Overall, I enjoyed Little Nightmares II almost more than I did the first game. If you're a fan of the first game or even have a mild interest in the series, I can't recommend both games enough.

Super Mario Party Jamboree is a game for the whole family. It’s filled with over 100 minigames, responsive controls, and graphics that truly pay homage to what Nintendo is. This is one title that will have you coming back for more and more. Just be warned that some games can go for several hours, so if you have the time and are looking for something fun to play with your friends and family, Super Mario Party Jamboree is definitely that title on the Nintendo Switch.

It’s impressive that, considering its mix of two very different genres, Crown Gambit very rarely missteps. Through the ten or so hours I spent with Crown Gambit, there were very few moments were I wasn’t completely invested in the fate of Meodred. With fast-paced storytelling and a unique card system, this is a fascinating addition to your tactical combat collection, provided you can survive all that backstabbing.

Konami once again delivers a beautiful game of football surrounded by some of the ugliest, laziest trappings possible.

Does SoR4 do the franchise justice? Yes! It gives older gamers the game they’ve been waiting for while offering younger players the chance to play a comic-book esque beat-em-up that’s challenging and fun. The highlight of the game for me was the soundtrack, which works in synergy with the gameplay to heighten intensity as the game becomes progressively more difficult. The one big let down is the length of the game, which I don’t think has been reflected in the launch pricing, especially for PS4.

Battlefield 6 is a return to form for the series, delivering explosive, multiplayer action despite a lacklustre single-player campaign.

Dragon’s Crown is a fantastic addition to the RPG genre, bringing an original personality that’s hard to ignore. With an amazing amount of content, this is one game that’s worth the grinding it demands.

Playing as a lower level character is almost even more fun than starting out as the King, I mean sure, it's good to be king….but it's nice to see the designers of the game took not only their fan base into consideration with this one…no even someone new to this type of gaming would do well to have this as their first experience. After running those tutorials off you go… and players will have all the courtly intrigue, army gathering and conquests and world running they can handle.

Microsoft Studios and 343 Industries should be commended on this 10th anniversary release of Halo: Combat Evolved. It's definitely for the Halo fan or for those that like well-made first person shooters with some great gaming mechanics and some amazing gaming environments that almost make this a new game. The ability to swap between classic and remastered is a treat in itself and really makes you appreciate what the developers created with the original game.

Child of Light is a beautifully created game that looks like some lost fairy tale come to life.

MC4 is a fun, action-packed FPS with some interesting gameplay elements. Some elements don’t really work as well, but they do make MC4 that little bit more interesting than your average run-of-the-mill FPS.

Röki is an easy recommend and goes some way towards exemplifying why indie games still hold an important place in the industry amongst the big-budget blockbusters.

If you can forgive the technical issues of the game and if you enjoyed Ico or Shadow of the Colossus, it’s still an interesting experience that is a thoroughly enjoyable and emotional narrative on this console.

PES 2013 is once again a lot more realistic and gives the player more (tactical) control. Due to the slow tempo and the many tactical ways of putting your team on the field, every player can put a well thought through game on the pitch. Unfortunately the goal is mostly defended by incapable, badly trained chimps and on top of that the game also has some traditional PES-problems: bad animations, few licenses and an overall lacking finish. PES 2013 is like F.C. Barcelona playing in a tiny 500-person stadium; the quality of the game can never really be fully appreciated.

If you have PSVR and are looking for a racing game that captures the playful spirit of the Mario Kart games but will also make you work for that sweet taste of victory, then definitely give Sprint Vector a look.

If you're looking for a karting game that seriously goes beyond Mario Kart than Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed ticks all the right boxes and enhances the genre considerably. It's just a fun game that contains a strong single-player mode and some great online options. The levelling system works but more importantly, the gameplay is almost flawless.

The virtual lands of World of Warcraft is getting a little long in the teeth but Mists of Pandaria with its lush forests, Asian inspired settings and new race will create this unique and entertaining gaming experience. And besides... pets vs pets... it doesn't get any better than this and best of all, it even promotes new players to the lands of World of Warcraft.

College Football 2026 is sport gaming perfection, a marriage made in heaven on the PS5 Pro. Amazingly, EA improved in every way on an already outstanding title.

Rocksmith 2014 Edition is the perfect way for both non-gamers and gamers to master the guitar on the PlayStation 4.

Ninja Pizza Girl will tug on your emotions as it delivers a strong powerful message about adversity and positivity. It may be a simple and short game but it will leave you wanting to replay each level to see if you can beat your existing times, grab more collectables and find alternative paths to finish each level.

