Yes, the technical shortcomings are felt, especially in the animations and the expressions of the characters. But the Nîmes team, undoubtedly driven by the love of Japanese RPGs that shines through every pixel, has overcome some of the difficulties encountered. The studio aptly bet on artistic direction, music and dialogue, in addition to a host of elements that add substance to the gameplay, for a pleasant and complete video game experience, albeit of mixed quality.

It's hard not to come out a little frustrated with this Hyrule Warriors, which excels in some areas and disappoints in others. The combat system works very well, but struggles to shine, the fault of a framerate sometimes acceptable sometimes unpleasant as possible, especially in docked. The storytelling is fine and the cut-scenes are fantastic, but the script strays from the original material and loses in narrative power. Still, if you're insensitive to yo-yoing frame rates or playing exclusively in handheld mode (which doesn't completely solve the problem either), Era of the Scourge turns out to be a pretty good one.

With the BioShock atmosphere, the Firewatch narrative design, and a glimpse of Outlast, Close to the Sun is a medley that works from an esthetic and lore side but sometimes lacks of polish on a more technical and gameplay side. Plus, the game is really short (4/5 hours).

Magnificent tribute to the saga that inspired it, Evil Dead: The Game is an asymmetrical multiplayer game that surprises with its constant dynamism and frenetic action very well staged. Unfortunately, the software quickly turns in circles. Despite the multitude of playable characters and the two gameplays offered (survivor or demon), Saber Interactive's game does not manage to diversify its approaches. A production that primarily targets fans of the genre and the cinematographic creations of Sam Raimi.

Combined with a concept that is both seductive and risky, the plot of 12 Minutes easily maintains interest even in its elements of resolution. Also if one feels Luis Antonio's imperfections in terms of technique, his learning from the great thrillers of cinema is just as visible. But the title divides between the frustration that can cause redundant loops and the quite captivating atmosphere of the place. If the game is as accessible in its mechanics as thorny in its timed puzzles, the experience will naturally be smoother for those able to progress by limiting loops.

Boyfriend Dungeon is worth the detour for its very catchy concept alone. After all, what other game will have you dating half-man, half-weapon people that you can wield in dungeons? The first hours of the Kitfox Games title are very eye-catching. But the studio struggles to keep the fun going. This is due to the dates that drag on and the phases of action that generally lack diversity, both for the "dunjs" and for the weapons on offer. However, it is hard to imagine not recommending Boyfriend Dungeon if you are looking for a refreshing title. A nice surprise.

Despite the incendiary feedback from some of the fans, we have to admit that we had a pretty good time with Diablo Immortal. Far from being original, the Blizzard/NetEase Hack'n Slash is pleasant to handle with touch or pad. In addition, the main adventure is fun to navigate, especially for newcomers. However, the post-level 30 progression based on level-locked missions is disconcerting, even if this mechanism would be used by other free-to-play. It is especially the excessive monetization, both ubiquitous and obscure, which greatly moderates our enthusiasm, although usual for a NetEase game. Nevertheless, Diablo Immortal remains fun for casual players who don't aim to become unbeatable warriors in PvP. Passed a course, the attractive adventure turns into a hardcore F2P MMO nightmare. Ultimately, these are two very different types of players who are invited to meet on the lands of Sanctuary. For better (action-RPG on mobile) and for worse (for monetization).

On the other hand, Milestone failed to make a leap forward from a graphical point of view, on the behavior of the AI, animations and collisions. Cult video game saga, Metal Gear Solid remains equal to itself and this compilation reminds us of all the qualities of the works of Japanese creator Hideo Kojima. Let it be said, it's a real pleasure to do each episode in chronological order (or not) and to relive some of the most epic moments in video game history (yes, yes, we can say...). But on the other hand, with such a series available, we cannot help but rail against the absence of certain elements (Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes to name but one) and a technique which would have deserved a best treatment. Konami's initiative is not bad in itself, but we keep the bitter feeling that they recovered the HD Collection by dusting it off slightly to create this compilation. After all, these video games will forever remain pure masterpieces and it can be a wonderful opportunity to (re)discover them.

For Final Fantasy 7 aficionados, the prospect of having this entire universe at their fingertips is delightful. The only downside is that Ever Crisis relies (too much?) on it and does not appear to be THE free-to-play of the moment. If we remove his clothing, what does he have left? Certainly, it is generous, overflowing with content and activities to perform, and sometimes flatters the retina despite the mix of styles. However, it does not avoid certain pitfalls (the investment time, the repetitive gameplay loop) and even deprives itself of part of the public due to its lack of translation. The fact remains that it offers a booster shot at a lower cost before Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth but will have to rely on quality updates (the missing pieces of the Collection, for example) to really do justice to this episode of the saga.

Even if its pretty straight-forward, Stranger Things 3: The Game is well-made and funny. It’s a well-balanced game focusing on the fans. The other ones may think it is repetitive and lacking strong characters.

Red Faction Guerilla Re-Mars-Tered is a steady remastered version, which never really shines. Any player who had never given it a try should consider it now, keeping in mind that it’s a 9-year-old game.

Let's break the brick: LEGO Horizon Adventures does not perpetuate the exceptional transmitted by Horizon Zero Dawn. However, it has the merit of being very accessible, like the story with a completely offbeat tone. Its six-hour campaign allows you to quickly learn without fuss what is going on in the original game. In the same way, the gameplay offered takes little advantage of the original concept and may quickly tire video game regulars, and especially Horizon aficionados. Something that is felt in the content at the end of the game which offers the same missions in a loop, but necessary for anyone who is a fan of customization / decoration. LEGO Horizon Adventures is therefore aimed primarily at a young audience or even neophytes, wanting to get their hands on the brick.
