Zen Pinball looks and sounds very authentic, taking everything that makes one of gaming's oldest traditions so much fun and successfully translating it into virtual form, all wrapped in a neat, tight package.- AceGamez

Having spent many hours playing Killing Floor, I am delighted to report that it's really, really enjoyable - sometimes even more so than the amazing Left 4 Dead.- AceGamez

There are some minor problems; the graphics are debatable and the size of the game means you can often loose track of what's happening. On the other hand, if you love realistic, complex and thorough space-based real time strategies, purchase this game right now as it is an aspiring space commander's dream.- AceGamez

It's far from perfect, but it's still a great choice for RPG fans to grind through this summer, especially those who are looking for a more sociable gaming experience.- AceGamez

Plants vs Zombies is what casual gaming is really all about; it's intuitive, easy to start and stop at any time, and has a tremendous variety of gameplay modes.- AceGamez

It plays like it was put together by confused adolescents with broken fingers and no concept of reality. It's buggy, broken, stupid and about as far from funny as a game that's based on a comedic film could possibly be.- AceGamez

Some players might find themselves a bit miffed that the end of the game was essentially changed - or removed, rather, considering it now has no definite ending - but the fairly large amount of extra content added, as well as the overall change of mood throughout the Wasteland and the replay value presented, should be enough to keep gamers satisfied after dropping a mere 800 points.- AceGamez

Elite Forces: Unit 77 has a fun story and features some great map design, but it's dragged right down by the fiddly controls; if a smoother system was in place then it would have been a much more eventful and enjoyable game.- AceGamez

When it all comes together and just works the challenges Theatre of War 2 provides can be exhilarating to overcome, the battles can often awe you with their scale and sense of achievement as you guide your motley crew of familiar soldiers through each mission is a reward in itself.- AceGamez

I highly recommend trying out the demo to see if you can live with this flaw before making a decision; Cogs still deserves our respect for creating an unusual and very well thought out puzzle game, but sadly the restrictions of its chosen medium gets the better of the gameplay at times.- AceGamez

I have very rarely enjoyed an arcade game as much as I enjoyed FLOCK! - it's cute, enjoyable, original, funny, quirky and a little bizarre.- AceGamez

The Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena is a great game. It has a few bumps and is a bit rough round the edges in terms of visually uninspiring environments and a ropey multiplayer mode, but its stealthy single player gameplay and combat are both wonderfully well executed.- AceGamez

The Godfather II doesn't quite live up to the film upon which it is based, but the experience it delivers is much more enjoyable than I expected.- AceGamez

Certainly it isn't with regards to single player content that just doesn't really justify the added expense when there are already plenty more varied single player missions available to you in the cheaper main game and its first expansion, but if your focus is multiplayer then the choice is a little clearer - and with three new game modes generously included, anyone with more interest in the online aspect will surely find Tales of Valor a lot more tempting.- AceGamez

I'm sure that there are excellent and enjoyable visual novels out there, ones that handle character with subtlety, story with passion, and don't treat the reader like an uninitiated idiot - but Lux-Pain isn't one of them.- AceGamez

Burn Zombie Bun isn't big and it isn't clever, but this sums up the whole concept of a game centred around a zombie apocalypse and the developer knows it.- AceGamez

At the end of the day though, you have to applaud THQ for going so wholeheartedly after such a specific demographic; SvR players probably won't like it but that doesn't matter, because they don't need it. They have their wrestling game, and now, thanks to THQ, us oldies have ours. It may be far from perfect but I'll be damned if it isn't fun.- AceGamez

There's little more that can be said without ruining the fantastic story and the events within this latest expansion to the game's ever growing universe, but it stands that The Pitt is an absolute must buy for anyone who enjoyed Fallout 3 and a smashing return to form from Bethesda after their first lukewarm offering in Operation Anchorage.- AceGamez

Rune Factory is a classic example of a game that has bitten off more than it can chew. It tries its best to offer freeform, open-ended gameplay but only manages to provide an increased number of choices to the limited 'kill all enemies' mantra.- AceGamez

It's sometimes strange to consider how quickly the two main performers in the world of football videogames have changed their styles. FIFA is now the American Smooth of the genre, classic, elaborate and elegant, while PES is like a Cha Cha Cha; faster and livelier but also seen as somewhat outdated.- AceGamez

Not only is Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure a classic original game (that's sure to become a franchise if it attains the success that it so rightfully deserves) but it's one that combines platforming and puzzling in an ingenious fashion, making it a real breath of fresh air in the stale atmosphere of endless casual game derivatives and shovelware that continues to plague the DS.- AceGamez

Throwing in the massively upgraded engine, which makes the game look even more luscious than before the game could hardly be better, and with music that suits both the period and manages to be both pleasant and doesn't distract from the game, this can only be hailed as a massive success.- AceGamez

The gorgeous graphics, the superb sound, the great (if sometimes twitchy) AI of your partner and the jaw-dropping gameplay take everything that was brilliant about Resident Evil 4 and ramp it up to the next level, making for one of the best gaming experiences ever!- AceGamez

Zubo is an entertaining rhythm-based game that manages to fuse several genres in an intelligent way whilst maintaining an easy to play approach. It is an ideal game to start with for youngsters who want to try a role playing game whilst at the same time there is just enough within to keep the rest of us adults playing it.- AceGamez

In the context of other PS3 first person shooters, Killzone 2 serves as the ideal compatriot to Resistance 2, providing us with a more grown up - and arguably more polished - experience, as well as spoiling us rotten with yet more multiplayer goodness. Once you get past the graphics-induced shellshock and push the underwhelming plot to the back of your mind, there is a worthy first person shooter that simply demands to be played.- AceGamez

