Death Stranding is one the best games to be found in PS4. Kojima-san delivers an open world in which we have to represent a bridge between the narrative of the game and other players in order to keep moving forward as part of a world that needs us. The game introduces characters that keep on evolving until we reach an ending for the ages through a story told like very few would be able to. Death Stranding knows how to toy with our emotions, and it manages to arise anguish, tension, solitude, sorrow, joy and provides a conclusion that completely stuns us. The end is only the beginning.

Luigi returns with an adventure in which most remarkable virtues hide behind his playable mechanics. Nintendo has managed again to create a game where what we do and the environments we travel through are with connected tightly. The game and the player meet in an experience the feeling of discovery is the greatest reward and, ultimately, puts Luigi's Mansion 3 onto the list of the best of Nintendo Switch greatest titles.

Showing itself as a game that is extremely faithful to the original one and greatly respects the starting point of the franchise, MediEvil Remake is shown as the perfect opportunity to relive the adventure of Sir Daniel Fortesque with nostalgia. Breakpoint is the result of a work in which the changes show the arrival of novelties to the saga that though they entertain in many aspects may not convince the saga lovers too much.

Layopi Studios points with great ambition to the production of a game that belongs to that forgotten space between indie and Triple-A productions. Devil’s Hunt manages to be a fun and entertaining action game. However, the final result does not convince at all, and fails to compete as a solid and differentiated proposal from other existing titles in the market.

Despite not being excellent, Daemon X Machina is a breath of fresh air for Nintendo Switch. Its most interesting points are its freedom of customization and action, and being able to pilot your own mecha is pretty satisfactory, even though it has some control problems.

Blasphemous is a metroidvania game that is just good in terms of gameplay, but manages to be outstanding with its art and setting. A folkloric piece of art in the form of a videogame that results in one of the most attractive indies of 2019 so far.

The Walking Dead and Clementine say goodbye to the world of video games with a gold brooch that rounds out the experience, offering exclusive material that the most curious will appreciate. It presents the four seasons of history, and adds the adventure starring Michonne to complement. If we add to this a graphic review for the first games, we have a product that satisfies the lovers of the genre and that they should not miss.

A good adaptation with very few technical flaws that preserves all the fun coming from its addictive gameplay.

Children of Morta takes the mechanics from the roguelike genre but manages to craft a truly narrative experience. An unique game that offers fun gameplay mixed with an emotional story full of heart. One of the greatest surprises of 2019 so far.

Gears 5 has become the biggest reference in Xbox One: The Coalition has managed to understand the roots of the franchise in order to create an excellent game that perfectly represents the IP and everything it stands for. We start saying goodbye to the current generation with an incredible game thanks to all of the new options added to both the story mode and the multiplayer.

Man of Medan is a perfect game for lovers of interactive adventures. A horror story that although more predictable than we would have liked, offers us a great experience and a lot of choices that can cause it to end with more or less survivors. In addition, the social component that allows us to play with friends online or with up to 5 friends on the same console, are an added weight when enjoying this experience with more people.

Bloober Team has managed to forge a new horror game that, although it turns out to be extremely faithful to the lore of the universe created by the first film, it manages to position itself as a product with a unique personality. Its mechanics, setting and artistic design come together to offer a title that tries to generate fear in the player showing respect to his intelligence and avoiding falling into the most overused topics of the genre.

Remnant: From the Ashes is a game that mixes every trendy mechanic. Shooter, procedural generation, Souls-like combat, online focus… But, somehow, Gunfire manages to make something unique ad fresh that, even with some flaws, is fun ad interesting from the beginning to the end.

Astral Chain is one of the best experiences of the genre on Nintendo Switch. PlatinumGames has managed to revitalize the gameplay and take its complexity and sensations further than it has ever done before. The combination of character and legion implies having to take into account double the elements while fighting, which at the same time allows for better combos and a comforting sensation whilst carrying out whatever movements we want to.

The addition of way too many systems as well as mechanics have caused all of the good things in Control, which are a lot, to get shadowed by other elements that are either not appropriately resolved or that do not really add to the overall value of the game. It still is a very enjoyable piece due to its gameplay as well as its visual and artistic level, but it inevitably leaves a bittersweet feeling given that it comes from Remedy Entertainment, a studio that I did not expect to leave this many unattended elements in its narrative.

Double Fine enters the roguelike genre proposing an experience that, although is dazzling at an artistic level, it presents some frictions in its gameplay. Growtopia jumps from mobile devices to consoles bringing with it an experience with a structure that does not completely fit into these platforms. Its waiting times and other typical mechanics of the smartphone gaming market make this adaptation a difficult one to enjoy in a traditional way.

It is a fun and light alternative that allows players to enjoy an adventure full of fan service in co-op mode, although it has some camera problems.