RACCOIN: Coin Pusher Roguelike is messy but addictive, capturing that "just one more go" feeling as you chase the winning run.

Hitman World of Assassination: VR Access on PSVR2 is well worth the price of admission for both fans of Hitman and those looking for their next VR fix. The shift from third person to VR is a small change that makes a huge difference to the game’s flow and feel, offering a level of immediacy and immersion not seen in the series before. While the PSVR patch for Hitman 3 was little more than a curio, the generational leap in both graphical fidelity and control offered by the PSVR2 makes it not only a legitimately fun alternative way to play, an already superb collection, but a must-have addition to any PSVR2 library.

The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is one of the most beautiful and original adventure games of the year!

Samurai Warriors 4 DX on PC successfully delivers a robust and satisfying hack-and-slash experience, enriched by a wealth of content and polished gameplay mechanics. While some visual elements may show their age, the game’s core strengths in combat and storytelling remain compelling. Whether you are a veteran of the series or a newcomer eager to dive into the chaos of Sengoku-era Japan, Samurai Warriors 4 DX offers a fulfilling and action-packed journey that is well worth your time.

In conclusion, Red Alert 3 is a true 21st century remake of the RTS genre that features a healthy dose of humour which may be over the top but it actually suits the genre perfectly.

As long as you know you're going into an interactive story experience, you won't be let down.

There are plenty of air combat games and simulations out there, but the list of them that are truly spectacular is short, Black Shark can I feel be proudly counted as one of them.

Although it works well as a single-player, the real gem is through the local and online multiplayer modes that gives it a great party atmosphere.

In conclusion, King's Bounty: Armored Princess, especially for its current price is a very good game and will give you hours upon hours of enjoyment.

I’m pretty franchise agnostic with karting… I’m not fussed about who the characters are as long as it’s fun and I can certainly say that Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is a lot of fun… even when I wasn’t winning I was still enjoying the experience. The moments you pick up a power that can either help you take out the opponent in front or possibly blast past everyone ahead of you really add a lot of fun to the game. The ability to adjust many of the different aspects of the game (including the racing speed) means you can adapt it to the sort of mood you are in, or the skill level you want. The only drawback I would say is the price which does seem a bit steep… but there is a lot of fun to be had here either in solo play or in multiplayer and who doesn’t like a bit of split screen racing. Either grab a copy now and get racing or wait for a sale and then grab a copy… but if you like karting games… this is pretty close to a must have!

Without the review copy, I might not have taken the leap to jump into what is essentially a great quality of life improvement on an already pretty strong base experience. My advice would be to wait for a sale to come around, it’s definitely worth your time, but maybe not quite your money.

This game is jam packed filled with content and is a terrific sim if you're keen on those types of games. It's also a great learning tool for those who are looking to get into PC building or those who just love PC building already.

Fans of 90s JRPGs who missed it the first time have no excuse not to give Suikoden II (and its half-decent predecessor) a crack now. Suikoden I & II HD Remaster is not only the most economical way to experience these classic JRPGs, but also the best, thanks to some clever upgrades and, on the Switch and Steam Deck at least, the ability to play it natively on the go.

Many Nights a Whisper is a unique and emotionally resonant game that explores themes of pressure, expectation and destiny. With its meditative gameplay, philosophical storytelling, and stunning atmosphere, it promises to be a memorable experience for players who appreciate thoughtful, narrative-driven games. If you’re looking for something different, reflective and beautifully crafted, this is one to keep an eye on but just be warned, it does become intense, particularly with that final shot.

Soulstone Survivors is a razor-sharp, endlessly replayable power fantasy wrapped in smart systems, slick controls, and relentless style. With its deep build customization, satisfying progression, and chaotic yet strategic gameplay, it doesn’t just survive the arena roguelite genre, it masters it.

Octopath Traveler 0 is one of this year’s best RPGs in a banner year for the genre. It’s also weirdly not an adventure for the faint of heart as it’s one of its grimmest ( and I include the likes of Silent Hill f in that appraisal) and could do with a massive trigger warning at the opening. However, despite the dire circumstances our heroes often find themselves in, there’s still a lot of hope in Octopath Traveler 0. Its themes of community and people uniting to build a welcoming home for anyone who wants to live there are admirable. In a time where the rich and powerful are urging the rest of us to shut others out, it’s a message that’s needed more than ever.

