  • Summary: With the help of Big Dave and your trusty crew of roadies, in BigFest you design, build and manage the ultimate music festival, from a small field with 20 guests slow clapping, all the way up to multi-day, multi-stage, mega festivals.

Gaming has a long standing tradition of making what is (ostensibly) one person's job into another person's preferred means of escape and relaxation. BigFest's approach to multitasking your way into and out of resources isn't especially unique, but its application to the riotous music festival scene is a welcomed novelty.

While the novelty does wear thin eventually, there's more than enough entertainment on offer here to justify its entry fee.

BigFest is a welcome addition to the Vita library, especially with the management-sim genre criminally neglected on the handheld. The premise is simple and is executed extremely well. The game will certainly get people hooked once they start playing - although for how long is a question that only time will tell!

A music festival sim game is an original idea, but BigFest has just too many problems to be worth your time and money.

The game tries to resurrect the spirit of Theme Park and Theme Hospital. Unfortunately the game bored too soon and is run by an often confusing and repetitive gameplay.

Its arcadey mechanics are just not fun enough, and there are also technical issues to be taken into account. Sadly, not a good experience for Vita owners.

Since the heyday of Rollercoaster Tycoon and Theme Hospital, it’s not often that lite-management sims get a chance to strut their stuff. This was not originally meant to be that game, but it could have been with a change of the business model. Instead this is a title that is balanced for tedium.

Game is thoroughly unbalanced, boring, bugridden, close to impossible to play offline, and not likely to improve in the future. Ive reachedGame is thoroughly unbalanced, boring, bugridden, close to impossible to play offline, and not likely to improve in the future. Ive reached out to the devs to see if any workarounds existed for the various bugs or if a patch was being worked on and never received a response, sony tech support told me to rebuild the vita database which didnt fix anything. You are left with agame that was meant to have microtransactions with gameplay meant for an iphone. Its disapointing because tycoon games are sorely lacking and the vita seems like a great place to put them. Expand
