    Saints Row revises its structure and reduces its sandbox angle in favor of a more coherent and polished world and gameplay experience. The campaign missions are packed with fun, surprises, and new stuff, and worthy of praise on their own. Even though one will feel a little less free and overwhelmed with stuff to do than with the previous episode, the trade-off is worthwhile.

    Comprehensive, realistic and highly technical, Madden NFL 18 rises to the level of the best sports simulations games. Boosted by the Frostbite engine, the game is not only a visual feast but also offers quite a decent challenge for advanced players.

    On top of a rather large industrial complex, Stealth Inc. 2 explores new methods of infiltration through the GamePad, its asymmetrical functions being wonderfully exploited for the cooperative manoeuvres. But such precise operations require some skills that only hardened secret agents possess.

    Madden NFL 17 retained its must play title status among sport games. Small progress was expected but this new episode is full of convincing novelties such as its new easier gameplay and its "Franchise" mode.

    Six years after its initial release on PC, Hotline Miami is offered with its suite Hotline Miami 2 : Wrong Number (2015) on Switch, through Hotline Miami Collection. If the two titles have been available for some years now on PlayStation consoles including PS Vita, the attraction of being able to play these two cult titles on a portable console such as that of Nintendo is obvious. Hotline Miami games always offer a cryptic story ticking all the boxes of subversiveness, hypnotizing like the bloody scrums in which it plunges us, the cries of flamboyant synthesizers and heavy and threatening beats. Two of the best titles of the decade to discover or re-discover for a discerning audience.

    N++
    N++ may have simplistic graphics, it is anything but simple. With its combination of precise gameplay mechanics and hellish level design, N++ is a must have for platform games fans.

    Donkey Kong Adventure is a worthy addition to the Kingdom Battle experience. The DLC's universe is a fun and colorful as the original game's while the new characters and battles add some freshness to the mix. We hope it's not the last we hear from Rabbid Peach and Rabbid Cranky.

    Valkyria Chronicles 4 take the series back to its roots for the better. The new E Squad may use the very same twists and stories as the first episode, but the game itself stills delivers a solid war experience somewhere between the tactical genre and the TPS. Unfortunately, only those able to accept its naive manga tone may enjoy this light experience : indeed, the endless and sometimes pointless conversations are a real nightmare.

    As we expected, PES 2015 is back in the game. This first edition on PS4 and Xbox One (even if this version is visually a bit disappointing) will please all of those who were missing the unique feeling from the series. Beautiful and incredibly enjoyable when you get to improve your skills and understand how it works.

    Antichamber may very well be one of the best puzzle games in a long, long time. Artistically, in terms of game design, and atmosphere, the purity of the logic and the humbling approach to teaching you to trust your brain, almost everything in it is a bliss.

    Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed is one of the best love letters written to Sega. It's a new reference in the genre, so one can been keen on forgetting about some of the characters of the original that disappeared in this sequel, the occasional frame-rate issue, or the loading times.

    Some remakes simply have the 'money-spinner' label stuck to their foreheads, but Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4 exudes passion through every pore. One could argue that it takes too few risks, but that's a small criticism for such a great game. This second update is pure fun. It's pure arcade fun, with an addictive formula, new cards for the first time in 15 successful years, and an abundance of cosmetics to unlock. A must for fans of the franchise.

    Sky : Children of the Light's composition spreads elegantly both in style, sublime and poetic, as well as in content, through traditional principles, yet harmoniously breathed into it while deeply meaningful to carry such an elevated purpose. Some touchy turbulence overshadow this ideal picture, when ThatGameCompany ventures across down to earth themes, or tends to lose its lantern among the mist created by this ever-evolving universe. Its humble existential, altruistic message stays nonetheless limpid, the economic model expressing rare generosity, like an open hand.

    A true Masterpiece. That's the word that comes after having accomplished this trip in the company of John and Sam. Varied level design, fascinating story, funny and endearing characters, fantastic visual and audio… Eastward has it all. Much more than a pale copy of its illustrious models, Pixpil's neo-retro game ticks all the right boxes to establish itself as a pure 2D action-adventure gem.

As always, it is essential. However, this year's edition is arguably the most worthwhile release to date.

    PixelJunk Shooter 2 builds on the formula of its predecessor, with shooting, puzzles, traps, and a lot of various fluids to play with. The new gameplay mechanics are perfect and with them, Shooter 2, thanks to a well balanced difficulty, is an impeccable action title. Too bad that the multiplayer is but a small bonus, but it's not reason enough not to play the game!

    Super Mario 64 keeps its whole interest from historic and nostalgic points of view, a revolutionary approach that Super Mario Sunshine spreads in every sense of the word, while Super Mario Galaxy takes off literally outer space, among the brightest three dimensional platformers. Such true ports preserve these masterpieces' authenticity, but the Super Mario 3D All-Stars title suggested more, both in content and style. Brilliant HD renditions with fully available soundtracks on the go don't shine enough to overshadow some old issues and Super Mario Galaxy 2's glaring omission from this otherwise stellar collection.

    Namco has a knack for adding stuff to its franchises without changing their core appeal, and TTT2 is no exception. With a massive roaster, deeper gameplay thanks to the tag mechanics, and an impressive content, it's probably the best Tekken to date... even though the overall visual taste and quirky humor are starting to feel kind of old.
