    Moon Diver feels like the kind of game that was released near the end of the Dreamcast's life cycle. It's aimed directly at people who grew up playing this kind of game, with very few token nods to the fact that time has passed between now and 1999. You can usefully compare it to most if not all of the good 2D games of the last ten years.

    So, no, Moon Diver isn't the second coming of Strider. Instead, it's carved out its own niche as a serviceable and party-game-flavored action title. Grab three friends, mash some buttons, and you can't go wrong. Just don't expect it to be Shakespeare.

    Efforts to align Moon Diver's classic gameplay with an environment 20 years removed from its progenitor have only done it harm. The greatest shame is that the game did not fall victim to the caprice of an indifferent natural order; Moon Diver is betrayed by the deliberate adaptations of rational designers.

    I personally think this game is really good but this is coming from someone who loves sidescroller action games and rpgs. If you don't mindI personally think this game is really good but this is coming from someone who loves sidescroller action games and rpgs. If you don't mind the difficulty of the single player then you should be alright with the game. You can customize your favorite character by finding Moonsault Combos (or MCs) and by upgrading your stats as you level up. There are a few problems and that is that the multiplayer may be confusing for a majority of players and some levels will force you to grind levels. Overall in my opinion it's worth it if you enjoy these types of games… Expand
