Despite the promise of renewed fun through this time travel idea, Raving Rabbids : Travel in Time doesn't offer anything new compared to the previous ones. It's slow, there's but a few mini-games really fun, and in the end, it's more boring than not.

Having a copy of those cult Super Mario games from the 8-bit era is almost reason enough for a gamer to get this collection. But it's still a "light" edition of Super Mario All-Stars (the Super Nintendo one), with few bonuses - the liflet is pretty but not really full of surprises nor knowledge, and the audio CD has 10 tracks and 10 sound effects that, sure, you will love hearing crystal clear again. But it could have done more.

Two Worlds II made a lot of progress, on a variety of fronts, compared to the original, but manages to keep the same shortcomings at the same time. It would be a good idea to stop adding stuff and balance what's already there ! To sum it up, it's like an RPG appetizer to wait for more and better. It's likable for its secondary quests, rather than its main one.

If this new GoldenEye will not replace the original in the heart of the players, if it is unlikely to be remembered in ten years, this new adventure of 007 still performs brilliantly. The graphics are quite good, the staging is dynamic and offers some nice moments of adrenaline, the multiplayer modes are fun... without reaching the excitement we get the original in 1997, of course, a matter of historical context. Anyway that's solid shooter we have here, and that's good news for the Wii!

Thanks to a "back to the roots" formula, Criterion succeeded in restoring the right path for the Need for Speed series : the chase HQ style pursuits between the police and the crazed drivers. It manages to do this with an inspired approach, borrowing from the original game or more recent ones, like with the finesse and fun inducing in-game equipment. The Autolog feature is a true revolution community-wise, and the online play guaranties hours of added fun. Can we ask for more ? Yes ; a less "heavy" handling of the cars, for an even more dynamic urban rodeo. The best NFS game since the third installment.

Congrats Treyarch, you passed the test. Black Ops still has some technical flaws (some erratic scripts), but it doesn't lack ambition, variety, nor freshness. Its solo campaign boasts a good scenario, and its multiplayer is as comprehensive and solid as ever, while changing some basic systems for the better and introducing soon-to-be-cult new modes, as well as community features one could only find in the latest Halo iterations before. There may be ways to improve it yet again, but the 2010 CoD delivers on its promise - we can't say anymore that Treyarch's Call of Dutys don't measure up.

Donkey Kong Country Returns was clearly made by fans for fans of the original on the Super Nintendo. For trained gamers, indeed. Because behind its alluring colors and refreshing world and atmosphere, lies a spicy challenge, sometimes even a cruel one. Not all levels are as such, but two types specifically aren't as precisely tuned as the others, and become somewhat frustrating. But the experience is undoubtedly well thought, blessed by inspired mechanics, even if its diversity remains below the original. A great game, but not a Royal one.

Warren and his team did it : they brought back MIckey's former videogame glory. There are still some camera issues tainting the gameplay, but the variety (with quests and choices, 2D gameplay phases, etc.), its clever mechanics, brilliant art direction, and great music make it an integral herald of the heritage of excellence of its 16bit ancestors. Its bewitching world, with its melancholy vibe, will undoubtedly charm all Disney and Animation History fans. Its a must-have for the Wii.

GT5 pushes the realism of the race even further and has very, very rich content, with classic races and also new additions like Karting and NASCAR. We also warmly welcome the cockpit views, the new race circuits and all the 1.000 cars. But above all, whether with the wheel or the controller, the driving sensations are really, really fantastic. Unfortunately, some stuff remains committed to values that could be described as "outdated", particularly in terms of AI, sound effects, collisions and damages. We would also have expected much better weather effects, and we regret that only 200 Premium models feature cockpit views and high poly-count. Frustrating. Graphically uneven, GT5 seems to have been finished in a hurry (same with the online mode). Of course it remains a safe bet that it would be a shame to ignore, but as early as now... we can't wait to play GT6!

Sure, the augmented reality brings something unusual to the game. Feeding your pet, play with it, check its health, etc. does have something magical to it, especially with the familiar backgrounds of your own home. But beyond this initial amazement, the not-so deep activities, the technical limitations of the PSP's camera, and the annoying loading times will tarnish the fun you can get in the long run. That's why the PS3 version remains so much better.

There's probably a safest bet you haven't tried yet, though.

Brotherhood isn't trying to make easy money. One can surely grunt at the lack of mythology revelations and average story (but still unmissable for the fan) of the campaign, but its gameplay has been improved in almost every way. It's massive (at least 12 hours if you're not trying to get everything), and rich with a lot of new stuff, both small and big (starting with the assassin's guild mechanics). We'll see in the long run if its multiplayer will prove to have more strengths than weaknesses, but it's already, and unmistakably, one of the most refreshing experiences of late, with games that are an inspiration for ruse, cold-blood, and cunning.

