  1. With a killer track list, exciting new Quest mode, social networking, and more challenges and star rewards than most of us could ever earn in this lifetime, Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock is easily the biggest and the best installment of the franchise to date.
  2. In conclusion, I thoroughly enjoyed Guitar Hero Warriors of Rock and the minor tweaks in the game definitely makes it a fun experience. The quest mode is a blast to play and with its mythological heavy metal inspired story, it's definitely a great incentive to get players to finish the title.
  3. So if you've been pleased with the series so far and love the latest set list, you're going to have a blast with Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. But for everyone else who hasn't been completely sold on the Guitar Hero franchise, there's nothing going on here that's going to change your mind.
  4. A decent set list of guitar-driven tunes, as well as many of the solid holdover features from the last game, amount to negligible compensation for the lack of meaningful additions.
  5. Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock is a sold title. With that said, there are going to be some people that are disappointed that Neversoft didn't try to push the envelope with anything.
  6. Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock had a lot of promise with an attempt at a more story driven Guitar Hero experience than before. However, even with a voice over narrative by the legendary Gene Simmons himself, the game still feels as unexciting to me as any of the recent music-simulation games on the market.
  7. Warriors of Rock offers a minor facelift but ignores the sagging infrastructure, and it's not a direction that holds much of a future for Guitar Hero.

Small fixes to the game engine improve playability and additions such open bass note sustains and ghost notes on drums add to the experience. The setlist is top notch and just about every song deserves to be in the game unlike previous entries that had a lot of lackluster songs. The story may be cheesy but the whole thing is tongue-in-cheek and the overall atmosphere really harks back to the days of GH3. This game does what it sets out to do, please hardcore music game fans. While some will attack the lack of innovation, this game was meant to do one thing: please fans of past games. If you enjoyed GH3/GH2 you can't find another game (nor will you) that resembles them so well. RB3 is promising new features that may turn out great but WoR looks to have the best shredding available. Expand

Not a Rush fan myself but they shouldn't use more than one song by them. One artist at a time. The next time they make another Guitar Hero, they should put songs that were featured in the Rock Band games like The Clash's Should I Stay or Should I Go, Deep Purple's Highway Star, Primus' Jerry Was a Race Car Driver, Judas Priest's Painkiller an others. At least the game uses downloadable content. Expand

I believed that this sounded fun and managed to pick the game up with one of the new axe guitars (which has a flaw in it itself) for £44.99. I was lucky that i got it for that price as usual retailers priced it at 60! which was way too much. Dont get me wrong its good...but....only good. The quest modes to short, easy and boring. I found that i didn't really give a damn after about 4 songs who the characters actually turn into and they dont even look that godlike anyway. I believe this is just a case of neversoft having to go back to the drawing board and come up with an idea that will keep the public intrested. very mediocre Expand

Sadly, the addition of a so-called "quest mode" does nothing to hide the same old flaws that have been present for the last several iterationsSadly, the addition of a so-called "quest mode" does nothing to hide the same old flaws that have been present for the last several iterations of the Guitar Hero franchise. Activision continues to simply milk the brand name for all its worth, and does nothing to innovate, improve or expand the game into something worthwhile. If this has been their first release...perhaps the game would warrant a 5 or a 6, but they've been in the business of making rhythm games for too long now, and should know better. Their stunning lack of quality and polish, the narrowly-focused playlist, the overcharted tracks and general disregard for the music itself...not to mention the focus on nothing but getting a high score... This new Guitar Hero is just a sad copy of the last few that came before it. If you honestly enjoy music (and not just high scores), then save your money and pick up something like Rock Band 3. You'll be much happier for it in the long run Expand
