Winter Sports 2009: The Next Challenge is a budget title in every sense of the word. While the cheap price point and promise of numerous events may entice some gamers to give it a go, the repetitive and frustrating control scheme, the complete omission of online gameplay and overall lack of polish will turn most people off before long.

Fun, frantic, fresh, innovative, stylish and addictive, Left 4 Dead is a game that you will enjoy when playing alone and fall in love with when playing with friends. The Spore Creepy & Cute Parts Pack is exactly what its titles suggests; it in no way expands the main game but simply offers you more cosmetic options when it comes to creating the creatures that populate your evolving civilization. It's overpriced, but it still offers a reasonable amount of appealing new content for the Creature Creator and so is worth the investment if that's an aspect of Spore that you really enjoy.

High quality presentation isn't enough to save Nikopol: Secrets of the Immortals from its own shortcomings though and ultimately it isn't going to turn many heads.

Regardless of whether you're playing single or multiplayer, the game modes in Multiwinia: Survival of the Flattest are well thought out and extremely good fun, even though they will confound you beyond belief should you be a newcomer to the series or, like me, not exactly the best strategist in the world.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is flawed, cursed with anti-climaxes and a sprinkling of disappointment. It's not the game we all hoped it was going to be, it doesn't reinvent anything, it's certainly not original and the main tenant upon which its sold - that you can 'kick ass with the force' - is often forgotten in favour of tedium and annoyance.

The core concept of Line Rider 2: Unbound is solid and, for the patient among you, can provide hours of absorbing fun; however, the trial and error nature of the gameplay and some dubious collision detection in certain situations are enough to spoil the enjoyment on a far too regular basis.
