Giving players more of the same isn’t always a bad thing and Splatoon 2 gives Switch owners another fantastic game to add to their lineup. Taking the formula from the Wii U original and tweaking it here and there the game might not surprise all that much, but it does deliver a fantastic and unique shooter experience from start to finish.

Taking one of the most genre defining and well-loved games of all time and rebuilding it from the ground up was a tall order, but Square Enix pulled it off with modernized gameplay and a fleshing out of the world and many characters compared to the original. While only featuring a portion of the story fans know and love, Final Fantasy VII Remake still manages to feels like a complete game, yet still part of a larger narrative to come, and will have fans waiting anxiously for the next entry as soon as they finish.

Raw Data is like the final solid release of VR gaming's first wave, and the beginning of the second. It's gorgeous and features a large, expansive world, but it does still offer the same wave based shooter gameplay that has dominated the VR space. One of the few PS4 exclusives that lives up to the "Greatness Awaits" slogan. There's a special element to games from Naughty Dog that deliver the type of single player experiences that can stand on their own, offering the perfect blend of story telling, visuals, and gameplay -- everything else I just consider a bonus.

Developing a reimagining of the original game instead of a sequel was a risky move, but it pays off handsomely with a robust weapon system and outstanding gameplay meshed perfectly together in the visually beautiful Ratchet & Clank.

With a haunting soundtrack, great sound effects, a great visual style that stands out from the crowd, excellent commanding gameplay, and the plethora of options that you'll be able to take to achieve victory, you'll find yourself excited to try to take command of the Spice, even if you end suffering a crushing loss. Overall, Ripout is a decent experience for its price, but only if you're on board with everything it's trying to accomplish. [Early Access Provisional Score = 60]

Overwatch 2 is a great game, but it is held back by its own identity crisis, lack of content, and questionable choices. Despite its blemishes, Overwatch 2 is a must-try experience, especially if you are playing with a dedicated squad of friends. Whether you click with it right away, grow to love it, or try it and bounce off, the core gameplay of Overwatch 2 is undeniably fun regardless of its external flaws.

Galactic Glitch surprised me by providing many hours of fun in a genre that I'm usually not interested in. Its elegant design, addictive gameplay, and unique mechanics make it stand out, even though the meta-progression and balance in later levels could use some fine-tuning. Coming from someone who does not usually go for roguelike and roguelite games, I was hooked within the first 15 minutes and had a blast throwing rocks at my enemies. Although Palworld can provide an enjoyable experience for a while, it's a hard sell. It feels like halves of two different games that, when put together, don't seem to make a whole. [Early Access Provisional Score = 50]
