Torchlight got successful on the PC thanks to its action RPG styled gameplay, and the lack of competition in the genre. These strengths remain in the XBLA version. The console controls don't undermine the fun of the formula in any way, but like the PC version, try and play on a higher difficulty level, otherwise it's too easy !

With Jurassic World Evolution 3, Frontier Developments delivers the most complete and polished entry in the series so far. The studio didn’t reinvent the formula but refined it in almost every way. Natural breeding, modular building, improved animations, and global park management finally bring the depth and cohesion the previous games lacked. It’s not perfect, micromanagement is still light, AI can be clumsy, and systems like finances or faction contracts could use more bite. But despite these flaws, the game remains a joy to play. You can easily lose hours building, tweaking, and simply admiring the prehistoric world you’ve brought back to life.

In spite of the recycled, hence reliable machinery, Kirby: Planet Robobot is simply mecha powerful.

Bowser's Minions were not the reinforcements expected for Mario & Luigi, but such pugnacious tactical digression strengthens the hilarious narrative as well as the whole adventure, while the astonishing amount of content and gameplay improvements make this completely overhauled Superstar Saga even more shining.

Sea of ​​Thieves is highly recommendable in 2024. Beautiful to tears, gripping and incredibly immersive, it's a real bubble of fresh air to do with a group of friends who are also fans of piracy. Accessible, but deep, complete and full of things to discover, the game does not offer any redundant mechanics and never forces us to grind unlike many service games. So much so that it’s even quite destabilizing at first. But once you have crossed this threshold, once you agree to play just... to play and have fun, and not to perform and win, the pleasure is increased tenfold. A must have to discover with your friends. On the other hand, for solo players, Sea of ​​Thieves will not really be recommended. Not only do we lose a dimension of camaraderie on which the game relies heavily, but as a bonus it will be difficult to get by, unless you opt for peaceful mode without any players to face. But here again, we completely lose what makes all the sea salt of the game and that would be a real shame.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is an excellent game but clearly not without flaws, even if the numerous innovations make it the best episode regarding infiltration. However, Naoe carries the game on her own, when Yasuke only has a central place in the story and not the gameplay. Hitman Episode 6: Hokkaido is a good conclusion to a pleasant season of assassinations, with a lot of opportunities, a great setting and a vast complex to visit quietly.

TrackMania Turbo offers an original and addictive gameplay, with a large amount of fun and competition.

Contra Anniversary Collection is a perfect way to jump back to the fast-paced action of the genre, with some of its best games. With 10 great games which still deliver strong challenges, every fan of the run and gun genre should really consider giving this celebration a try.

Gone pretty unnoticed during its first release on the Wii U back in 2015, the title developped jointly by Atlus and Intelligent Systems was and still is a niche game, mainly aimed at both JRPG and J-pop enthusiasts. This second iteration only provides some new minor features such as costumes and an original dungeon, where the characters dreams can be fulfilled... Quite a program, but still technically flawed, specially on TV mode.

WWE 2K24 is clearly aiming at wrestling fans. They will not be disoriented level taken in hand by the arrival of new features in the execution of certain shots. Nor by the few technical flaws. The new games are way too much fun and the Showcase mode dedicated to Wrestlemania is really successful. But the graphic limits and a certain lack of variety in the content, are all defects are unfortunate. But WWE 2K24 succeeds in its mission : to entertain us.

Treyarch did a good job with the Wii U version of CoD Black Ops 2. The content is the same as on PS3 or Xbox 360, the graphics as well, and of course on this version you can play on the GamePad itself, or even use it as a second screen for player 2. We would have liked the touch screen to be used also for the gameplay, though.

The PS4 version is very close to the PC version even if it a bit less impressive visually. There are a few graphic bugs on the water surfaces, nothing really bad. Whether it's for matchmaking or framerate, the experience is complete. Clearly the best co-op FPS of 2019.

Lone Survivor is some kind of Silent Hill game in pixel art 2D, and it does a very good job frightening you all along, maybe better than other cult series AAA games today.

Mordhau is a slap in the face and a pleasure at every moment. Much more than a spiritual sequel to Chivalry, it's an exciting game. Deep, easy to understand but difficult to master, it's a breath of fresh air for video games.

Shift 2 is full of wonders: a unique helmet camera view, immensely immersive, its full of races and cars to customize, it's extensive, visually splendid, and blessed with quite good physics... But sadly, all those pros are spoiled by really crippling shortcomings, preventing it to overcome the two references that are GT and Forza. An annoying AI that continually hits you for no reason, and this even more enraging latency in the steering dynamics. With those two defects corrected, EA would have delivered something truly outstanding.

Borderlands 4 takes a turn that won't please everyone. In an attempt to satisfy some fans' requests, the developers have lost sight of the game's identity. It is less funny and striking than previous episodes, and it is only in its secondary content that we find some small, funny, offbeat stories. It's only after a few hours, or when playing in co-op with friends, that the game really comes into its own. Borderlands 4 is extremely generous and will keep you hooked for hours before you even reach the endgame. While it's undoubtedly a good shooter-looter, it's clearly not the best game in the Borderlands series.

Even if those who know the first episode can feel a bit disappointed because of the lack of new ideas, Reigns: Her Majesty is still an great way to live like a queen, thanks to its atmosphere, its funny universe and the quality of its narrative.

Ghostrunner is a very pleasant surprise for anyone who likes to keep gameplay at the center of their experience - to the detriment of the narrative side. Accurate in 99% of cases, it challenges both your sagacity and your reflexes. Those are what you will need to sharpen in order to be able to improve your scores on your second run and to benefit from all the capacities of your character. If you like Super Meat Boy and/or Mirror's Edge and adhere to the Cyberpunk worlds, don't miss Ghostrunner.

Untitled Goose Game is a delightful experimentation which delivers laugh after laugh, ruining the daily life of poor humans. Unfortunately, the fun stops way too quick after a very few streets corners, leaving the player thinking what this clever but unfinished business might have been.

The Pedestrian is a wonderfully crafted puzzle game. As it shines visually and with its very pleasant soundtrack, it offers a simple but brilliant concept, with a great difficulty curve and new ideas that make it simply unique and absolutely lovely.

Castlevania Lords of Shadow Ultimate Edition features the original game along with the two DLCs, all that in a superb new dress. The graphics, revamped for modern day PCs, are really beautiful (except during cinematics) and the game is still very good. However, you will absolutely need a game controller to enjoy it.
