High On Life is a fun and humorous FPS that, while not innovating on the genre, is a joy to play all throughout its main story. However, it lacks a little technical polish and optional goals.

V Rising makes being a vampire fun, with a great feeling of being both predator and prey. With plenty of challenges to face, both from the world and other players, alone or with friends.

From undesirable to undeniable, WWE games have come a long way in just a few years, and WWE 2K23, with its plethora of models and solid gameplay, is a strong contender for “GOAT” status.

SNØ: Ultimate Freeriding is just a really nice and casual skiing game with no frills or filler. It’s a simple idea executed very well.

TYPECAST is a very enjoyable arcade title for those who love typing games, though its entry-level difficulty might prove to be a bit high for those who aren't used to the keyboard.

With wonderful writing and art, this game is amazing. There are a few flaws in the mini-games that can be mostly forgiven. I would absolutely recommend giving this dating game a chance. Definitely worth it.

While it is missing some features, DYNASTY WARRIORS ORIGINS is a fun time and a great place to hop in for newcomers!

Wizard of Legend is a welcome addition to the library of procedurally generated roguelikes, offering players a challenging arena-based dungeon crawler with unforgiving combat and a vast number of abilities to choose from. Occasional performance niggles can ruin the experience, but they are few and far between.

Len’s Island is quite good in a subtle way, taking its time to make you appreciate its mechanics and world. It rewards those who take their time, explore the land, and prepare for whatever the darkness may throw at you.

For fans of the series and newcomers alike, Shin Megami Tensei IV: Apocalypse is a quintessential JRPG experience, and one that only has some very minor issues.

BLACKTAIL is an RPG full of exploration, crafting, and magic. Based on Slavic Folklore, this isn’t your typical happy story; this is a dark tale full of difficult choices. It may take some time to learn how to use your bow well, but once you figure out the proper timing and technique, you will be more successful in battle.

Persona 5 Tactica is just as stylish and fun as any of the main series. While it does hit the same beats as other stories in the franchise, it’s still a great time if you give it a try.

198X feels like it was made specifically for me and my nostalgia. Despite it being very short, I love everything 198X is trying to do and I think it succeeds with excellent results. I can’t wait to see what kind of games they will bring in part two.

An unbelievably impressive title, Out of Hands takes a saturated genre and breathes life into it in such a unique manner.

UDO is a great game if you loved Downwell, with its fast-paced gameplay loop and “one more try” type of feeling after each and every failure.

While definitely on the short side for its price, I had a lot of fun with how simple a game it is, and it’s perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora is a fantastic addition to the world James Cameron brought to life in the films. If you love the Na’vi and Pandora, you won’t be disappointed with this one.

Despite not standing out from other open-world driving games, The Crew Motorfest is certainly a fun, fast, and flashy arcade racer that has a wealth of content to keep gearheads busy for a long time to come!

Pac-Man Museum+ is a great collection of games from the Pac-Man franchise. There are games you are sure to have played before, titles you haven't, and great multiplayer games to check out.

The most compelling plot and potential twist the series has had to date with fun missions and a return to perhaps the most iconic location in the series’ history. The moon is definitely haunted but it’s a lot of fun hunting those ghosts!

A unique rhythm based shoot-em-up game with a killer heavy metal soundtrack, detailed pixel characters and environments with tons of personality.

The Following expansion pack is a fantastic, enjoyable addition to an already great game, you’ll bound not to find a dull moment within. By the end you’ll be wanting to do nothing more than get behind the wheel and creating chaos as you speed across the dirt roads, taking down zombies in a field of blood splattering glory.

SteamWorld Quest Hand of Gilgamech is a very fun, beautifully designed RPG, deck building game that can be beaten in a short time but does have some minor drawbacks.

The greatest CRPG of the Windows era with some updates and controls from HELL. Buy it.

A fantastic port and a suitably solid way of seeing off the original trilogy of titles. Nightdive has rarely failed to deliver and Turok 3 is still a fun time.

Deadzone: Rogue was worth the wait. It has an addictive gameplay loop that will keep you coming back even after you die again and again, and there’s always something new to upgrade or check out with every attempt.

An extremely distinct investigation game with the rare confidence to let you actually be a detective, and a fun groove to boot.

