    Despite being in the shadow of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, Team Sonic Racing crosses the finish line as a solid kart racer in its own right. With a fun teamwork mechanic, solid presentation, fantastic score, and a cheap entry fee, I would highly recommend Team Sonic Racing for kart racing fans looking for their next fix.

    Mod pods aside, the game's few weak points do little to weaken the thoroughly enjoyable kart racer that they inhabit. Team Sonic Racing is a blast to play alone, online, or at home with friends, and it's more than worth its $40 price tag.

    Team Sonic Racing is a decent kart racing game that you’d do well to try out. It handles really well and, despite running at a mere 30FPS, looks pretty good for the most part. However, the team mechanic is entirely unnecessary to the experience, and the game just simply doesn’t match up to Nintendo’s own karting effort.

    To be sure, Team Sonic Racing isn’t really a bad game. It works, and even if it’s a little lacking in personality, it has polish. But there’s a vast gulf between solid (which is what this is) and good (which is how I’d describe previous Sonic racing games), and it’s very clear that this game is stuck firmly on the “solid” side.

    What you get with Team Sonic Racing is what you honestly better than you might expect from any modern game bearing the Sonic moniker. It’s a flawed but mostly competent kart racer that is budget priced and might be fine for kids who like the blue hedgehog and his furry friends.

    A serious competitor to Mario Kart 8. A must have for owners of the Nintendo Switch. A lot of players online! Very fun for all the family!

However they are less slippery than mario kart 8 deluxes controls. Apart from that, everything from the tracks to the racers to the soundtrack is amazing! I love the track designs and music, most of them match their respective tracks. However, the story mode is weak, and some levels are annoying, especially the daredevil ones (curse you, mandatory 6-3). Also, the modes in adventure and online are not playable in local play, which I think is ridiculous. I'm not bothered by the fact the the Switch version's frame rate is locked at 30FPS, but when I played an eggpawn assault level multiple times in a row, it started to drop significantly, throwing off my performance. I also find the unlock system completely underwhelming, since the cost of the mod pod is extremely low, and you can easily add two more "spins" by playing a race. Overall, this is a good game, but only Sonic or racing fans would enjoy it.… Expand
