You don’t have to pay hundreds of dollars for a US SNES version on eBay, import a Super Famicom and game from Japan or play the weaker PSOne version. This game is not only one of the best games ever made, but one of the best DS games available right now that every DS and RPG fan should have in their collection.

If you enjoy role playing games, especially Japanese role playing games, the Last Remnant is a must buy. One of my favorite Square Enix role playing titles in years with much potential and hopefully a patch will fix the few noticeable graphic issues.

The game is stunning, the sound is great … some aspects worked so well but then a few glaring flaws popped up. A few more months in development and this game would have received my highest praise. But this is still a very solid game to share with those young gamers close to your heart.

There’s a little something for everyone in Easy Golf. Casual players both young and old will find the game to be graphically appealing and easy to pick up and enjoy, but there’s an audience here for hardcore gamers as well. The player created courses can bring a challenge to this game. While a little pricier than other XNA titles, be assured this is a game that is overflowing with features and content that goes beyond what many Xbox Live Arcade titles offer at the same price, giving players a full Arcade-style golf title for their money.

Even if Skate It isn’t the perfect skateboarding game, EA has delivered a solid game on a system that definitely needs innovation and something else than just dumb mini-games. While the game has a daunting learning curve and some average graphics, the game is worth checking out as it will find a nice and warm place in your Wii game collection.

This is more of an open, sandbox game with no consequences for doing things your way. Regardless of the length of time you play each session, you’ll find yourself pulled back to the game as soon as you switch to something else. This is one little XBLA game that is definitely worth 800 Microsoft Points ($10).

If you’re an Alone in the Dark fan and you have the two consoles, the PS3 is definitely worth picking up. But we strongly think that the game remains a good rental since once you’re done with the game, the interest to replay it again won’t be present. But please, pick up the PS3 version.

Ultimate Band does have some great features, that really make the game interesting. However, interesting doesn’t necessarily make it fun. Control issues and the lack of a mic for the frontman position kill some of the potential, and the squeaky-clean feel of the story will put off veterans of other series’ out there.

Judgment is by no means terrible, just mediocre. It’s as if someone was reading "Making Fighting Games for Dummies", and literally followed the instructions step by step, without thinking about ways to make it something more. Considering the history of the series, there’s so much that could have been done, and just wasn’t.

After seeing what Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune brought to the table and the way Tomb Raider Legend was introduced to the next-gen world back in 2006, I was expecting Crystal Dynamics to deliver one heck of a Tomb Raider. Unfortunately, even if the game offers some novelties, Underworld doesn’t make any huge splashes and won’t wow most of the gamers as the same frustrating gameplay elements from past iterations are putting a dark cloud over it.

Rabbids is still the best minigame compilation in town, hands down. If you liked the previous versions even a little, you definitely need to pick this one up. Just be warned, the game really shines with the balance board, so if you don’t have one, borrow one. You’ll see what I mean.

Don’t get me wrong, I liked Lips, it’s just that I expected a lot more from it; especially after seeing what SingStar was able to deliver. Plus knowing the fact that Microsoft is the king when it comes to social networking, this game feels rather incomplete. Lips will surely give you, friends and family, hours of fun if you only have an Xbox 360. If you have a Playstation 3, I would not be surprised if you end up playing SingStar more often.

One of the more expensive XNA Community Games out there at 800 Microsoft Points (about 10 bucks), this might detract some players given that it’s a Community Game; however, the sharp, professional quality mixed with addictive gameplay and expansive game selection makes Biology Battle quite the bargain.

Even though you can finish all four chapters in just over four hours, the amount of replay value is immense. Weapon and ammo stations change, zombies will pour out of one area the first time through and another the next time and if you stay still you will get swarmed by a ton of zombies. This is a must buy for any action fan.

If you like action racing games this is a worth while rental at the very least. There is much to do in the game and even though it feels like the game is just missing some key factor to make it one of the best arcade racers around it is still enjoyable.

If you are an Everquest 2 role player or just a player who enjoys the rich and fascinating lore created for the Everquest games then you should pay special attention to the new story lines available. They are by far some of the best written for any MMORPG and shows that SOE is still the company who can create some of the deepest and most creative worlds for people to explore.

If you’ve been just craving a snowboarding game for a while now, SWS is worth a shot, but only because it’s the only gig in town. It’s not a bad title, by any means, but it lacks what made games like SSX and Amped so great, which is a focus on the sport itself.