Monster Hunter Stories is a charming and adorable monster-catching experience. Become engrossed with its characters, hatch some Monsties and have a blast in the humorous world and its weirdly addictive gameplay. Definite recommend.

Bravely Default 2 on the Switch is a competent JRPG that doesn’t really try anything new, but it does everything so well that it doesn’t even matter.

Once Upon a Jester is a hilarious, heartfelt experience with improvisational gameplay, excellent voice acting, and replayability. Though the shows can feel repetitive, branching dialogue and varied genres keep things interesting.

Rebel Galaxy Outlaw is a fun and addicting space combat game with an amazing soundtrack. However, controls can be really weird without a game controller and playing it for the first time is very daunting unless one watches a 40 minutes long introductory/tutorial video.

Firegirl: Hack ‘n Splash wastes no time throwing you right into the platforming action with a trusty axe and high-powered hose to navigate the levels and rescue the survivors. With only three-minutes the game forces you to think fast and figure out how to conserve your limited water supply. With procedurally generated levels, no two runs will feel exactly the same.

The Last Worker delivers in almost all aspects: beautiful aesthetics, great dialogue, and a satisfying gameplay loop all combine to create a genuinely fun title that is much more than what I initially expected.

A Plague Tale: Innocence wasn’t even on my radar and I’m ashamed because I would have missed out on this great game and now that I’ve told you, don’t make the same mistake I almost made.

Its simplistic nature might not be to everyone’s taste, but The Block is a game for those who appreciate a few minutes of relaxation. A chilled experience that’s prime for unwinding.

Its gender depictions might not have aged like fine wine, but there’s still nothing quite like Catherine: Full Body. Whether you play it as an anime visual novel, a nightmarish puzzle or bizarre fighting game, it’s a richer experience all-round.

What True Colors lacks in the emotional gut-wrench that the previous games have, it makes it for with a refined format that presents a story that fits right into the series and tells it in the best way seen so far. You're very unlikely to be disappointed here.

With perfectly crafted levels and an awesome electronic soundtrack, Vandals proves to be a great entry into the turn-based stealth genre. In many ways, it captures the sensation of what painting at night feels like.

Expedition Rome's Death or Glory DLC adds plenty of content that is sure to please newcomers and hardcore fans of the game. That said, the amount of new content might not warrant a full playthrough of the game again.

Ghosts ‘n Goblins Resurrection is a great addition to the classic Ghosts ‘n Goblins series. The visuals are beautiful and with the option of different difficulties, abilities to learn and level choices this game is fun to play no matter your skill level.

A very nostalgic-style RPG with cute art and an interesting story. If you're looking for something new yet old-school-inspired with occasional notes of goofiness, this is a game for you. Definitely consider giving it a try.

Motorcycle Mechanic Simulator 2021 is a surprisingly calming game that teaches you more about motorcycles, with deep customisation and attention to detail that could make you lose hours of your life.

Type-NOISE: Shonen Shojo has a drama-filled storyline with fun references and a surprisingly deep message. With challenging puzzles, mini-games, and stand-out artwork, this is a refreshing take on the usual visual novel.

By taking the best bits of a few different genres, Gunfire Games has come up with an exceptional formula here, and brought us the surprise hit of the year. Sure, it’ll take you a while to “git gud”, but it actually feels like it’s worth the practice.

Hopefully the rest of the season manages to sustain this level of quality.

Vault Survivors is a strategic roguelike shooter with a great story and plenty to discover. I just wish it had full controller support and wasn’t quite so punishing as you approach the 20-minute mark.

Five Nights At Freddy’s: Into the Pit is a great 2D game with an interesting, tense, and scary story. You might not expect it, but you jump a few times!

For a title one year in development, Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened impresses with enjoyable — albeit simple — puzzles, a fun story, and beautiful visuals.

A Hat in Time doesn’t reinvent the 3D platforming wheel, but it walks it with such confidence and panache that it would be criminal to overlook this game.

Panic in Sweets Land is a side-scrolling beat 'em up that is bursting with cuteness and happy vibes. It's a game where you save characters using happy feelings stored in sweet treats! Constant button-mashing may feel repetitive after extended gaming sessions.

Trepang2 is an absolutely brilliant experience. Combat is insanely fun and satisfying, and the story is entertaining. The price tag may be a little high as the content is thin, but the fantastic gameplay loop makes it worth the time and the money.