Beautiful, nicely cinematic and with spectacular gameplay and level design, Sonic Colours is a big step in the right direction for the blue hedgehog. Dance Central succeeds thanks to its sexy playlist and design (especially its interface), but its movement recognition as well. Pro dancers and rythm-disabled alike will have fun playing it. Some will find challenge in reproducing all the choreographies, others will put the hip dancing moves tips to good use. Too bad the game doesn't have a lot of modes, a way to create our own choreographies, not a larger playlist (fewer than 40 tracks). But Dance Central works: it makes us dance and laugh.

Blood Stone has been a weird experience for me. Its playability is dynamic but wonky, its production values are really inconsistent, its linearity fades a little when playing in difficult mode, its solo durability isn't so great but its multiplayer remains nice (though not great), and the non-stop action would be charming if there wasn't that repetitiveness. Pros and cons, to sum it up. Blood Stone will not be a future reference, that's for sure, but Bond fans may still enjoy it.

The game is very complete in terms of game modes and choice of wrestlers, and it perfectly recreates the atmosphere and the fun of the discipline. Ghost of Sparta is a tech demonstration that knocks out any competition on the PSP. Its combat exudes an unmatched feeling of power and exhilaration, and the epic directing we've come to love is back, as thrilling as ever, from start to finish. It's another unmissable iteration for the series for beat'em up and kratos' fans alike, even though its story isn't really its strong suit, and some attempts at offering novelty in the gameplay aren't that convincing. It still works beautifully. We still hope next time, the developers will risk a little more in order to bring some novelty into the mix, even though with such an IP, it's obviously a difficult thing to achieve.

It's hard not to see flaws in this Fable III, which is less convincing in many areas than the previous one. Its inconsistent production values (sometimes beautifully executed, sometimes lacking a lot of polish), the over-simplification of some things that are sometimes not that efficient, the less than inspired bestiary: potential reproaches are numerous. But despite all those, Fable III, like it predecessors, remains so charming and mesmerizing that it works. The coop mode is a bliss (at last), and even though the "being King gameplay" is clearly underwhelming, one cannot be bored by this new Albion. Yes, Fable III could have been better polished and more ambitious, but it's still a game unlike any other.

In the Gothic games I once knew, to grab the teeth of a Razor, you had to know the required skill. To cook meat, you had to sit next to the fire and get your frying pan out. When you entered a house to steal something, you were promptly tossed outside by the owner. To progress, you had to study the factions. There was life, there was atmosphere. ArcaniA : Gothic 4 is but an empty shell masking no RPG, but just a poor action game with an undead story. What a waste.

But if this innovative side is well expressed through the visual, it's not in the gameplay, which is inspired by a variety of other existing games, but without any inspiration to merge all this in a clever way. But it doesn't really own these qualities : they are like a patchwork of ideas from other titles like Dragon Quest IX, Monster Hunter, FF XII or Tales of Vesperia, and even though the formula holds its ground in the end, the "already played" vibe is a serious flaw to its identity, that even Toriyama's designs can't seem to make us forget. If you let yourself be charmed by its lush world and its well portrayed characters, you may tolerate its flaws in order to follow its narrative, and the various sequences. With 80 mini-games and 13 modes of play, Wii Party easily becomes a new standard for party games. It's richer and with more variety than a Mario Party, it's smarter, faster, fitting more easily any kind of game you want to have ! Sure, you need friends - it's a immovable rule of the genre, so don't expect to enjoy this one solo either. Sure, there's always some mini-games and modes that are less inspired than others, but globally, its density and fun factor remain quite high, even without Mario and his gang.

Font Mission is like a 1995's Virtual On, but without Sega's talent, both in terms of game design and customization options for you Wanzer. Oh, and the production values are clearly not on par with what one can expect from an average current gen HD game. If it wasn't a quick buck drawn from a prestigious name, I don't understand what Square intended to do with this.

Compared to the king of the genre, UFC Undisputed, I must confess I have a personal preference for EA Sports MMA, thanks to its accessibility and "easy to pick-up" philosophy. UFC remains the deepest of the two, and benefits greatly from its official license, but this first foray of EA on that front really establishes it as a serious competitor. It's especially true if you're looking for online play, where EA's experience is really shining in comparison to UFC. So if you're not already a hardcore fan playing UFC, but just someone who's interested in starting up with something more noob-friendly, EA Sports MMA is just for you.