We found ourselves a complete, long adventure with countless possibilities: a real homage to Dragon Quest and its legacy. It is a vide ogame that, as a spin-off, manages to achieve something very rare: to surpass some of the main entries. And the only way to do this is by caring about the brand, treating it the way it deserves, and adding mechanics the way they should be added.

Of course, it is not a game suitable for sensitive hearts because, excuse the expression, it hurts more than a kick down there. Noire with Sherlock Holmes, Frogwares gives us a game that blends private investigation, shooting and narrative into a believable world that is immersive and molded by our decisions, making us feel the true protagonist of the adventure.

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is a perfect remake of the classic game that put a smile on a ton of players' faces. While adapted to the current times thanks to a beautiful visual design, Beenox manages to pull off what should be one of the most fun games of the year.

Outer Wilds is one of the greatest surprises we have received. A game that mixes exploration with a Groundhog Day-like scheme and a charismatic narrative to give, as a result, something truly unique. A hidden gem that everyone should try.

Elsweyr is another great chapter for The Elder Scrolls Online. It doesn’t include anything revolutionary, but with the new Necromancer and the Elsweyr map it’s more than enough to keep ESO’s fans entertained for more than a dozen hours.

Castlevania Anniversary Collection offers almost a dozen awesome games in just one pack. However, these are just ports to modern platforms and, if you compare Konami’s work with what other franchises like Crash bandicoot, Spyro or Resident Evil have achieved with their remakes, Castlevania just falls behind.

Cadence of Hyrule is an ingenious crossover that shows that the saga of The Legend of Zelda still has a lot to say. Its musical mechanics inherited from Crypt of the Necrodancer and the wonderful folklore of the Nintendo franchise combine perfectly to create an unrepeatable experience.

Effie is worth more for its artistic value than its ‘product’ value because, even if it feels like a true adventure with good puzzles, platforms and aesthetics, it doesn’t have the same quality in terms of gameplay and content, reducing its proposal to a bad game, but a good experience.

MotoGP 19 is really outstanding in everything that has to do with the gameplay, reaching a high level of simulation, but is hard to explain how the game modes are so simple and poorly designed.

Saladin’s Conquest offers an interesting and accurate campaign, however, in terms of gameplay, the DLC lacks the amount of content needed to be recommended, especially when its price enters the equation.

Void Bastards is a fun and fresh mix between classic first-person shooter and modern roguelikes. Focusing on giving the player more problems than punishments, Blue Manchu has crafted a game that is fun from the beginning to the end. Furthermore, its aesthetics and graphics are simply gorgeous. One of the greatest surprises of 2019 so far.

Observation is a sci-fi thriller that knows exactly how to build a story around its characters and brings something new to its genre thanks to the atmosphere that surrounds the spacial station. The tension never leaves the player and it’s part of the essence of the game.

Koral is a video game of exploration and puzzles that deals with the love of water. The title brilliantly manages to be a unique experience accessible to everyone, not only for its bizarre development on a sailboat in the sea itself, but for its invitation from the playable and mechanical level. Everyone will be able to participate and enjoy this particular submarine odyssey.

A Plague Tale: Innocence is a well crafted, classic adventure that offers a solid story with charismatic characters. However, it all goes wrong during the final chapters, when the game loses its head, the story becomes violent nonsense and the gameplay turns out to be highly frustrating.

Weedcraft Inc is a good management sim, but fails to deliver a message, for or against, about marijuana and its social and economical consequences. A lost chance that could have been way more than just a good game.

Descenders is a fun and challenging mix between arcade and roguelike genders with freeride as the perfect excuse. High speed, risky tricks and an infinite amount of procedural tracks are the pillars of one of the best surprises of 2019 so far.

RAGE 2 is an honest game, a true ode to brainless action that doesn’t want or need to be perfect. Avalanche Studios and id Software have crafted a game that’s funny from the beginning to the end thanks to an awesome gameplay and an open world full of things to do.

The legend of heroes: trails of cold steel is a Japanese role video-game with a really complete story, a deep combat system and an everlasting soundtrack. It’s a perfect opportunity to get into the Nioh Falcom universe but if it’s your first time it can be confusing because of its difficult items. This is the best version to enjoy this experience in 60 fps with 4K resolution and all the additional DLC lately released like the Japanese dubbing.

Sadly, Days Gone ends up as a failure regarding the attempt at creating one of the best survival games on the market. Despite the fact that it is a fun game, it has far too many errors to be considered a must-have title. The story is inconsistent, the missions tend to become repetitive and there are plenty of problems in stability as well as bugs that, in essence, make this one of the weakest exclusive games to be found on the PlayStation 4.

Mortal Kombat 11 is a major improvement for the franchise in all of its departments. The story mode is both appealing and fun for the player, and the fights are much closer than they used to be. It is, indeed, a delightful experience for the fighting game aficionado.