The purrfect game for cat lovers with adorable art and several different endings. If you've ever wanted to date cats, here you go! Game does only have one graphics setting, though, and on a PC that met minimum system requirements it did struggle.

Station to Station is a fantastic game, with a beautifully calming atmosphere, yet slightly lacking in content.

Yakuza Kiwami does a whole lot right, while only making a few errors. Other than the control scheme being a bit dated, Yakuza Kiwami comes together as a solid remake of the original title.

Tails of Iron tells an impressively deep story with no dialogue and keeps you entertained in the interim with witty charm and gruesome combat. Definitely worth a try if you are a fan of soulslikes.

Weird West blends a lawless world of gunslingers with the supernatural to great effect, and had me gripped the entire time. This is one adventure you need to experience.

Scene Investigators demands the attention of a real investigator, with the determination and knowledge to crack cases open. For the patient and studious, you’ll be greatly rewarded for your efforts.

Battlefield 6 takes the franchise back to the classic four-class formula and adds in new features to make the qunfights smoother than ever. With a short but fun single-player campaign and great multiplayer potential, this may be one to check out.

A striking abstract visual style soundtracked by a jazz freakout as improvisational as its gameplay, Ape Out glories in its primal rage for a wild ride. Give into its rhythm and bloodlust, and just go ape!

A much better and well rounded version in comparison to A New Customer Arrives! but this serves to rectify the complaints and deliver in some sections as opposed to other. Overall, an easy recommendation for someone wanting to dabble into VNs. One of the best VNs I read this year? Maybe, considering I’m planning on reviewing 18+ more. We’ll see. A review of the lewd may follow.

Little Kitty, Big City is a cute and cosy game that makes you feel like a kitty, causing chaos to get home. The camera can be a pain, but the game is so sweet, you must play it!

Guacamelee! 2 is a worthy sequel. DrinkBox has retained and refined everything from the predecessor, while adding a number of number new features that improve on the formula. An overabundance of platforming segments can be frustrating, but the combat is as fun and as hectic as ever!

Robotherapy is a beautiful game with an incredible message and story, only slightly bogged down by its incredibly short playtime. (taking only an hour to beat).

Overall Peaky Blinders: Mastermind is well built, no issues with graphics, glitches or sounds other than the puzzles being so hard that I decided to call it a day, I might go back to it in the future as I do like the game and that's not just because of the Peaky Blinders.

Shantytown is a fantastic little game, that could do with some minor adjustments to reach the heights it’s capable of.

Great 2.5D take on the world of Teslagrad, with a fun puzzle dynamic and plenty of head-scratchers within. Well worth a look in if you’re after a modern take on the early Zelda games.

Symphonic Rain is perfect for someone new to visual novels and provides an unforgettable story that will stay with you for quite some time. It’s short, sweet, and packs a punch that you don’t see coming.

I’d like to recommend Nordhold to anyone willing to try it out. It has complex yet easy-to-grasp gameplay and design, with enough depth to keep you coming back for more to see if you can do better this time.

Fae Farm is probably some of the most fun I've had with a life simulator once I accepted it for what it was. If socialising and role-playing is very important to you in a game, maybe skip this one!

Although Rabi-Ribi presents itself as a light-hearted adventure about chibi animals, it’s actually a frantic, bullet-hell RPG under the hood. It might be the best modern Metroidvania title we've seen in years.

The Puzzle Maker: Cebba’s Odyssey is an excellent puzzle game that will challenge and surprise you throughout all 200+ levels.

One of the most polished biking sims I’ve ever experienced, MotoGP 22 will please both series veterans and newcomers willing to take the time to learn the sim-heavy mechanics.

Tikamoon Plains improves on many of the issues the base game has, such as character interactions and animal AI. If the views won't keep you coming back, the characters and hints of mystery will!

Turnip Boy Commits Tax Evasion is a super cute and pun filled game starring an adorable Turnip who is in financial trouble and obsessed with ripping any paper he can get his hands on. Will he ever pay off his debt?

If you enjoyed Turmoil, you'll enjoy The Heat is On. Definitely play the base game first to be sure you have the mechanics down, or you might not make as much money drillin' for oil as you'd like.

A strong return for the series with enough changes to make combat feel fresh and exciting, some great new characters and an awesome soundtrack. A fun time from start to finish.
