A fun, imaginative game. Ratchet & Clank is the proof that platform games are not an outdated genre thanks to its fun gameplay, crazy weapons, great animations and some awesome new ideas.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land isn't a revolution for the series, but... did it need to be? All it had to do was deliver a game that was faithful to what has made Kirby a franchise that generates excitement, and it largely succeeded at that. Kirby took too long to make the leap to 3D, but the point is that he did it, and in a satisfying way.

Visceral and bloody, DOOM brings the classic FPS feel back to the modern era of gaming. Players will learn to strafe, jump, and shoot demons in the face like it was 1993. While the multiplayer component cripples the experience, DOOM represents id Software's righteous comeback to its former glory.

DiRT 4 delivers a great rally experience, especially with the different racing types including Rallycross. Some visuals are not what we can expect in the current generation, but the driving experience is great. Also, Codemasters did a great job adding a tool that helps you randomize routes and tracks, so basically you can have unlimited tracks to race on.

Underneath the odd blend of Mario with the Rabbids lies a very good SRPG. Its combat mechanics are frantic, fun and complex enough to make the whole campaign a joy to play. Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle is a nice surprise, there is no doubt about it.

Toys For Bob did a great job of taking the essence of Crash and adapting it to modern times. The result is a platformer who proudly carries the legacy of a legendary trilogy, but does enough to feel new and not be a simple homage to the past.

Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom is a beautiful game that takes the soul of PS1 era JRPG to create a must play experience for every fan of the genre. Despite a great presentation and atmosphere, the game can feel like a drag by its fetch quest format.

While adding great purchase value to the mix is something we love, in the end the poor Xbox 360 emulation and other technical problems hinder an otherwise great pack of classic games.

A good game in its own right, Shadow of Mordor doesn’t need nor improves upon Tolkien's fiction. Sadly, though, exploitable combat mechanics, repetitive missions and an unsatisfactory navigation system hinder its chances of becoming one of the best games of the year.

Pokemon Ultra Sun has plenty of content to offer to those who spent hours with Pokémon Sun & Moon. Though its main campaign isn’t very different from what we played in his predecessor, Game Freak cut a lot of things to make it more direct. Also, this entry has a lot of post-game content for players that want to be the very best.

Octopath Traveler 0 is a surprisingly solid adaptation of Champions of the Continent, preserving the franchise’s visual charm, memorable music, and strategic combat system. Its more open structure and narrative focus on Orsterra bring a refreshing scope to the adventure. While the lack of Spanish localization and some stiff voice performances hold it back, it remains a deep and enjoyable JRPG experience for fans of the series.

Although Planet Coaster belongs to a niche genre, it is a well-crafted product that we hope will keep being polished. Despite imperfections that certainly affect the experience, its achievements and potential are worthy of admiration and it is a game worth playing.

FIFA 17 represents the most notorious improvement of the franchise in recent memory. Some areas such as defense tactics and traditional career modes feel a bit neglected this year but on the other hand you have a fresh take on the football experience with The Journey and a complete overhaul of gameplay over the pitch that puts the claim for real innovation to rest... at least this year.

After many doubts - which at this point seem ridiculous and unjustified - Gears 5 shows why Gears of War is one of the most beloved franchises in the industry. It is a fantastic game that dared to change so that the franchise reaches the heights it deserves.

Gears of War 4 delivers a solid entertainment experience. Supported by a great multiplayer and cooperative modes as well as an amazing campaign, the game only falls short on its script and character development. Horde 3.0 is awesome and deep, the new multiplayer modes are fun and the history feels like a 3D Contra game. Leaving other minor technical setbacks aside, Xbox One users can't go wrong with this one.

Halo 5 has a short, albeit dramatic campaign, full of action and huge, visually striking environments that will leave you wanting for more, literally, because its ending is a little bit anticlimactic too. But, despite all of this, fans of the Halo Universe will have a great time playing through it, especially if they've got a team of friends at hand. And the multiplayer component might well be the best we've seen in all the series. Warzone will soon place itself among the most memorable and beloved game modes in the story of Halo.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is yet another great port on the hybrid Nintendo platform that includes all the content released since its debut 6 years ago. The joy of playing Skyrim remains just as we remember with an added portability bonus, built around quality, that is a fundamental key to recommend it.

While at first it seems like Guacamelee! mocks Mexican culture, the truth is that the game doesn't take itself seriously. With brilliant platforming sections and a cohesive and original art direction, the game presents an interesting and original world. The combat is not as deep as we would like it to be, but this frisky title has a hard to find feature: uniqueness.

Guilty Gear -Strive- has the opportunity to establish itself as one of the best fighting games today. Its systems are dynamic and offensive-oriented, which results in spectacular and aggressive fights that exploit technical fundamentals in battle. At the same time, it invites new players with simple and easy to understand commands, however, it fails to captivate them in the long run. Guilty Gear -Strive- shy away from perfection as there is unbalance and feels incomplete.

Dragon Quest I & II: HD-2D Remake is even better than the remake of Dragon Quest III thanks to the addition of new quality of life improvements, a more balanced difficulty and the fact that it is two games in one. And, by the way, these are two of the most important JRPG ever, now more accessible than ever.