Despite the aforementioned quibbles I have with the shared-screen multiplayer experience and the lack of incentive for repeated solo play, I still think 51 Worldwide Games is an excellent package. You know why? Because Chess is really fun. As is Connect 4 and Hanafuda (another new experience for me). Combine the vast selection of games available with the ease of use of playing with the touch screen or Joy Con controls, plus the terrific teaching tools on offer, and 51 Worldwide Games is an impressive value proposition.

In conclusion, Halo Wars is a very impressive and sturdy RTS game on the XBox 360 and my only complaint being is handling your units during the last missions which does become sometimes tedious as you are trying to select the correct units and you end up selecting the incorrect ones.

In conclusion, MotorStorm 2: Pacific Rift truly delivers on the original game that has improved graphics, better gameplay and new vehicles.

2K19 is a must buy game for all NBA fans. The MyCareer mode has been improved with all new additions and changes to the Neighborhood. The graphics have dramatically improved and the refined movement of players and the realistic aspect of the game is at an all-time high. 2K has again proved why they are the superior basketball game.

Loop Hero is a textbook example of how a strong singular vision can create something truly incredible. It’s a game that is unlike anything I’ve played before and has occupied every spare thought I’ve had since I began. It’s unique gameplay blends many familiar mechanics from a variety of gameplay genres to create an exceptionally satisfying and compelling experience. The fantastic visuals and audio design masterfully complement the gameplay mechanics to feel like an authentically retro product with modern sensibilities. Do yourself a favour and check this one out.

The perfect follow-up to this amazing series.

Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Blacklist a good single player game with a spectacular co-op and multi-player component.

SteamWorld Dig is a much needed casual game for the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation Vita that features a very addictive and challenging gameplay.

For the first time in nearly a decade it feels like the Tekken series has undergone an evolution of sorts, with the Rage Arts and Drive mechanics making for a decidedly different feeling game. Your mileage may vary in regards to these changes but to be fair you’re never forced to employ Rage Arts and can elect to continue to duke it out old school if that’s more your speed. Technically this is the most accomplished Tekken title yet and despite the somewhat lukewarm campaign mode there is more than enough content to keep everyone from novices to the Kings of Iron Fist Tournament themselves busy for months to come.

Metro: Last Light is a bold symphony to the senses. Deep Silver is the new bringer of AAA titles, now they have a lot to live up to. As the saying goes, you are only as good as your last game release. Deep Silver is now the one to watch.

The Thaumaturge is an easy recommendation for anyone looking for an intriguing story with intricate and entertaining gameplay.

Mega Man 11 is both the most accessible entry in the franchise to date and the most demanding, due to the difficulty options and challenge modes. The Blue Bomber makes good on his return with classic platforming and skirmishes with rogue robots augmented by the addition of the Double Gear System, affecting both how you approach the game and how the boss battles unfold by allowing for different forms throughout.

Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker remains an excellent game that feels perfectly at home on the Switch. The short-burst gameplay of the diorama-puzzle levels suits the portable nature of the system to a tee. It still looks, sounds and plays as well as it did on the Wii-U, so if it didn’t hold your attention then, the lackluster additional features aren’t likely to change your feelings now. If you’re a Switch owner looking for a joyous, simple, unique puzzle game, then Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker is worth some permanent space on your memory card.

A remaster can only make a 20-year old game so modern without becoming a remake. Oblivion Remastered makes the old game beautiful, far less clunky, but it's still the old game at its core.

Resident Evil Village VR is a must-have title for anyone taking the plunge on PSVR2. It's still the same RE8 we know, and love but with the tension turned up to 11. In short, it's the best way to play one of 2021's best games.

FIFA 15 is the most authentic football experience yet

A nice step-up from WWE 2K22 and with oodles of gameplay options, WWE 2K23 is the best modern console wrestling title to date.

Ninja Gaiden 4 is a slick and stylish entry into the franchise that has made steps to welcome newcomers while keeping veterans on their toes.

Ultimately, if you like the Lego series of games then there’s a high probability that you will like this… if you also like the Star Wars films (even just some of them) then this should be high on your list of items to purchase. It’s certainly a cheaper way to enjoy a bunch of Lego sets with the ability to play through your favourite parts of the Star Wars films.

A visually arresting, mechanically sharp extraction shooter that offers fun and rewards for those with the patience - and the time.

I thoroughly enjoyed A Plague Tale: Innocence from start to finish and cannot fault this title at all. While the gameplay is fluid that is accompanied by excellent graphics and audio, where A Plague Tale – Innocence shines is with its characters and the way it tells their story. So if you’re upset at how Game of Thrones ended and need a story that is told correctly, A Plague Tale – Innocence does that flawlessly.

One of the defining games of the 90s is ported to the Switch with a few bells and whistles. Essential playing for newcomers and veterans.

Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores delivers a fantastic post-game content expansion for those wanting more adventures with Aloy.

At the end of the day, Resistance: Retribution nicely compliments the PS3 version of the game with sturdy gameplay, a great storyline and an endless amount of nasties for you to send into the ether.

In the end, Trials Evolution Riders of Doom is a must have piece of DLC for Trials Evolution that creates another addictive experience that blows open the walls and gives the gamer something bigger and better.

Battlefield 4 is the latest instalment in the Battlefield series created by Dice and is the first in the series to utilise the Frostbite 3 engine. It is the latest in the stream of modern military shooters.

The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim Special Edition is a really good game on the PlayStation 4 and Bethesda have done a remarkable job at giving it a fresh facelift but also keeping the amazing story and gameplay. Sure, some things feel a little stiff and lacking finesse of something like The Witcher 3 but it’s quite a detailed world from its culture, denizens that populate this universe and very rich story. Lastly, the amount of time you could spend in this game is practically endless and the only potentially bad thing is that you could lose sleep because you won’t want to stop playing.

A worthwhile retro survival horror experience that utilizes every inch of its three-to-four hour runtime while paying homage to the greats. Even though it's lacking in scares, it manages to enthrall with its excellent brain-scratchers and deft design decisions. A small and successful slice of survival horror.

Hellblade offers an engrossing single-player cinematic experience coupled with Ninja's Theory's tight melee combat systems and responsive controls. An enthralling sensory onslaught for the eyes and ears.

Disgaea 5 Complete on Nintendo Switch is definitely a complete and old-school RPG experience that is filled with endless hours of amusement and challenges!

Torchlight is a highly enjoyable game, easy to get the hang of and the over all design elements are very pleasing. Torchlight by Runic Games is necessary game to have in the library of games for any true sword and sorcery fan. This game is dungeon crawling, sword and sorcery at its purest and fun form.

Kirby Planet Robobot on 3DS is a great mix of classic and modern gameplay with a health dose of fun thrown into the mix!

Live A Live is a truly unique product of its time that still stands out in the competitive field of role-playing games today. After playing, it makes sense that it would be lauded to this day for its subversive takes on JRPG gameplay elements and its multiple narratives. What’s most charming about how experimental the game is, is that it is not a subversion due to cynicism over the genre, but a love for its potential.

Whether you’re a new or returning player, Superstar Saga holds up extremely well in both the story and gameplay departments – the great QoL changes and visual updates are just icing on the cake. Recommended for players young and old who love casual turn-based RPGs and anything Mario related.

Rainbow Billy: The Curse of the Leviathan is a near perfect game and a great introduction as someone's first RPG. It may be a little long winded at times, but overall Rainbow Billy is a must own.

Ultimately the game is well put together, intelligent but doesn’t take itself too seriously… it finds a good balance between presenting serious therapeutic notions and how they can be applied… with moments of humour. If you ever wondered what it was like to be a Vampire Therapist… grab a copy and find out. A good bit of fun and the potential to shed some light on ways of thinking.

Combining the tight stealth gameplay of the classic games in the series with the more expansive open world RPG elements of the more recent games, Assassin's Creed Shadows has plenty to love for both past and present fans.

Football Manager 2016 makes accessing the more complex features easier: it's both deeper and more user friendly.

rackmania Turbo combines the thrill of arcade racing with the addictive short-form challenges of games like Trials.

If you never played the original and this kind of game is up your alley, you won’t be disappointed. It’s a lengthy JRPG with all the things you would expect, and it runs fantastically on the Switch in docked and undocked modes. But if you’ve also just finished the excellent Fire Emblem: Three Houses and want something more substantial to sink into that features classic characters from the series, you may find it a little disappointing.

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 is a fun next-gen experience on the PlayStation 5 and the devs should be commended on implementing some new gaming tech with the franchise from 4K graphics to fast load times and my personal favourite, immersive haptics when you pull the trigger. Additionally the gameplay works well and all in, Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts 2 is a positive and engaging experience on the PlayStation 5.

Lumote: The Mastermote Chronicles is a game that everyone in the family can enjoy, that’s a pretty big bonus for those of us with young ones in the family and certainly make a difference from all the more mature themed games that we have to wait till the little ones are asleep or at school to enjoy. The controls are simple enough to pick up and use without much thought… ie they are quite intuitive. It’s a pretty decent price and considering I could just sit and watch the beautiful colours dance across the screen whether I’m trying to complete the level or just chill for a while, you can get a decent bit of play time out of it. Grab a copy if you like a bit of puzzle gaming or if you just like some pretty visuals, either way Lumote: The Mastermote Chronicles is likely to put a grin on your face.

Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley is a delightful adaptation and an absolutely mesmerizing adventure that, like a good book, I couldn’t put down until it was finished. With fun stealth and platforming sections, fantastic storytelling, incredible visuals, and a keen eye for what made Jansson’s work so captivating in the first place. Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley is a game that every Moomin fan, scratch that, every cosy game fan needs in their collection.

The story is absolutely captivating and the lore of the universe is unlike anything I’ve seen before. The game marvelously intertwines open world exploration with deep conversation trees and you can actually feel yourself building cases in your mind as you uncover more and more clues. If you’re not into parsing through pages upon pages of dialogue to get the full story, then Paradise Killer probably isn’t for you. But if you’re willing to invest the time, Paradise Killer will undoubtedly be a memorable experience.

WWE 2K24 is a fine game and it is showing Rhodes towards the wrestling videogames promise land, but right now it's nowhere near the Head of the Table.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is the single-player of the franchise that while sorely needed just missed out on being spectacular. Nonetheless it was still a very enjoyable immersive experience in the amazing universe of Star Wars!

LEGO Party has everything you need for a raucous evening of minigame amusements. Go ahead and get a few friends over, pop some drinks open, grab some snacks, and relish in one of the coolest party games around.

The kitchen chaos of Overcooked 2 is a must do experience for any Nintendo Switch owner (and their friends). There are some nice upgrades from the original and the gameplay, varied kitchen design and change from level to level make it a truly fun and engaging experience. The difficulty is ever present, and there are some really rewarding experiences when you finally earn that 3rd star on some of the later levels. This game is best played on the couch with friends and it should be a part of everyones Nintendo Switch owners catalogue.

If you are a fan of point-and-click RPG, hilarious storytelling, or you would like to try a point and click for the first time, then you really can’t go past this game. It is brilliantly written, carefully designed and put together; and most of all, seriously brilliant satire.

Sorry We’re Closed is a heavily stylized horror action adventure game that bleeds innovation. A bumping soundtrack and comfortable trepidation amalgamate to form a passionate and purposeful experience. An impressive narrative with a comical cast soaks in the exceptional and creative gameplay making this a trip into the demon world you don’t want to miss.

The best Stories game to date that easily stands shoulder to shoulder with its mainline brethren.

Virtua fighter 5 final Showdown has stripped away things like back story to bring to the arcade a lean mean fighting machine, and to bombard the player in choices for DLC customizations of your favorite characters.

Life is Strange Episode 3 Chaos Theory definitely challenges mainstream gaming with a quaint almost Twin Peaks meets Veronica Mars like experience that is filled with emotion, excitement and real-world drama.

Paradise Killer offers a highly unique experience with interesting characters and a heavily detailed mystery to follow. However, its needlessly convoluted story and writing may deter some players from diving in.

Tense, atmospheric and foreboding. Darkest Dungeon 2 is a Lovecraftian RPG that's worth hitching a ride for.

In the end, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 is a very impressive game on the iPad that contains some of the best graphics to grace this smart device with almost flawless gameplay. So what are you waiting for, pick up your iPad, choose your virtual golfer and starting hitting those balls as you improve your skills and become the best possible virtual golfer you can be. With tons of replay value, this is gaming at its best on the iPad!

For those looking for something a little bit different to other racers this could be the answer, Shift 2 provides exciting arcade feeling racing that revolves and intense circuit style racing. For those willing to overlook a few minor issues and they are willing to be patient with the handling will find a truly satisfying, albeit terrifying racing game.

In the end Arizona Sunshine is a good start to the VR realm… we can only hope that this is the start of some kind of ongoing franchise, because to me the game was a little on the short side. It’s a A hell of a nice thrill ride, but oh so short and if the designers’ goal was leaving us wanting more… then they did it.

Ultimately, though, if it’s your first time playing the series, Yakuza Kiwami is a decent place to start. Though technically, Yakuza 0 is the beginning of Majima and Kiryu’s stories, Kiwami is a fairly faithful remake of the original game from way back in 2005, so presents the actual beginning of the tale, as it was initially meant to be told (aside from a couple of bits to tie it to 0). It also doesn’t quite have the same flair or scope that much later entries have (technically 0 is the 6th). That being said, it also doesn’t have the level of bloat that many of the later entries have, and the Switch 2 port is incredibly slick and, like Yakuza 0: Director’s Cut before it, is an absolute joy to play either docked or in handheld mode.
