In No Man's Sky, every star is the light of a distant sun, each orbited by planets filled with life, and you can go to any of them you choose. Fly smoothly from deep space to planetary surfaces, with no loading screens, and no limits. In this infinite procedurally generated universe, you'll discover places and creatures that no other players have seen before - and perhaps never will again.

    Embark on an epic voyage
At the centre of the galaxy lies a irresistible pulse which draws you on a journey towards it to learn the true nature of the cosmos. But, facing hostile creatures and fierce pirates, you'll know that death comes at a cost, and survival will be down to the choices you make over how you upgrade your ship, your weapon and suit.

    Find your own destiny
Your voyage through No Man's Sky is up to you. Will you be a fighter, preying on the weak and taking their riches, or taking out pirates for their bounties? Power is yours if you upgrade your ship for speed and weaponry.
Or a trader? Find rich resources on forgotten worlds and exploit them for the highest prices. Invest in more cargo space and you'll reap huge rewards.
Or perhaps an explorer? Go beyond the known frontier and discover places and things that no one has ever seen before. Upgrade your engines to jump ever farther, and strengthen your suit for survival in toxic environments that would kill the unwary.

    Share your journey
The galaxy is a living, breathing place. Trade convoys travel between stars, factions vie for territory, pirates hunt the unwary, and the police are ever watching. Every other player lives in the same galaxy, and you can choose to share your discoveries with them on a map that spans known space. Perhaps you will see the results of their actions as well as your own...

An astounding achievement. Hello Games deserve credit for creating one of the best games of this console generation - even if it did take a couple of years longer than planned.

Don’t be guided by the game’s daunting history. No Man’s Sky is now a near-outstanding experience that sits in a league of its own. Despite some issues with the game’s textures, delayed rendering and some unstable framerates, No Man’s Sky is a diverse, deep and ambitious player-shaped adventure that’s constantly intriguing.

Finally available on Xbox One, during the last two years No Man's Sky has become a huge exploration game, still flawed by technical and design problems, but totally worth a ride.

While features like multiplayer and base-building certainly put more proverbial asses in seats, they're also the least memorable additions to an otherwise thoughtful experience.

Wonderful for exploration but has some issues with resource management. [Oct 2018, p.75]

Two years after its initial release, No Man’s Sky have developed into a whole different game. Tons of new content, several updates and patches for the online section, more features for crafting system, new missions, and many, many more added features have made NMS a valuable title.

Technically, No Man’s Sky delivers the idea Hello Games promised — a massive sci-fi playground for you to explore. However, once you’ve spent some time poking around, it’s hard not to notice that the playground feels fairly empty, even two years later and after massive content additions.

Fast forward to today and I am thrilled, so much has been added to the game and the planets themselves are no longer recognizable. There is true scale now, mountains are ominous, forests can be dense and the creatures are as ridiculous as usual.

My favorite addition has been the 3rd person camera. I have been using first person when on the ground and 3rd person when flying and being able to see your ship while you fly is a wonderful addition.

I have encountered minor bugs and glitches, so the game would have normally received a 9.5/10, but the enjoyment factor is off the charts. Truly an incredible game. What an effort from Hello Games to see this through and get their vision closer to reality.

Beware of reviews from the old version of the game!!

The game on launch 2 years ago was rocky, to say the least. It a put of people of people off from trying the game since.

Which is a shame, as the subsequent updates added a lot to the game, and refined much of the gameplay.

Now the 'NEXT' update has landed, the biggest one yet, it overhauls a lot of gameplay that people weren't happy with, and adds a ton of new and awesome content.

One of the best games I've played!

So much fun now. I rarely get bored, however buildings are all the same, as are a lot of planets. And the tutorial sucks.

All of the hype that was built up, just for it to become a buggy mess with broken promises. However, the developers didn't give up on the game. They made it from a game of broken promises to a game that was more than promised. However, patches will not fix the history that this game has created. The game is fun, but can be a bit tedious and confusing. I play it a lot, but again, the beginning was rough, so that is why this game deserves a 7. Expand

Game launched nothingThe Bad: The most deceptive marketing campaign in recent memory. Developers are proven to be as dishonest as they come. Game launched nothing like marketing showed.

The Good: The developers stood by the product and eventually after ~3 years brought it close to where it wanted to be at launch. They probably only started development after taking the pre-orders to the bank though.

also fun fact this game is the reason why Sony hasn't had any early access games for years and Sean Murray tried to weasel and say that Sony was responsible for not giving him enough funding. VP of Sony of America denied this and called it false.