Despite initial reservations, Ceville charmed me more than I usually like to admit. It is the obvious result of a team who truly love what they are doing and who are determined to make new and interesting gaming content for us. The witty and eloquent writing style and the consistently top-notch humour turn this little title into a gaming gem.- AceGamez

If you're the type of gamer who still has fond memories of the 8- and 16-bit era, plays a broad range of genres and doesn't scoff at the idea of playing non-triple-A games then Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard is an absolute blast - pun intended.- AceGamez

With a bit more experience, and a little more know how, Stoked could have been an enjoyable diversion, as it is, it's a broken, twisted shambles, best left out on a bare mountainside without a jumper.- AceGamez

It’s SR2, but with more awesomeness. It’s still cute, it’s still funny, and chances are now you can even run it on your netbook. If you think you might like it, chances are, you’ll love it. You’d be missing out otherwise.- AceGamez

50 Cent: Blood on the Sands is a really good, solid action game. It's silly, exciting and channels the best aspects of some of the 360's favourite hardcore shooters into some brainless arcade fun.- AceGamez

It's a somewhat short game but there's a great amount of replay value and it is one hell of a ride a from start to finish.- AceGamez

The customisation options add depth and variety for those players willing to invest the time, and the immense, sprawling storyline will keep you playing for literally weeks, with the fact that it's a prequel surely giving fans of the series even more reason to play it to completion.- AceGamez

- Critic Score
The idea is nice but the execution is lacking - that's not a bad summary for Chop Till You Drop as a whole, an experience that could have been much better than it is. As it stands, Capcom's latest Wii port is the worst of the bunch, a substandard experience that just doesn't hold up to modern standards, let alone those of the series itself.- AceGamez

Dawn of War 2's greatest accolade is something that it actually does share in common with its predecessor; it's a game that once again takes the Warhammer 40,000 license and does something truly great with it. As for the rest, time will tell if Relic's gamble pays off or not.- AceGamez

The bottom line is that you won't find another modern fighting game out there that looks and plays like Street Fighter IV, nor one that has stayed so true to itself yet kept up with the mainstream after twenty years. Welcome back Street Fighter - we've missed you!- AceGamez

Street Fighter IV is the greatest fighting game ever created. Only Capcom can do this kind of thing with this much flair; it's a game that will definitely create a massive online community and, unless there's some kind of apocalypse, it'll thrive for a very long time indeed.- AceGamez

While the game is only six levels long, equating to about two to three hours of gameplay if you don't rush, Flower is well worth the money and you'll find yourself coming back just to go through the same levels over and over again.- AceGamez

Despite the lack of evolution, I had a great time with LocoRoco 2. It's an improvement upon the original by most measures; bigger, better and more bad-ass, you might say, sacrilegious as it seems to apply Cliff Bleszinski's sales pitch to this sugary treat, but where Gears of War 2 delivered on its outlandish promises, LocoRoco 2 proves decidedly lacking.- AceGamez

House of the Dead: Overkill is definitely something to do any day, cold and rainy or not; it's an extremely entertaining, light-hearted, pick up and play shooter.- AceGamez

The Battle of Argus is reasonably entertaining in short doses, but there's nothing revolutionary or truly engaging to keep you coming back for more - it's just a competent port of an old PS2 game whose mechanics and design are really showing their age.- AceGamez

The short answer to this question is: not very good. Even if you absolutely love Fallout 3, Operation Anchorage is barely worth a purchase, because all you're getting for your ten dollars is a two to three hour experience of minimal challenge that forsakes the best features of the game to provide a simple, dull, FPS-style quest. leaving a dull FPS-style mission behind.- AceGamez

MLB Front Office Manager is a game with a lot of potential, as demonstrated by the thoughtful inclusions of thirty-player online leagues and a fantasy league. However, its admittedly slick interface is maddening in terms of design, resulting in a game that's extremely hard to play because it takes far too much effort just to accomplish one simple thing, quickly sapping you of the will to continue.- AceGamez

I can see what SI Games and SEGA have set out to achieve with Football Manager Live and while it doesn't quite line up with the idealistic images that I had in my head when dreaming of a football management sim that could be played online, it has come up with a really impressive massive multiplayer debut.- AceGamez

What The Lord of the Rings: Conquest boils down to is a third person action fantasy game with small glimmers of tactical depth and the occasional epic confrontation that just happens to be set in Tolkien's universe.- AceGamez
-
- Critic Score
Fans of the series will appreciate the fan service and authenticity, while Battlefront fans will enjoy the stopgap that Conquest provides until Battlefront III is finally released. For everyone else, the buggy gameplay, mixed presentation and repetitive action will be more than enough to turn your attention towards greener pastures, especially given the huge array of triple-A classics you still need to catch up on from last year's glut of winter releases.- AceGamez

There's some limited fun to be had with The Lord of the Rings: Conquest, and there are even times when the great game it could have been almost shine through, but plagued with such gaping flaws and wasted potential, the small amount of enjoyment that you might be able to gain never seems to justify the time you spend trying to discover it.- AceGamez

The release of Peggle, and of course, Plants vs. Zombies, demonstrates that they can cater to gamers of all types, but releases like the Mystery P.I. series leave a bit of a sour taste in the mouth and will offer little enjoyment beyond the non-gamers who might find a pleasant but short-lived distraction here.- AceGamez
