SEGA clearly didn't want to go all out with Sakura Wars. And it's a shame as the game will probably be most of Western gamers' first introduction to the series. The game has an interesting main story, fun main characters and and its steampunk backgrounds are beautiful. But the dating sim parts are a chore, there aren't enough action scenes and the game as a whole looks like a PS3 game. As things stand, Sakura Wars is probably destined to stay a niche franchise in the West. And that's too bad.- Gameblog.fr

57 usually well thought-out mini-games, funny and full of surprises, that's the main strength of this game. Even though they quickly show their limitations, the use of tactile or regular controls, of the microphone, or the gyro make all this richer and more appealing. A good little game.- Gameblog.fr

Darksiders III offers a good story that fans will surely appreciate. But it feels like the game is coming from the last generation of consoles, both in terms of technology and design.- Gameblog.fr

Fun in many ways, but showing a number of defects that are likely to be in the final Dead Rising 2, Case Zero offers enough playing time to make a first review. This kind of "demo" (worth 400 Microsoft Points) has good things to offer, but do not expect to learn a lot of juicy details about the past of Chuck Greene or that kind of stuff, you would be disappointed.- Gameblog.fr

The LEGO Movie Video Game is not a bad game, and it's a pleasure to have the cast and playgrounds from the movie in front of our eyes again. But it suffers from rhythm and playability issues as well as a lack of imagination. Too bad, Emmet deserves better.- Gameblog.fr

Despite its gorgeous graphics and a superb soundtrack Sable still featureS too many collision bugs to deliver the oniric adventure it is supposed to. Only those who will excuse its many technical flow will enjoy a true chillful and arty open world, with many surprises and enigmatic nomads to meet all the way.- Gameblog.fr

Stranger's Wrath was indeed a pure gem when it released in 2005, was very welcome on other systems and you can have the fondest memories of it. But the stranger looks and feels very old as it comes back on Nintendo Switch. It still has a good heart but doesn't really shine anymore in terms of graphics or gameplay. Still, it has this fantastic western atmosphere. And it is a part of video games history that has to be known. But mostly that makes us hope for some kind of makeover, Abe style.- Gameblog.fr

Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage is a very pleasant surprise for the old fans. When stripped of its IP, it is certainly difficult not to blame him for some weaknesses (a basic level design, poor graphics - still unprecedented for other Hokuto no Ken games), but what many would look as a weakness has also some sort of "curious old-school charm".- Gameblog.fr

Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Mini-Land Mayhem is the worthy successor of the previous episode released on the DS. A fine puzzle game to pick your brains with. Short at first, it still fulfills its goal with additional challenges in the "+" mode, and the editor. It may not be revolutionary concept-wise at all, and even become a little tedious for some, but fans of the genre will be satisfied, thanks to great production values and a solid level design.- Gameblog.fr

This well-written English translation of Shadow Dragon & the Blade of Light proves true to the original script while cutting short through the narration in comparison with the DS remake, just like the gameplay charges straight to the point. A real testament to Fire Emblem's traditional values, though some archaic principles bound this version to an historical interest, even with additional modern options that only alleviate the aging elements.- Gameblog.fr

WWE All Stars is indeed much more of a caricature than Smackdown vs Raw is, but it's for the better: most of it is fun-oriented, the gameplay is dynamic and the return of old stars of the WWF is most definitely a plus. But if humor and grandeur were the orientation for the game, they could still have done more in that direction, like including crazy game modes, or an even simpler, immediately fun gameplay. It feels a little shy in that respect, compared to our imagination, but its a new franchise that we'll keep an eye on.- Gameblog.fr

Good atmosphere, decent production values, a lot of content and humor, funny puzzles, well implemented platform sequences, light combat : that's a lot of pros to make Traveller's Tales' developers proud. Yes, LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean is a rather fun title. But when will this saga revise its basics and innovate? With more than 5 games in the franchise, it may be time to consider that fans may very well like some new blood.- Gameblog.fr

If not revolutionnay, ChromaGun is a pleasant variation of Portal basing its core mechanics on primary colors more than the laws of physics. Quite fun and challenging as soon as it takes liberties from its primal inspiration, Pixel Maniacs' game unfortunately suffers from a lack of consistency from start to finish. Those able to forgive the most forgivable puzzles will get a decent experience that will give your brain a hard time.- Gameblog.fr