Facebreaker is a hard title to rate. It’s lacks the depth of a fighter, the skill of a boxing title, and the super cheap AI can and will put most people off. Yet, the gameplay is so fast and furious, it does have the potential to be fun. Add a few friends to the mix, and you’ve got a reason to at least rent it for a weekend.

I love(d) the Banjo-Kazooie series for years and they were the best reason to keep your N64 around for many gamers. But while this new Banjo-Kazooie title is one game I liked, I found it to be a bit boring to play at times and it honestly lacks or feels that it lacks a true identity to be either a game for kids or for adult gamers. Highly recommend it as a rental, but make sure this is a game for you before buying.

While older audience might find the plot and story (especially the dialogue) to be overly simplistic, predictable and childish; a younger audience will thoroughly enjoy the mystery involved.

As a standalone product, the core gameplay offers a very satisfying simulation of WWE action. If you’ve been a follower of the series for some time, you’ll be pleased with the product but somewhat disappointed with the new features.

With a completely new way to play a Real Time Strategy game and some excellent multiplayer gaming this is one game that is a must buy for strategy fans of any type. If it was not for a few minor issues with the game such as nothing south of the equator and a lack of a cool looking single player campaign presentation wise (it is a great campaign to play though) this would be one of the top 10 played games on Xbox Live for many months.

When I first heard of Legendary I was honestly very excited for the concept of shooting mythological creatures and monsters with guns because it is a rare concept. The final product has me on the fence with is it a worth while game to recommend for first person shooter nuts like me, or to leave it be and forget you ever saw it. As a person who enjoys Clive Barker’s Jericho for its unique first person shooter story and gameplay mechanics I would say this is an easy rental.

Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm is a classic case of style over substance. The game boasts incredible graphics and there is an attention to detail that would make any Naruto fan throw their shuriken’s up in joy. However, the thin combat system truly limits what this pretty package can do.

Valkyria Chronicles is one of the best looking games because of its unique water color art design gives the game a great look and feel. One of the few Playstation 3 only Role Playing titles that is actually worth owning and replaying, so run out and pick up this game today.

If you love the James Bond franchise this is a great game to play single player wise. But it is a rental in the end as the only real replay value is if you want to get the achievements.

While this is not Insomniac’s best work, in fact it almost seems they slept their way through some of the development, if you only own a PS3 (and no other consoles or a PC) this is a great game to play and own, but if you play on other systems you may not as impressed. The single player campaign feels very off at times and not fun, the multiplayer is fun in you enjoyed the original and if you like co-operative games, the co-op campaign is excellent and worth checking out. Resistance 2 is good though and worth a single play through and a few times on the co-op but I expected so much more of it.

There is a lot to like to this about this title but there are some serious gameplay issues that hurt the experience as well. Short, quick maps at the start make the game perfect for travelling/commuting but the gruelling difficulty and choppy turn-based/real-time system make the game unsuited for a casual gaming experience.

But if you did not buy the game, it is not worth starting with Episode 2 unless you have purchased and finished episode 1 and if the first game was not your cup of gaming tea, you should skip this one and play something else.

Back in May, Sony delivered the best SingStar experience ever and sent a clear message to its competitors. But here, it regresses. Sure, it’s maybe good thing for those who haven’t bought the first game but I just don’t understand why, a person like me who downloaded some songs out of the SingStar Store, would buy this one with no noteworthy options like Trophies, Online Multiplayer or a track ripping system a la Rock Band 2 for those who don’t download premium tracks. Don’t get wrong though, this game remains a cool game, it’s just that I expected more.

FIFA 09 All Play is incredibly fun to play. Even though the Footii Play mode only added one more game-type, thankfully 8v8 is the best addition and should be a focus for future editions. This is a solid sports title for the Wii and should be played by all soccer fans.

If you played the first Scene It? game last year, you will find this sequel worth picking up simply because of the addition of the multiplayer mode over Xbox Live and the promise of new questions through downloadable content. But frankly, I was expecting more of it. Sure the improved visuals bring something interesting to the table but after seeing what Sony was able to pull off with Buzz! on the PS3, this Scene It sequel feels not as complete as it should.

There’s a ton to do in LittleBigPlanet, this is one of those games that is quite literally hard to describe because it’s hard to choose what to say first about it. Between the levels provided, the complete customization, and user created levels, this is one LittleBigPlanet that will capture the hearts of millions for a very long time.

