World of Warships: Legends has the same fun, fast-paced gameplay we are accustomed to getting from the 'World of' franchise. Instead of just porting over an exact copy of the PC version, Wargaming has built a new version just for consoles. They have streamlined many of the game systems and have reduced the overall number of ships available compared to other platforms, but they have created a good base for consoles, and I would expect Wargaming to expand the game as time goes on. As expected for a Wargaming product, the cash shop is heavy-handed, but a player is still able to access top tier ships with a little effort.

Irony Curtain is a fun game with a lot of heart. You can instantly tell just how much care and attention went into its creation. This ultimately results in a game that’s well-written, well-designed, and confidently wears its satirical tilt on its red sleeves. For me, the brilliant writing was just enough to stave off the tedium of some puzzles. If you are nostalgic for point and click games of old, Irony Curtain: From Matryoshka with Love is worth a look.

If you are looking for a stroll down Mega Man-memory lane, Venture Kid offers a solid nostalgia trip down the side streets of the genre’s general neighborhood. Platforming feels tuned to the best examples of the era. Taking heavy influence from classic NES titles, Venture Kid captures the 8-bit age with pitch perfection, even if it misses the mark in other places.

Final Fantasy 12: The Zodiac Age Remastered is one of the better ports I have played in any game series. I played entirely in handheld mode and only ran into the problem of recharging the system every three hours of gameplay or so. You can once again get lost in FFXII with all updated graphics and gameplay. And if you've never had the chance to play it before, any Switch owner and RPG lover would do well to pick this one up.

If you are a cat person, or just like sim-type micromanagement-type games, and you own a VR headset -- because let’s not forget about that requirement -- then I think you might like it. As a VR experience, it definitely did its job of making me feel like I was in a different place, but it did not really convince me that I was taking care of another living thing. Considering the game claims that it’s “the first virtual cat that feels like a real one,” it ultimately fell a bit short here.

Asobo Studio brings together a culmination of stunningly beautiful art, hauntingly lovely music, and a wonderfully crafted, heart-wrenching story of a young girl and her brother as they live through the eradication of their family and become targets of the Inquisition during a plague-ridden time period. Rage 2 is a great game for the right reasons. If you’re looking for a game with a phenomenal story, you’re in the wrong place. The story is boring to me, and rather short at 13 hours of leisurely gameplay. At the very least it doesn’t drop off the planet like Rage did. Gameplay is fun, and vehicle combat works well, giving you an open world Mad Max-esque experience that is simply enjoyable and hard to put down.

Masquerada starts out with promise. The art is bright and unique and the lore and battle system give off an aura of depth. There’s just not a lot behind that first look. The beautifully-drawn courtyards and dungeons are linear and restrictive. The lore is densely written, but digging in reveals a lack of soul and meaningful drama.

But is Infected Shelter fun? Despite the monotony and early-game difficulty, I definitely felt that I had to try it ‘just one more time,’ several times before reaching the end of the current game content (about five hours’ worth). Melbits World is a charming puzzle-solver for party-time. With the power of PlayLink, you will overcome obstacles with up to three friends by using cell phones and tablets to control bridges, boxes, barriers, and beyond. While some of obstacles taking advantage of motion controls can be a bit sluggish, this approach of controls means that no one is left out of the party. Melbits World is an all-ages romp of madcap mayhem for all skill levels which places a high priority on player communication.

A fantastic blend of storytelling interwoven with enjoyable puzzles, intelligent stealth mechanics and refreshing cooperative player-controlled play. This one is recommended for all adventure gamers and the elegant story-telling voiced by Patrick Stewart just sweetens the deal.

Overall, this game lacks any specific direction beyond what you have to figure out for yourself. You get no introduction to the character or the situation they face. There are game breaking bugs and things that cause frustrations that make someone not want to play the game anymore. That being said, this game has good environments and music.

Wandersong is a charming, heart-filled musical-adventure. For fans of the puzzle-adventure genre, there is a lot to be had here but where Wandersong really shines, lies in its spirited, charismatic characters and unique story line. Wandersong isn't afraid to make fun of the usual heroic tropes found in many games on the market, but still finds a way to make the player stay connected to what is going on. Come for the adventure, but stay for a song.

It’s not very good as individual parts. But as a collection of send-ups to indie gaming, it’s perfectly serviceable.