Like Yoshi Touch & Go, Ivy the Kiwi? is a nice little game you can treat yourself with like a snack. Not much to keep playing it though, since both the gameplay and content are too light for the long run.- Gameblog.fr

They aged relatively well, those three Jak games. But only the original remains coherent and solid enough to please platforming fans. The two other games are a little less appealing, even though they offer a different mood and take on the universe, with more exploration. Overall, camera issues and some shortcomings pop up a little more today than they did years ago, but it's still a great value package.- Gameblog.fr

Samurai Warriors Chronicles is a good Mûso. It provides its share of new features, and is also better structured and paced than the previous ones. The fans of the genre will probably like it a lot, but it still not a sufficient effort to charm the others, especially since the 3D isn't much more than a gimmick on such a formula.- Gameblog.fr

Without taking the crown of the Kirby of all Kirbys, the one that swallows its ennemies, transforms and holds its breath to fly, the ten little gluttons of Kirby : Mass Attack are a good example of a smart use of the tactile interface of the DS. It takes a little of Pikmin and Mario in the best possible way, even though one might feel like it's getting repetitive on the long run.- Gameblog.fr

CRUSH3D is not only characters that look like the ones of my german schoolbooks, it's also a very good way to relive those horribly solitary moments, standing in front of the blackboard, trying to solve some math problem in front of everybody. It's so difficult that you may get a headache from playing it, trying to use the perspective, and to play with the size of 2D and 3D elements in order to progress in the subconscious of the hero. It's smart level design, no doubt, but the overall art direction isn't really strong, and the difficulty may seem too much too soon. Those who will stick around despite those shortcomings will find true bliss in torturing their brains in order to wrap them up around it.- Gameblog.fr

Sackboy: A Big Adventure is a beautiful yet very classic platformer. Sumo Digital delivers a decent game mostly made for children : with a repetitive gameplay and a lack of real challenge, it still offers to a younger audience an unharmful and colorful adventure. Too bad the DualSense wasn't used more on PS5.- Gameblog.fr

Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster is not a remake and a simple remaster. You’ll find everything exactly as it was in 2006 but with better graphics. Even if it’s still fun to kill hundreds of zombies, the gameplay, the controls, the structure and some technical aspects are painfully outdated. The game has truly aged badly and could have benefited from a deeper work by taking some of the evolutions of the next installments.- Gameblog.fr

Moon Diver is a game from another time. More a sibling of Strider 2, with whom it shares it creator Koichi Yotsui, than a successor, it has the same qualities. New elements like 4 player play and a magic system are thrown un a 90's design, both visually and gameplay-wise. So it's hard for it to feel like a 2011 game; which may very well be both its main strength and weakness. Superplayers will enjoy its skill requirements, others won't find enough in there for them to pay its 15 dollars.- Gameblog.fr

Beyond such exquisite splendor from visual and musical perspectives, Hoa proves simple, if not simplistic, just like the adventure's minimalist, ephemeral nature may reflect the lack of original ideas. A nonetheless passionate tribute to Skrollcat Studios' wondrous inspirations.- Gameblog.fr

Lost Sphear is an all-in nostalgic RPG that never really tries to offer something new. But if the story starts in the most classic of ways, the game will fulfill patient gamers with some more complex stuff, and not-so-easy fights. Unfortunately, you will have to pass through an very generic artistic direction and pointless dialogue.- Gameblog.fr

Serious Sam comes back to get rid of waves of ever-stronger ennemies. Something it doesn't quite do at the beginning, though, but the action starts to ramp up later on. Of course, SS BFE isn't the top of the crop technically, but it's the only FPS of the lot offering this type of gameplay... it will undoubtedly find its fans (if the price drops a little).- Gameblog.fr

I found this on Desura, an indie-only Steam-like, and it could raise an interest among several people : an adventure game where a metalhead is trying to survive a zombie invasion. The two australian developers are aiming at giving us fun, and I must confess that the dialogs and brilliant situations are, indeed, quite funny. It's not hilarious, but it's nice. other than that, sure the 8-bit metal music feels weird, and the visuals are clearly ugly... but one can get used to it, and if it wasn't for the quite perfectible interface, it's 6 hours of decent fun and adventure for a very low price.- Gameblog.fr
