A charming adventure with a cat hero and a mysterious story. It’s a real joy to explore the dilapidated concrete city, even if the game is, at its core, quite simple. At least it doesn’t ever repeat itself, though.

A very dark take on the Arthurian legend capable of generating a splendidly misty atmosphere reeking of Avalon. The story disappoints, however, and while the turn-based combat system is solid, it gets way too repetitive way too fast.

A new chapter in the series of cooperative escape games - and the best chapter yet. It’s long, full of clever puzzles that will challenge even the most experienced problem solvers and which require perfect communication and cooperation with your partner. The story is secondary but also better than ever before. This is one of the best cooperative games for two people you can get.

A splendid trip to a grimdark future where there’s nothing but war. It borrows a lot from XCOM but stands on its own two legs and respects the Warhammer setting which makes it feel surprisingly fresh and original.

Grand ambitions can sometimes remain unfulfilled and leave a bitter taste in your mouth. Salt and Sacrifice is the newest victim of such hubris - but, however disjointed, it’s still an enjoyable game for a very fair price.

Bigger maps, more ways to slaughter Nazis, more weapon attachments and more freedom - there’s simply more of everything in Sniper Elite 5. It also pioneers the new and brilliant Invasion system which will turn your game into a gripping sniper duel. This is the best instalment of the series, combining stealth from Metal Gear Solid, open locations from Hitman and invasions from Dark Souls.

For every Elden Ring, there are many Dolmens. That doesn’t mean you should waste your time playing them.

A job well done, even if it’s not particularly creative and original. This journey onto planet Earth destroyed by an apocalypse in which you’re trying to build a thriving colony can become gripping and addictive easily enough.

If you wish to see a game that does basically everything wrong, look no further. Its technical state is a mess, it will overwhelm you with information, the characters are bland. The only thing worth praising is the interesting dialogue system.

A card game in which you don’t actually play cards? This extremely original, creative adventure will fascinate you with its complex story interweaving history and politics, it will pull you in the shadowy world of professional hustlers and amaze you with its unique graphics. You’ve never seen something like this before - that we can guarantee.

Supermassive Games keeps giving us the same game every time and it’s simply not getting any better. The Quarry isn’t scary, isn’t thrilling and isn’t fun.

A brilliant game for those willing to stomach a significantly tougher difficulty than usual Mario titles. Also make sure you’ve got enough friends or are willing to try out the online multiplayer - the content for singleplayer is very, very limited.

A brilliant game built upon the foundation of an already great first instalment. The gameplay is superb, the visual is very cute, and Rogue Legacy 2 even manages to be funny! What’s more, you can play it even if you’re not a hardcore gamer thanks to its accessibility options.

There’s a lot of unique civilizations you can try out in this space strategy giant. But there’s also a plethora of design mistakes and oversights and a late game that’s generally tedious. What’s more, Galactic Civilizations IV sorely lack a proper tutorial.

This is a catastrophe, a boring, ugly, broken game based on a questionable cult hit from two decades ago. The new instalment is honestly such a mess that it would probably fail even back then.

This one looks way better than it plays. Yes, it’s an absolutely stunning tribute to old Japanese samurai movies but as an action game it’s barely passable.

A game aimed solely at children and their parents, nothing more and nothing less. A bit of good fun if you’re feeling playful but not nearly as impressive as other Nintendo masterpieces of this era.

This action RPG boasts a good combat system and impressive freedom in designing your own hero class. The story is awful, however, as are the loot and the graphics. Stranger of Paradise isn’t a waste of time - but that time could still be spent playing much better games.

Not a very successful return to the grand old days of isometric RPGs. Black Geyser is full of nostalgia and love for legendary games of the past, but it wouldn’t be genuine to call it a finished product. There are too many bugs, oversights, missing content and systems.

Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands is, for better or worse, simply another Borderlands. Is that something you still crave, the simplistic gameplay and the irreverent humour? That’s for you to decide.

Say goodbye to Yagami, say hello to Kaito. There’s a new main character on the block and he’s going to fight. And explore the past. And solve crime. There’s really nothing new mechanically speaking but the story is very good - and that’s what counts here.

Weird West is indeed weird - it blends classic western together with the occult and creates a reactive, living world for you to explore and influence. Your actions sometimes indeed do have far-reaching consequences - and other times the system simply breaks. But the action is good if you get used to the cumbersome control scheme.

Patrick’s Parabox may not be the most original of video games but the way it borrows ideas and blends them together is simply exceptional. Its paradoxical puzzles will mangle your brain, the concept of applied infinity will stun you. Do you like Baba Is You? If so, play this and thank us later.

Coromon looks like a Game Boy Advance-era Pokémon title but it’s a bit more complicated than that. This is an accomplished JRPG all by itself which borrows a well-loved formula and sprinkles many of its own ideas into the mix. It’s just a shame that some of them don’t really fit.

This rogue-lite survival’s ideas definitely feel fresh - its mountain-climbing setting is imaginative and the atmosphere is gripping. It gets repetitive soon, though, and boredom becomes a scarier threat than an avalanche.

A great idea executed horribly. There’s no career mode and zero progression, no physics to speak of - and very soon it simply gets plain old boring. This game would feel old and half-baked 20 years ago.

    H. P. Lovecraft made into a comic book made into a video game, a breathless shooter accompanied by an awesome metal soundtrack. The guns are fun and their upgrades interesting, there are two different playable characters - yes, there are also blemishes, but you definitely shouldn’t miss this indie FPS.

This could have been so much better. New Nintendo Sports title is “just” a bit of multiplayer fun with not enough disciplines to do the concept justice. There’s no career mode, additional content is locked behind a subscription. Still, it’s a brilliant game to whip out during a family gathering.

Bigger, prettier and filled with content to the brim, but also very simple and limited in what you can actually do - that is the new Skywalker Saga. If you love your Lego and a bit of accessible fun, this is just the game for you.
