Stardew Valley is a fine, smart farm simulation game. It is slow and it involves a lot of daily tasks, but in Stardew Valley there is something ingenious about those tasks.

Boxboxboy is more of what we know, but there is one big new feature that makes it feel so different. The option to play with two sets of boxes is a gush of fresh air that Boxboxboy could really use.

Never Gone is like a Zach Snyder movie: aesthetically perfect full of rough content. The game is a good action experience, but the controls are not precise enough to feel as slick as it looks.

The Climb is the perfect example of excellent VR design. The controller and headset work together perfectly, so it really feels like you are rock climbing.

EVE Valkyrie seems to be between a tech demo and a full game. It is an 'okay' multiplayer shooter, that especially feels cool thanks to the virtual reality elements. But as soon as there are better shooters for Rift, EVE Valkyrie will no longer be relevant.

Monster Hunter Generations respects its roots, but makes a big difference in character customization. This might not be the best choice for newcomers, but veterans can enjoy this game for many months to come.

At this moment Pokemon Go is still plagued by bugs and server issues, but behind it all is a very special game. This year there will be nothing that compares to Pokemon Go.

The Technomancer tries to be an epic RPG, but it fails miserably. The big world, layered story and many combat possibilities are okay, but they do not matter as the game does not seem to have a soul, or a good experience to give gamers.

It is not a big change from other LEGO games, but The Force Awakens sure is a game that is great for co-op between people of different age groups. The new parts in which you shoot taking shelter are pretty underwhelming though, especially when playing this game by yourself.

This game makes a 25 year old Game Boy game relevant for current gamers. It is true to the original, which makes it a lovely blast from the past to carry around with you.

The Solus Project is simple but hard, there is not a clear story, but at the same time there is so much history. The survival part might be a bit too simple, but exploring the world makes up for that.

Not only does this game bring the gameplay mechanics to the same high level as the slick visuals everybody knows it from, there are also a lot of small improvements that make this game heavenly to play.

Inside, from the makers of Limbo, is just like its predecessor - truly amazing to explore. The beautiful atmosphere and the intriguing themes are interesting, even though the game is fairly short and does not succeed in being very challenging.

Blood and Wine is gigantic; it might be the biggest expansion on a single-player game ever. This is not just huge in square metres, CD Projekt Red put so much effort into this DLC, it almost feels like totally new The Witcher game. Amazing.

The studio put a lot of love and care into this game, but there is more to a good JRPG than just an extended fighting system and passion. The storyline is not interesting and for characters like this, we would not bother saving the world.

Mighty No. 9 should have been a great play on the legacy of Mega Man, but instead is a cheap product that nearly has any creativity in it. This is not what Mega Man deserves.

Our feelings regarding the reboot of Mirror's Edge are mixed. The parkour gameplay is amazing and it feels really quick, but all the other stuff, like the story, the open world and the RPG elements are big let-downs.

This game is frustrating for the body, but relaxing for the mind. In this dream-like game your reflexes are tested to the max, and that is surprisingly satisfying.

If you need more content for your Renowed Explorers travels, then this definitely is the DLC to download. But, if you are looking for something to freshen up the game, this will be a disappointment.

Rusty Trails may seem like the next indie platformer, but this is way above average. It keeps on coming with fresh and new challenges and the story is intertwined with the gameplay perfectly. It's such a pity the controls are not optimal and the ending is very sudden.

Kirby: Planet Robobot does not change enough to feel fresh. The introduction of the mech offers simple but entertaining levels, but the game never really gets very complex. That's not particularly a bad thing though, the game is still great fun.

Fallout 4 was a strong game, but it had some weak spots when it came to the visuals, the challenge, the storytelling and the RPG elements. Bethesda obviously listened to the critique, as Far Harbor actually is a tad better than the original game.

It's not necessary to go to LucasArts or Sierra for a bit of nostalgia. Kathy Rain is a great modern classic point-and-click adventure that fits perfectly in line with Blackwell, Gemini Rue and Shardlight.

Risk of Rain has a lot of issues that have to do with chaotic graphics and boring action, but the original features save the day. The game is very stressful, but as it is different every time you replay it stays interesting.

The best Hero shooter ever and the coolest competitive shooter of recent years is brought to us by a developer that has never even made a shooter before. Overwatch brings online fun for anybody, no matter how experienced or how old you are. This might be the game of the year.

Stellaris has a lot of depth: any aspect of your civilization is fully customizable. The game is at it best when everything comes together perfectly, but that does not quite happen in the middle of the game. But, the more time you invest, the more dynamic the in-game action gets.

Shadow of the beast is a fighting game that evolves around getting high scores. Fighting is not too dynamic, levels aren't so well designed and the pretty cool story gets killed off brutally. There is not much to love about Shadow of the Beast.
