Kylotonn tooks its time to cook its WRC 8, and it’s all for the best. Deeper and prettier than any of its predecessors, WRC 8 as a great career mode and looks good. It also plays better, with sharper driving.

Even if some titles would have deserved to be modified (because present in the Capcom Fighting Collection compilation), we must admit that the result is frankly coherent and convincing.

This Episode 4 is probably the most hard-hitting episod from Life Is Strange 2. A black, dark world is now shiwing in plain sight right before Sean’s eyes and now we’re expecting a very strong finish. Great story-telling.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage didn’t lie to us. The new opus offers us a return to basics in due form, with an old-fashioned credo and modern mechanics à la Unity. A true melting pot - both in terms of approaches, NPCs and mechanics taken from previous ACs - Mirage is a call to almost limitless freedom. On the other hand, its old-fashioned gameplay, its small technical shortcomings and its very classic side risk leaving some behind. But fans of the license have with Mirage a gripping story, a pleasant breath of nostalgia and a new grandiose dive into great History. Yes, Basim's adventure does not reinvent the wheel, but it is an excellent way to wait for the next big game in the license, Assassin's Creed Codename Red.

It’s what many had expected when the game first released in 2016. There are still some bugs and the multiplayer is too limited for now but the whole experience is mesmerizing.

If we would have liked for the last dance of the KT Racing-WRC collaboration real novelties on the Career mode and a little more fantasy on the classic game modes or the dressing, WRC Generations does the job. First in the modeling of his specials, then in handling his cars according to the surfaces and the conditions. In line with a successful anniversary episode, the ultimate title succeeds, without drastically upsetting its formula, in being a lasting opus and with the best lifespan of the saga. More than 150 stages in 22 countries, more than 80 racing cars with the addition of hybrid engines for the WRC, daily and weekly multi-league and club modes, the objective has been achieved by Kylotonn Racing: the title is immortal.

Back 4 Blood is indeed the worthy heir of the first two Left 4 Dead games. There is no doubt about that. The title from Turtle Rock Studios offers nervous and impacting gameplay that knows how to reinvent itself as the players progress thanks to this successful deck system and these varied objectives that take place in many different places. Unfortunately, the production still lacks balancing. The game is either too simple or too punitive. We hope that a future update will correct all this.

With Mario & Luigi: The Brotherhood of the Legend, it's easy to see that Nintendo wants to offer the return of a franchise appreciated by fans without getting too wet. We find an effective combat system, still as exhilarating thanks to its modernization in both substance and form. Conversely, the story told and the illustrated environments lack a strong identity: this is also how the Mario and Luigi games have been able to shine. This overly smooth side nevertheless allows a wide audience to get into the swing of things, especially with the treatment (whether for the writing or the gameplay) of Luigi. But everyone will come up against a sea voyage shaken by multiple interruptions and repetitions. Like Ulysses in the Odyssey, Mario and Luigi arrive safely, not without a few scars. Like the Greek hero, they will need a few more exploits to hope to enter the legend once again.

Donkey Kong Country Returns HD is the very definition of a remaster that does the job. Its high definition and availability on Nintendo Switch from January 16th allow the uninitiated to discover the Donkey Kong Country formula. Returns remains a very good game of the genre, demanding and accessible. However, it suffers from some flaws due to the fatal comparison with similar games released over the last fifteen years. We would therefore recommend it especially to those who have never tried it. For others, the banana is likely to have a very pronounced taste of déjà vu.

If one could fear that Dying Light 2 is a 1.5 version of its predecessor, this is not the case in fact. By taking up all the ingredients that made the success of the first episode, Dying Light 2 reinforces, refines and fleshes them out to put them at the service of a breathtaking, generous, fun and complete experience that offers moments of bravery.

Luigi's Mansion 2 - HD manages to give you a cold sweat while retaining the effective and addictive gameplay of the original formula. The alternation between action and puzzles, in well-stocked content, is always just as pleasant. The atmosphere, both frightening and humorous, is perfectly transcribed, and the graphic and sound modernization is a real asset, especially in portable mode on Nintendo Switch OLED. Whether you've played the original game or not, Luigi's Mansion 2 - HD is worth your attention and will provide you with pleasant summer chills.

Pretty, smart, superbly set to music and intelligent in its mechanics of mixing cultures, these are many qualities that we can recognize in Humankind. While it does not avoid the pitfalls of many 4Xs, with parts that sometimes drag on or balance issues, it remains a refreshing take on the genre, which can be a nice gateway for newcomers. The veterans, for their part, will certainly perceive the shadow of Civilization which hangs a little too intensely over the aura of Humankind, but they will undoubtedly appreciate its originality and the multiple tactical approaches, for parts which they will follow without displeasing. . Humankind is undoubtedly a game that will gain depth and longevity over time, Amplitude being known to be attentive to community feedback and take care of the follow-up of its games.

While it splits its gameplay in two with competitive online and the possibility of realistic (slower and animated) offline, the ex-FIFA won't calm players' frustrations. The reasons are the rivers of scorelines and scenarios still too much in favor of attacking dribblers, ordeals for defenders or AI goalkeepers. Among the satisfactions, we will still note the accomplished Manager Career mode with Live careers to prolong the fun, even if the lack of inspiration and renewal in the cinematics or licenses will weigh on the regulars. With the potential future competition from FIFA for the World Cup or Take-Two on the football game scene, not to mention a Football Manager 26 that promises to be Dantesque, EA FC will have to reinvent itself or go further to regain momentum in the years to come.

Tomodachi Life expects nothing more from us than that we peck at it like a small box of nuggets. It is the side dish you order at a fast-food joint when you still have a bit of a craving after the burger. Unfortunately, you realize far too late that the employee forgot to include said burger in the order (you know exactly what I’m talking about). You will, therefore, have to make do with this little appetizer. The additions introduced in the 3DS installment are welcome; the customization is fabulous, and the Mii editor stands as a classic in its own right. However, Tomodachi Life: A Dream Life is no masterpiece of the life-simulation genre. That said, it is probably the funniest entry in the genre. If you are looking for a title to sink hundreds of hours into, you might find the island to be rather deserted. But if you need to see your boss dressed in an egg costume every now and then just to take your mind off your overdue emails, then the experience is well worth checking out.

Onrush looks like a racing game, plays almost like a racing game and feels like a racing game. But it’s not a racing game. It’s more of a MOBA game, and this is a cool concept, but it simply doesn’t really work.

A very, very traditional musô ... but nevertheless successful. Admittedly, its cel-shadding remains an obvious make-up for a dated technique, but it also causes a reinforced Japanese atmosphere and some appreciable graphic effects; Likewise, the repetitiveness of its missions is an obvious black point but is compensated by a diversity of characters and interesting gameplay, and this despite the criticized reduction of its cast.

It is within a bouquet of references picked from the soil of the best Metroidvania that the celestial flower of Squid Shock Studios attracts our attention. Certainly, its scents are reminiscent of those of the creations of Team Cherry and Moon Studios, but they achieve neither their power nor their finesse. Be careful, under its attractive corolla hide sharp thorns which will certainly irritate the young shoots. Classic but well done, Bō: Path of the Teal Lotus loses a few petals due to questionable choices in its design without this diminishing our pleasure.

11-11 Memories Retold focuses on two different fates and is more intimist than Valiant Hearts: the Great War. It takes some distance with historic reality to tell a well written and luminous tale. Maybe too luminous, though.