This game is part FPS, adventure game and a virtual stock market game. I was impressed by how each aspect of the game works within the core game, and while the game could be a bit more solid in graphics, audio, basically making it more esthetically pleasing. Addictive, very fun and innovative are the best words to describe the game and the bottom line is this is a welcome addition to any gamer’s library so buy this game and enjoy it, I know I did.

Considering just how different this game is from the other Spiderman games out there, it’s easily the most recommendable to anyone who didn’t enjoy the previous two outings. While it never reaches the level Activision reached with Spiderman 2, it’s still an enjoyable romp while it lasts. It’s refreshing to see a game come out that focuses on the dark side of being a superhero, and it’s definitely a trend I hope we can see more of in the future.

Making a sequel to an average can either stay average or improve. Thankfully, TouchMaster 2 improves on the little things without making huge waves.. If there’s a third game currently in the works, it can’t do anything else than improve.

Midway was clever to release this ‘clone’ now instead of waiting for the real Incredible Machine to show up. Either way, this game delivers and for 30$, the investment is worth every penny. Great game and one of the best first person shooters of all time with only a few minor issues such as you will always be on the run and sometimes you must travel far distances for missions. But with plenty of weapons, vehicles, zebras, and for you pyromaniacs out there you can do some major damage with fire, there is a lot of fun to be had.

Star Ocean has always been a fantastic Science Fiction based action Role Playing Game series and this remake of the original game shows how amazing the series started out. For RPG fans this is a must buy, especially if you have never played a Star Ocean game or you are interested in the upcoming Xbox 360 exclusive Star Ocean prequel, Star Ocean: The Last Hope.

Age of Booty is an addicting RTS that while simple to grasp; it has enough to offer hardcore gamers. Confrontation is the best edition of SOCOM yet. The multiplayer is fun and the Campaign does offer a lot of value but the AI issues and the disappointing graphics and sound will put off most people. EA Sports has finally gotten into gear with FIFA 09 after some very questionable releases over the past three years. The sound and graphics are among the best available in any sports game and the overall game-play has improved leaps and bounds from the past HD releases. There still is room for improvement and I am confident that the future editions of Be a Pro will be better tuned and more rewarding.

Very few games achieve instant classic status, and are as fun and rewarding like World of Goo and in the end those three things make Goo a must buy for those fans who love gaming.

If you have friends who own this game then run out and buy it as honestly there really is no more enjoyable multiplayer experience on the PSN at this. Across the board, NBA Live 09 All Play is a poor game that will disappoint any Wii Basketball fans. I will give them credit on using the Wii remote some-what effectively, even with the poor use of it for free throws, but it just does not offer enough value for basketball fans to want to spend money.

In general, everything on the game has been kept to a bare minimum putting all the money on a less daunting experience for anyone who wants to play a basketball game, which is good for some but not for everyone, without caring about what the hardcore next-gen basketball players really want. NBA ’09: The Inside is a decent basketball title, but an extremely fun mini-games collection. Block Party alone makes this game a worthy pick up and will satisfy your portable playing this season. There is still a functional, if not a little bit disappointing, regular basketball option, but you can see that SCE did not put enough focus into appealing to gamers who just want to play.

Graphically the game is every bit a Sonic game, with the bright colors and key level design choices you will recognize from the other Sonic games. There are plenty of big loops and curvy tracks which add to the entire experience. The characters you play with such as Sonic and Tails as well as the ones you fight the robots and even the basic animals you will fight are all designed well and animated very well. The game is done so well graphically, and even if you did not know you were going to look at a Sonic RPG, you could just see a couple of screens and easily see that the game is a Sonic game.

You’ll find yourself repeatedly going back to earn gold medals or trying to hit higher ranks on the online leaderboards as well since it’s easy to get caught up with hauling ass through the short raceways.

Bringing the Blue Bomber out of his 12 year retirement proves to be a great move. This game will have old school gamers remembering the "good ol’ days". A definite must-have for 2D platformer fans, who are up for a challenge.

Its Duke, he is still a bad ass and in the end this version rivals the original with its 8 player Co-op and we finally get a FPS with some cool weapons again. So buy this game… now… and GET SOME!

One of my favorite World War Two video games on any system, if the couple of glitches were fixed it would be my favorite over Call of Duty on the PC. But for your home console, buy this great game and enjoy it. One of my favorite World War Two video games on any system, if the couple of glitches were fixed it would be my favorite over Call of Duty on the PC. But for your home console, buy this great game and enjoy it.
