Whilst Cube Creator 3D isn’t exactly a terrible game, serving its purpose as a 3DS sandbox builder well, I just can’t recommend the game due to how limited it is. If, in the future, an update added more building materials then I would be able to recommend it, but in its current state then I’d warn against buying the game.

Super Flippin’ Phones is a decent game with a few interesting mechanics that differentiate it from multitude of similar looking games out there. Gameplay is addictively challenging and mechanically concise and there’s little if any pretension behind the game’s premise – honestly, knowing nothing about the title before playing, I went in expecting to be met with the same old endless runner experience. Although currently lacking in content and variety but considering its very reasonable launch price, Super Flippin’ Phones is well worth its value because it’s straight up fun.

An average game to play. It has its moments of brief fun, usually with friends but its repetitive nature means it does become boring a little too quickly. Not to mention the lack of online play which seriously limits the game potential. However, for the price that it is and the game time you’ll get out of it, it’s certainly not something that can simply be overlooked.

A game with a lot of nice qualities and a small smattering of flaws. The co-op / shadow mechanic is a fantastic idea and this is a lovely little game to showcase it. However the puzzles themselves feel a tad dry and could have been expanded upon. I really like the game’s style and atmosphere, however due to the convoluted nature of single player mode I believe you’d probably get the most out of this game if you are playing with a friend.

It’s fun in it’s own way, for a while, but I think the developer would be better off remastering Oozi into one non-episodic game and bringing that to a new audience. Yes, there’s only three game modes (two of which are simple free-for all’s) and only five maps for each. It isn’t a game many will play for hours on end but if you’ve got the extra controllers it’s a great way to battle your friends like it’s the ’90s again.

This game is fun, yes, for a while in single mode. It can be enjoyed for longer in co-op, but I still would not say it would have your attention for a long time. I feel like after maybe 10 times playing it with someone, it becomes forgettable and you would delete it to make space in your library. For a retro gamer, it is nice to put this game on and think back to playing it at the arcade, but otherwise, this game is essentially here for a good time, not a long time.

The combat is average at best (and downright poor at worst), while the less said about the platforming sections the better. Nothing here is broken, (a case of damning with faint praise if ever there was one), but honestly, the sense of disappointment is often palpable given the overriding sense of this being a horribly missed opportunity.

Its lacklustre gameplay feels repetitive and provides little scope for strategy when you’re in a jam. The boring visuals of Paranautical Activity almost cry out that they’re unsure of themselves, leaving players with the idea that the developers just said “that’ll do”. Aaru’s awakening is a gorgeous game with a great story. Due to the sheer difficulty of the game, replayability is very low. Once I got through each level, especially the boss level, I did not want to go back and play it again. As a matter fact it makes you lose interest in the game period.

Ocean Runner seem’s like an original take on one of the most overused genres, although invest some time and you can tell Gilbert is out of his depth. The familiar yet fun gameplay and addictive power ups unfortunately do not make up for the misplaced music, drab storyline and lack of replay value. Ocean runner does not sink or swim but it does float.

I just wanted to be more involved and play as these characters with fantastic abilities. While special powers, gods and demons are nothing really new, the themes within Tokyo Babel could make an awesome video game, as a digital manga, it’s somewhat average.

Perfect Angle was a bit of a disappointment for me. I felt like it had so much potential when I watched the trailer, but ultimately it lacks polish and gets bogged down with gimmicks and a subpar plot.
