Discovery is a strong sandbox game that, in terms of creative options, arguably even manages to surpass the game it so clearly draws its inspiration from. That being said, many will no doubt be turned off by the lack of any sort of survival mode.

While Discovery boasts an enormous map and plenty of available resources, it suffers from a lack of originality and pales next to Minecraft. The game is also affected by several technical flaws and the lack of an online mode makes it less appealing, despite a competent local co-op multiplayer and an overall good presentation.

It pales in comparison to Minecraft, and lacks the originality it needs. If this game had been released a year or two earlier, it would have been received better, but in a world where many companies have tried to make Minecraft 2.0, this game just does not have what it takes to be included in your game library.

    Not much here to discover
Discovery is basically minecraft creative mode with only a fraction of the choices…
You start with a randomly generated world that can be saved while playing.. so oyu keep all of your progress…
The game supports psvr, so it has that going for it, but really nothing else…
There are no tools here, there are no weapons or enemies..
Youre just given infinite blocks and items to do with whatever you want in the world…
A shallow world at that.. theres no digging deep caverns or exploring caves… no uncovering the mysteries of the world you spawn into..
no collecting.. no crafting.. no magic
its just stacking blocks in a pretty large but dead feeling world..
You can run around or fly around.. jump around though the jumping is extremely unresponsive…
There are animals here that have no use..
    Lava and water doesn’t flow…
    Trees don’t catch on fire
    Theres no local coop
theres no reason to own this game except for maybe the vr aspect because minecraft exists.. if you don’t have minecraft buy that instead..
I cant speak on the vr elelments as I don’t on a playstation vr, but having one is the only reason to even consider this title…
    I give discovery
    a 4.5/10
