All in all, Overwatch continues to feel unique regardless of how much time you spend with it, and despite the low number of available modes to participate in. I’m genuinely impressed by what Blizzard has managed to do here, and I think you will be too.

The best Hero shooter ever and the coolest competitive shooter of recent years is brought to us by a developer that has never even made a shooter before. Overwatch brings online fun for anybody, no matter how experienced or how old you are. This might be the game of the year.

It might not have the most exhaustive list of maps and modes, but it provides nearly endless opportunities for exhilarating, coordinated play. When you’re at the center of it, it feels like nothing else.

What’s incredible about Overwatch is how every single aspect of the game presented holds the same remarkably high level of detail and polish, and though the lack of progression systems and small selection of game modes may limit the experience for some in the long term, in the short to medium term, this game is nothing short of amazing.

A collection of firsts, but it carries itself with the confidence and proficiency of a veteran. It has plenty of room to grow and expand, but as our first step into this world, it's inviting, competitive, smartly designed, beautiful to look at, and fun to play. You can't ask for much more than that.

With its fun gameplay and an amazing charisma for standing out, Overwatch is the best candidate for the “best competitive FPS” title this year. Blizzard has done a gorgeous job working on this title, creating a shiny box full of a deep and interesting lore, an outstanding design and tons of fun.

Blizzard and their team seem to have struck gold with a perfect combination of class based, team-centric first person shooting with their latest entry in their storied career. They show that in an era of overpriced and overwrought online only first person shooters, Overwatch stands out above the fray, to deliver a meaningful, competitive experience sure to last for years to come.

Many people have put in more - because they've had fun playing it. Got hooked on the beta. If you haven't played the beta, that's probably the only reason you don't already have the full game. In all seriousness, it does something that no other shooter on console has done successfully - created a fun, truly team based, engaging, competitive game that has a high skill ceiling with a low barrier to entry and lovable characters. On the surface it is simple, but play it for a while and you'll understand why Overwatch exceeds the hype. Expand

Maps for the most part all play well and uniquely, all characters serve a purpose. Easy game to play but hard to master. I enjoy the wide variety of ways you can play the game, but some explosive abilities can be a little OP. Look forward to a competitive mode and what ever other additions they bring.

Simply put, it is an extremely addictive game. Combining FPS with MOBA elements is a very exciting touch to the generic shooter genre. The core of the game is heavily dependent on TEAMWORK. Without teamwork, goodluck winning any game whatsoever and it's not going to be fun. In short, this game is brilliant and a lot of fun. Some people feel like 40-60$ is too high a price to pay for such a game. However, if you think about it as an online experience without ANY cheaters whatsoever, which most online games lack, then 40$ isn't so bad a price. Expand

Ok, so this game is definitely fun for the most part, aside from a community that got very cancerous and rabid about the game before it evenOk, so this game is definitely fun for the most part, aside from a community that got very cancerous and rabid about the game before it even came out which made me initially cancel my order for it, I got it because all my friends were moving to it. Firstly, without that, the game does not particularly justify either it's cost or the COD style microtransactions, which should NOT be in here (damn you Activision). The story/opening cutscene bit hints at interesting lore and PvE which is totally absent, and is therefore totally confusing; had this game had some sort of PvE it could have been pushing towards 9/10. Other games get **** for not having coherent SP campaigns of this sort, but the Overwatch marketing machine seems to have given it a pass. No doubt I'll still be playing this for as long as my friends are, but personally I have found very few characters gratifying to play as, mostly due to the lack of sprint, making play slow and irritating if you die a couple of times in succession (hence I mostly use Tracer). No doubt this is a good game, if somewhat lacking in content, but as usual has been hyped up to such proportions that all the mainline reviewers were only ever going to give it 8/9/10 etc. Why these people get caught up in the hype even more than most of the player base I have no idea, but maybe the user scores can be a little more representative. This game could and probably will have a better rating when more content comes out for it. Oh and f**k the Loot Box system, that brings it down from a 7 to a 6 straight away. Expand

I assume thatBlizzard did a lot right with this game, but they were apparently not interested in making a game that is fun to play solo. I assume that eventually players will learn what to do and cooperate (similar to WOW), but for now most battles are a disorganized mess. Unfortunately, even when players do learn how to cooperate, I think the simplicity of the objectives will become a negative. The other major problem is that there is no real progression. You can gain levels, but so what. Leveling has no impact on your abilities/stats. Without the ability to improve your character, I think this game will get boring pretty quickly. There is just no feeling of progression at all. This game is probably a blast to play with a group of friends but we don't all have 5 friends standing by when we feel like playing. Expand