It's rather clear: Fallout New Vegas is everything Fallout 3 should have been. Well, in terms of freedom and storyline that is, since from a technical side, it's as disappointing as ever. All we can do is pray and hope for their colleagues id Software to lend Bethesda a decent engine - Obsidian couldn't do miracles with what Bethesda's coders gave them, and sometimes it even ruins some nice gameplay ideas like their crafting system. But in the same manner everyone overlooked the flaws of Fallout 1 & 2 because their creators were storytelling geniuses, Obsidian's work on New Vegas is good enough to make us forget about all the lesser details - except maybe the overall lack of challenge.

One may have a lot of preconceptions when witnessing such an apparent carbon copy of Samurai Warriors, but with a little time to overcome them, Capcom's game finally reveals its differences and qualities. With its over-the-top and satyrical side, it succeeds in establishing itself as a different take on the genre. it's even a well executed take on it, both technically and in terms of gameplay.

Quite frankly, now that the point and click genre seems to be reborn again, with quality titles like the Sam & Max series or indie gems like Machinarium, it's hard to be lenient. Even though it has a decent length, and could satisfy some casual gamers, I can't really recommend this dull and soporific Black Mirror 2 to anybody. Even to be mean.

Putting some difficult years behind, the 2011 edition of PES has become attractive again. But if it's been able to catch up in any way, its more with what was expected from previous editions than with its competitor FIFA. On almost all fronts, except its interface, formation menus, and ball physics, EA's title seems superior. PES remains an excellent football game, and will be loved by many, but like the "Oranje" team of Holland, its latest performance isn't the best ever, especially when compared the other team.

The Writer follows in the footsteps of The Signal. In terms of gameplay, thanks especially to a better, more daring level design, it will serve fans with some nice sequences. And story-wise, well, it wouldn't be a compelling thriller setting if all questions were answered, but it still delivers a fulfilling end to this first season, while leaving a door open for a second one. But if we are to dive in it one day, it will need to rise up to an entirely new level in terms of gameplay, this time.

It's too little, too late. With fierce competition to hinder its efforts, Medal of Honor fails to provide, both in terms of quantity and quality, an alternative of choice. It's still an above average experience, but the campaign remains stuck between the realism angle and the needed fireworks of the genre, unable to impress on either one of them, while the multiplayer sacrifices deepness and precision in order to remain more accessible and bridge the imaginary gap between Battlefield Bad Company 2 and Modern Warfare. No co-op, too few maps, a globally poorly designed from a gameplay and tactics standpoint, stuck on top of an otherwise good game design ; too bad.

It's ugly, there's no AI, and in the end, kids without high expectations might enjoy it, but it's probably my duty to inform you that your little brother will be better off playing a good ol' Nintendo World Cup on your dusty Game Boy.

FIFA 11 is huge. Filled with licenses and data, amazing production-wise, with photo-realistic visuals and incredibly truthful animations, EA's simulation delivers a convincing gameplay paired with a thrilling atmosphere. From the rumbling of its stadiums to the hit music of its menus, this 2011 edition fills us with joy, as it's surprisingly able to innovate yet again, despite the franchise already being the frontrunner. Praise the 11 versus 11 online play with the ability to play as the goalkeeper. You're more of a manager. The career mode is there for you. Add several subtle additions here and there, and this year yet again, we'll have to call it "the king FIFA". And if the way EA Canada has paved up until now is any indication, it seems the throne isn't ready to waver.

Its production values are more than fair, its playlist well furnished, and you can always import tracks from other versions for a small price. Few are the areas where Halo : Reach doesn't benefit from Bungie's obvious intention to deliver a definitive farewell episode. Aside from french voices and music that are simply good (but not as fantastic as one would hope every single aspect to be), and new covenant weapons slightly off when used in the solo campaign, Reach delivers a brilliant solo experience. The story may not be surprising, but it's a well told one. Reach remains awe-inspiring for its implementation, scope, diversity and richness. Its system of ruses, most notably, is absolutely brilliant for building up effective attack and defense strategies, especially when you're able to keep most of your real intentions concealed up to the very last minute. It's a game one needs to approach from afar, with the intelligence of a general, and a real soft gem in a world of brutish RTS games. It's a really different alternative to StarCraft II that really deserves attention, if only to discover another way to wage war.

For fans of the genre, Joint Assault isn't going very far in any aspect. But its combat remains nice, even though its playability is a little slow at first, since it takes some time for it to become more dynamic. Its production values are average, similar to the previous 2006 PSP episode (Skies of Deception), but its missions clearly lack ambition or surprises, much like its politico-economic fictional backdrop. To sum it up, the flight plan lacks any noticeable turbulence to spice it up, but it's still nice, especially when playing coop or competitive with and against friends.
