Mighty No. 9 is an extremely niche product. The efforts of the developers do not reflect the millionaire crowdfunding campaign that gave birth to the game, but the final result is still more than decent and can be really fun for those who love this videogame genre.

The PC version of Dark Souls is one of the poorest console portings of the last five years. The charm of the game remains unchanged, but the low resolution and the bad optimization for keyboard controls are clearly visible.

The first narrative expansion of Watch Dogs Legion: Bloodline is a strange creature: a sort of hybrid between the classic course of the series and the more libertarian approach followed with the latest iteration of the brand. Although the DLC does not always manage to find the right balance between its two natures, generating some fluctuations both on the playful and on the narrative side, the result is a fun and smooth experience, which ultimately manages to achieve what is its goal number one: to offer early-stage fans a functional closure to Aiden Pearce's story.

Proposed as an encounter between Ikaruga and Prince of Persia, Outland disappoints most of the expectations. The excellent graphics package, the opposition between light and shade, isn't enough to hide a gameplay often understated. Outland conflicts with a level design unable to enhance the gameplay. A good fighting system and memorable boss battles help a little.

The first episode piles up this cauldron of topics, and the hope is that the next acts can give each narrative theme the space and depth it deserves. Given the premises, in any case, the memories of the twins Tyler and Alyson - however painful - still deserve to be (re) lived.

A somewhat embarrassed and mechanical, cooperative and competitive script that sometimes clashes with the thoughtful, reflective and weighted nature typical of an interactive thriller.

There's no doubt that Rainbow Six Siege tries to offer something new in the competitive FPS genre, and that's something that deserves praise. On the other hand, whatever mode you play in PVE or PVP, what you get is basically the same experience, over and over. The tactics may be interesting, but it's not enough, neither when it comes to unlockables. On top of that, the netcode isn't even nearly refined as the gameplay formula would require.

In spite of those who since the announcement have criticized Square Enix's choice to set aside the Valkyrie Profile turn-based combat system, the spin-off packaged by Soleil has entertained us with a solid and varied playful mixture, a level of challenge satisfying and a lot of strategy. What is not convincing, however, are the renounced narrative component and the dated technical sector, which suggest obvious problems related to the budget. Ultimately, Valkyrie Elysium may not have fully hit the target, yet we are convinced that, with the right investments, the playful formula synthesized by the Soleil studio could prove to be a winner. In this sense, the hope is that a possible sequel will then be able to express the full potential of the spin-off.

It's an interesting rework of classic metroidvania mechanics, where the teleporting ability adds something new to the mix. It's a shame for the final part, too quick and clearly lacking the depth of the first half, and the general lack of content.

NBA Jam gives the player the 90's style of gameplay that fascinated a lot of gamers in the past. Unfortunately 360/PS3 gamepads did not work like Wii Mote, decreasing the funny component of the experience. There are also lot of issues with the AI.

If you're really interested in the saga, you'll probably want to give this a try, but, on the other hand, gameplay and graphics haven't received any upgrade at all. If you've already played Inazuma Eleven 3, there are practically no reasons to be interested in this edition.

Almost absolute realism is Golf Club's mission, but in pursuing this goal, the development team seems to have neglected fun, which should be at the very heart of every videogame, especially a sports one. On the other hand, if you love golf and a true challenge, this might be your green of choice.

Grand Mountain Adventure Wonderlands is the perfect game for those who want to spend time in total relaxation without repeatedly attempting to overcome a complex timed challenge (as long as you don't feel like doing it anyway). If you are willing to turn a blind eye to some problems concerning the control system, the camera and the technical sector, the Toppluva AB title will know how to entertain you, especially if you have the opportunity to play it in company thanks to local multiplayer support. In case the idea of such a product should tickle you and the price of 19.99 euros is too high for the type of offer, we strongly suggest you try the free demo available on Google Play Store and App Store, so that you can get an idea of the complete package by trying what is probably the best version of the game.

The Pokémon TCG Pocket must be analyzed for what it is, that is, a mammoth but clearly evolving work. It is the most ambitious digitalization ever of the popular card game, as well as the main attempt to modernize its core mechanics in a few years now. From a technical point of view, the mobile app is well made and collectors will be happy to spend hours and hours immersed in decks, binders and displays of their favorite Pokémon. At the same time, a sparing distribution of the rarest cards risks undermining the experience of all users, from those who just want to "catch 'em all" to those who aim to experiment with as many competitive decks as possible. For this latter type of player, however, the biggest obstacle to overcome is the simplicity not only of the mechanics, greatly streamlined compared to the originals, but also of the cards themselves. Simplicity that can make sense in an introductory set, of course, but which must absolutely give way to deeper strategies in the near future.

Despite being rooted in a valuable gaming system, supported by a convincing technical sector, Metro Awakening struggles to maintain its initial momentum among the numerous stages of an adventure that, in the absence of noteworthy variations, is longer than it should be and - especially in the final hours - rather repetitive. Vertigo Games has done a good job in adapting the atmosphere and characters of 4A Games' post-apocalypse to the interactive framework of virtual reality, but without managing to compose a fully balanced and satisfying offer. Metro Awakening remains a worthy product, but it struggles to compete with the best experiences on PSVR2.

Dream Chamber is an extremely traditional point and click adventure, featuring some original solutions in the gameplay which would not have obvious defects, if not a certain simplicity in puzzles and riddles solution, longevity about 4 hours and a not easy understandable key reading.

As lovers of the narrative aspect of Hidetaka Miyazaki's work rather than the high level of challenge regardless, we struggled to fall in love with Eldest Souls. Because, while trying in some way to mimic the fragmented writing cleared by From Software, this experiment fails to be evocative in the same way.

Asterigos: Curse of the Stars does everything discreetly, but nothing really well. It is a full-bodied production in practice, because it combines an extended narrative with a playful system full of interesting features. However, his very appreciable desire to be easily usable is not able to combine a good underlying complexity. The simplicity and immediacy of the individual game elements often represent more of a limit than an added value, with the adventure that just can't shake off that feeling of enjoyable but inconsistent lightness.
