Sonic Colors is a fantastic game. Its greatest achievement is that one does not have to be a super-tolerant dyed-in-the-wool Sonic super fan to enjoy it or to forgive a laundry list of flaws.

Sonic Colours is a worthy successor of the saga we have learned to love in the 90's. Quick and easy to master, the game brings a lot of fun and it's really enjoyable by all kind of players.

After many years of average games, Sega finally gets back on the tracks with Sonic Colors: everything the fans were hoping for is here, packed with gorgeous graphics and solid new game mechanics.

A long overdue return to form, with a focus on what made Sonic fun in the first place. He's always been fast, but it's good to finally see him speeding in the right direction.

The latest game featuring Sonic is a mixed experience. It's the best Sonic-game since the 2D Sonic games and it's a fast, beautiful game with a lot of great levels that you can play many times over and over. But the controls can cause quite some problems and the multiplayer part isn't as good as it could have been.

Sonic Colors feels like a step right back into the same crap this series has drowned in for the past decade. If I had to pick a color for this game, it would be brown, for very obvious reasons.

The game also has a fantastic soundtrack with stunning visuals for the Wii hardware. The story could be interesting but the writing is pretty dang bad, hurting the game a bit in the long run. The game is short and the act structure really could use some improvements, however, this game came out at a time where Sonic needed to find it's footing amidst the criticism of fans and critics, and for that reason, the game fully succeeds at that, especially for the general audience on the Wii console. Overall, a great step for Sonic Team at the time to release a streamlined experience with one fun game-play style that's endlessly replay-able. Let's just hope the good writing and the varied usage of the diverse cast of Sonic characters makes a comeback someday, as that's what the series has been lacking for a far too long of a time. Expand
