It could’ve been a really good game, but the developers stumbled on the basics. Terrible interface, awful beginning of the campaign and mediocre AI take most of the fun out of Satellite Reign. [12/2015, p.46]

Controls are not as superb as in Trials Evolution, physics engine not as perfectly precise and the challenges not as insanely over the top. That’s why Urban Trial Freestyle is a rival for Joe Danger rather than Trials Evolution. [CD-Action 06/2013, p.75]

Although it might look like a Dead Space’s relative, Dolmen is more of a low-budget mix of Returnal and The Surge. Everything it does decently, it borrowed from other games with very little original input. Dolmen is simply late to the party and with competition so strong and numerous, seems unnecessary. I can recommend it only to the most famished soulslike fans if they can get it at a significantly reduced price.

It’s hard to find anything original in Tales of Xillia and I’ve seen its every element done better elsewhere. [CD-Action 10/2013, p.70]

I see no good reasons to recommend this very short and very simple game, but it has a peculiar charm that makes it impossible to trash it either and is strangely enjoyable despite its mediocrity. [12/2015, p.49]

It’s a shame that Attractio is so ugly and its story is so bland, because the puzzle are really well designed and their difficulty is properly balanced. [03/2016, p.57]

It’s a game that does some things really well and other really badly. If you’re willing to endure the latter and you’ve already finished Wastelands 2, you can give Dead State a chance. [03/2014, p.78]

The biggest problem with Cities in Motion 2 is that this game is extremely user-unfriendly. Gameplay is sluggish even with the highest time compression and the interface contradicts ergonomics and intuition. [CD-Action 06/2013, p.80]

On a basic level Diablo Immortal is an enjoyable game that channels Diablo II and III. Sadly, aggressive microtransactions you encounter every step of the way, a rift between those who pay and those who don’t, and mechanics designed to slow down your progress ultimately make it not much more than a perfidious cash grab.

There’s hardly any game in 911 Operator (your main tasks is to connect colorful symbols) but I appreciate its educational value (i.e. you can learn what stroke symptoms are and how to stop heavy bleeding). [06/2017, p.72]

One of those heavily scripted games that make you go from point A to point B through corridors built of visible and invisible walls. Even taking a bath in a creek kills you, and there are two weapons available. [13/2013, p.70]

The competitive mode is fine, but the rest of the game is not. It’s short (no unnecessary background-building scenes whatsoever), the characters are just shallow cut-outs, the choices seem meaningless and on top of all I experienced some technical issues. [01/2018, p.64]

Fat Princess Adventures is cute and sometimes funny, but so shallow, repetitive and boring that I was fed up with it halfway through the 7-8 hour long campaign. [02/2016, p.55]

I really wanted to like P.A.M.E.L.A, so I was willing to overlook its minor flaws. The voice acting is awful, the combat bored me, but I did enjoy crafting, hacking, and exploring beautiful Eden. What I couldn’t ignore though, was the game’s performance. Not only did P.A.M.E.L.A. run frustratingly poorly, but its engine also clogged up every ca. 40 minutes (regardless of PC specs) and the only thing I could do to make the game playable again was restart it. I didn’t expect much and I’m still disappointed. We were promised spectacular gunfights and breathtaking heists, basically an interactive gangster movie, but instead got a mediocre game with some interesting ideas (e.g. roguelike elements) that failed to outweigh dated overall design, awful AI and poor writing. Well, at least it has co-op.

I’m not surprised Sims fans are upset with this pack, as it was released in a truly abysmal state. Tartosa might be the most beautiful area in the whole game, but the expansion is almost unplayable, as many of its elements are either disappointing or simply broken.

Cosmophony sits somewhere between rhythm games and Tempest, but instead of enemies you have to fight steeply rising difficulty level which becomes tiring in the third stage (out of just five) and absurd in the fourth. What was a bigger problem for me though was that instead of testing your skill and sense of rhythm Cosmophony makes you memorize the obstacles’ placement – it’s the only way to avoid them at breakneck speed. For such a modest, simple game, developed as a student project and given out for free, it’s surprisingly enjoyable, but let’s be honest – if you play Curse of Mermos, you won’t remember it three months later. [09/2015, p.65]

At first, I found Transport INC to be quite engaging, but things went downhill after a couple of hours, when I realized that it pretends to be deeper than it really is. Its biggest flaw is that you can’t influence the economic environment in any way. You can’t develop cities or create supply and demand by building manufacturing plants or extracting oil. I feel Skully had huge potential but due to the overall low quality (dated visuals, samey levels, poor voice acting, terrible camera) I can’t recommend it. If you choose to play it for the story (which is actually quite good), remember to use a gamepad, because keyboard and mouse controls are horrible. [10/2020, p.71]