Super Dragon Ball Heroes: World Mission is a real treat for the longtime fans of Dragon Ball, but it is even more than that. It is a profound strategy game that will take up a good number of hours to master, but in the end it will all be part of a delightful effort.

Darksiders Warmastered Edition is a great game with elements of exploration and puzzles. His artistic design is based on Christian mythology and is really amazing, with good characters and a complete story. Some elements look old but it’s still a very funny hack and slash. It does not have many new features for veteran players, but if you are new to the franchise it is the best way to enter it.

The Walking Dead: The Final Season is a true gift that really allows for a proper goodbye to Clementine after a journey that went on for many years. A chance to enjoy one last time the legacy given to us by the already extinct Telltale Games.

Tropico 6 is a safe bet. A sequel that has almost no innovations but manages to feel fresh and funny from the start. El Presidente is back, as good as he has ever been.

Assassin’s Creed III Remastered is a worthy opportunity to revisit one of the most undervalued games in the series. Despite its imperfections, the world that Ubisoft created 7 years ago manages to preserve its magic. An experience that has been reinforced by a set of technical and playable improvements that accompany this new version.

Beat Cop is a game that shines as bright as it can on Nintendo Switch. Sadly, some flaws from the original version still remain and make it difficult to enjoy the game, even though its mechanics and narrative are really good.

Yoshi’s Crafted World does not provide any kind of new experience, but it brings all of the fun, entertainment and passion that were present in old platformers in a whole new style. In all, a delightful adventure.

Unravel Two lands on Nintendo Switch with the same magic it had a year ago. A beautiful game that believes in itself to offer a great coop experience with really inspired artistic and level design.

The Division 2 earns a spot among the best games of 2019. The game keeps all of the fundamental aspects of the first entry while improving each and every one of them.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is undoubtedly one of the best video games of 2019 and perhaps of the entire generation...Sekiro is the next step by FromSoftware, a game that brings about a ‘new land’ in-between Dark Souls and Bloodborne, and that is both original and accesible without giving away its natural essence. A new masterpiece by Miyazaki which is a must-have for any gamer.

The Red Strings Club lands on Nintendo Switch offering an experience worthy of the one that was originally released on PC. An adventure whose clearly reflective intentions build intense moral debates for the player through charismatic and unforgettable characters.

One Piece: World Seeker does not manage to meet the expectations built on its several showings. Instead, we are presented with a conventional open-world game that in spite of having a nice story, it is lacking in most of all the other aspects.

Kirby’s Extra Epic Yarn does not manage to improve as much as it was expected but, at the same time, it still is in optimal conditions and provides a slight upgrade on its visuals. Furthermore, it is a delightful experience on the Nintendo 3DS.

Massira is a title that tries to reflect the experiences of the Syrian refugees. A risky bet due to the complexity of the message, which has been deployed efficiently despite an unrefined control system and thanks to well-chosen playable mechanics.

We’d like to comment that Fimbul is a game that in spite of its problems it still is a recommendable one. However, it has also been a very frustrating experience.

The LEGO Movie 2 Videogame opts for a simplification of each and everyone of the elements that define the basic formula of the franchise. All with the aim of becoming a more accessible experience for all audiences. Something that is the greatest virtue and at the same time the biggest defect of the game.

Trials Rising offers an exhilarating experience that is based on an unbeatable control system and achieves a good balance between frustration and rewarding moments. As the biggest title of the franchise, it manages to build an addictive proposal that would be better not to miss.

Unruly Heroes takes the best part of Rayman Legends and adds a few new features to deliver an entertaining, original and fresh experience from the beginning to the end. One of the biggest surprises that exceeds every expectation.

Anthem is a game with a superb gameplay that fails in delivering an entertaining experience due to a campaign with no flow, a heartless story and repetitive missions, even in the endgame. Anthem clearly needs months or even years of polishing and content to be what it wanted to be at first.

A demanding title that arrives somewhat late but surprises the old school players.

BlazBlue: Central Fiction Special Edition is a very complete fighting game with multiple single-player game modes and an elaborate combat system. This version does not have many new features but the portable mode is a big enough reason to recommend it. A great sample from the best of the fighting genre for your Nintendo Switch.

Intruders: Hide and Seek offers an experience whose most attractive points lie on the shoulders of its characters and a fine balance between the way it uses the tension and the narration of the plot. The story is told in a fluid way, respecting the intelligence of the player in order to let him be the one who is in charge of connecting the dots to solve the mystery behind the game.

Crackdown 3 has really tried to take it to the next level. However, in the end it’ll only manage to convince those who already are followers of the franchise. The game is too plain, and it also consists of a multiplayer mode that, as of right now, feels like it is in its early stages.
