I'd like to think that I tried to like Senran Kagura Estival Versus. It's not my cup of tea, but I'd like to think I have an open enough mind that I can still see the good in games that I wouldn't usually like. In this case, though, I just don't get it, since there are so many other better options out there — definitely in terms of video games, and I have to assume the same goes for the bouncing anime schoolgirl boobs, too.

Personally, I was always mildly fond of the barrel levels, which means I'm mildly fond of Super Blast Deluxe. I don't think it'll be top of mind when I'm thinking about GOTY lists in nine months, but for now, as a fun time-waster, it more than does the job.

I’m definitely a little less enthused with The Walking Dead: Michonne having played this second chapter. Hopefully Telltale is able to wrap things up in a more meaningful way next episode, but as of now I’m a little less excited to dive in and see this thing through. I’ll still be playing it, of course, but my expectations are certainly tempered.

The story, acting and graphics are great, but the gameplay just doesn’t bring enough new ideas to satisfy what I’ve been waiting and hoping for. Add in the fact that the game isn’t very long and it becomes hard for me to recommend Quantum Break at full retail price of sixty bucks.

As I said up top, the combat flows pretty smoothly, and — apart from those dull-looking enemies — the visuals here pop off the screen. I really want to love this game…but, as it stands, there’s just not enough going on for it to be than a very brief infatuation.

I still don’t see a reason to drop $50 on a season pass for Battlefront, but I do feel that when the Outer Rim is made available for everyone on April 5th, it is a pretty good buy at $15 (if you are still playing Battlefront or looking to pick up Battlefront). I do think, however, that if you're going to draw so heavily from those old games, it should be in the service of something more ambitious than simply imitating your influences and calling it a day. And that's why I don't see the point of Ninja Senki DX's existence: it aspires to nothing more than to borrow liberally from those old games, without in any way building on them or looking at them in a different light.
