept is very impressive and while we are undeniably entertained when working with Labo, this can hardly be counted as one of Nintendo's great successes. We also have to admit that we did not pick up our first Labo creations any more time after the initial weeks. We suspect that the same thing will happen with the vr packages.- M3

Mortal Kombat 11 is still one of the most entertaining games of the year to date. Maybe even the best Mortal Kombat game, game-wise. Unfortunately, not many of us will even see half of the unlockable content without opening the wallet. Too bad, because otherwise we would have had a game worthy of the name "Ultimate Mortal Kombat".- M3

Yoshi's Crafted World is a lovely but somewhat uneven experience. There is much to enjoy, especially the graphics and creativity that each level offers. Our only wish is that the game would be more challenging, and that the gameplay evolved during the adventure. But if you can ignore these short-comings, Yoshi's Crafted World is a great Nintendo style adventure.- M3

There is plenty of fun to be had with Super Mario Party, if the circumstances are right. With four friends and the right mindset you will have hours of fun in front of you. Although if you prefer a fair game, can’t gather enough players, or want to play online the enjoyment falls significantly. In the end Super Mario Party might actually be the highlight of the series so far, but there is still a lot of room for improvement.- M3

Assassin’s Creed Odyssey is a gorgeous looking game, and by far the most ambitious one in the series, but the world is so filled with repetitive activities that it’s difficult to feel completely satisfied with the experience. Shadow of the Tomb Raider is basically the same game as Rise of theTomb Raider, but in a new environment. This time Lara finds her self in the Peruvian jungle – and it looks absolutely stunning. Unfortunately the graphics are about the only thing new in this game and we wish the gameplay would have been improved as well. But despite it's shortcomings, Shadow of the Tomb Raider has a great entertainment. value.- M3

Insomniac IS doing a lot of things right with Spider-Man. The superhero feeling is perfect, and fans of Spider-Man will find plenty of references to the universe. But the game lacks something that is difficult to pinpoint. Not many of its ridiculous amount of side missions feel unique, and the main story lacks tension. Spider-Man is a beautiful, charming and creative game, but it's also repetitive and too ambitious for its own good.- M3

Mothergunship is a surprisingly entertaining game. The fast and intense combat feels rather unique, and it's impossible not to giggle like a school girl after building an excessively large lava spewing rocket launcher shotgun with an extra saw blade. Even though the graphics, level design and enemy variation could use a bit of work, it’s easy to forgive the problems and just enjoy some absurd shooting.- M3

With over 50 games on the roster Sega Mega Drive Classics has something for most retro fans. Granted most of the games have already been seen in older collections and the emulation is not always perfect, but the ability to quick save and especially rewind is a game changer. Even though some will call it cheating, the ability to undo mistakes makes the classic games much more accessible and enjoyable than ever before.- M3

It’s better than its predecessor, but The Crew 2 never really reaches its potential – mainly due to some underwhelming level design and a badly written story. A port of last years Wolfenstein II to the Nintendo Switch seemed like an impossible task, but Panic Button has exceeded our expectations. Sure, there are some massive downgrades regarding the graphics, but the core gameplay is pretty much intact. The main problem is that the other versions of the game are so much better, but if you want a portable first person shooter this might be the best one yet.- M3

Detroit: Become Human is better than Beyond: Two Souls, but it won’t be the game that turns the skeptics around. The dialogue is poorly written and it’s hard to feel anything for the characters. It’s a story that is easy to be drawn into, but also one that doesn’t have that much to say at all.- M3

It is certainly not difficult to find faults in Gravel. On the other hand, it's just as easy to put the pedal to the metal and enjoy the wonderfully exaggerated races. Rarely has a racing game been this fun and varied, although It could – and maybe should – have been better in a lot of ways.- M3
