   One of the best games to the series and an All-time Classic. Also, the last Decent Fallout Game!

   This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Pitt is the third DLC I played after Operation Anchorage and Broken Steel and what I really liked the moment I started it is the fact how different that part of Fallout 3 world looked. You find yourself in a world full of red and orange colors - the colors of burning tires and sunlight that barely manages to make its way through thick clouds of smog produced by towering smog pipes of the nearest factory. It is a great change of scenery compared to the dull grey and green palette of the Capital Wasteland which looks and feels exactly like a typucal post-apocalyptic world while The Pitt is more about a city being destroyed not with an atomic blast but with riots the atomic blast caused.
   
   Do you know what I liked the most and what this DLC brought to the table no other DLC did? It gave you the chance to prove at least for yourself that you can do something even without your power armor and Gauss riffle. Look, by the time I got to The Pitt I have already walked the grounds of Capital Wasteland for about 60 hours - it is obvious that by that time I was almost an unstoppable armed to the teeth force with a supermutant equipped with a Gatling laser by my side. Before entering The Pitt I was asked to leave my friend behind to not attract unnecessary attention and a little bit later into the game I had to give up all my assets so eventually I found myself among the very slaves I came to free (thanks God it all was a part of the plan). It was a fun experience simultaneously being a hero in Capital Wasteland, be the person who finished the Enclave, who is the one who almost singlehandedly cleared the whole Capital Wasteland of supermutants, ferral ghouls and raiders and at the same time to be there imprisoned, doing hard labour and not be able to stand up for myself - it was kind of sobering in its own way. At times I couldn't believe I agreed to do all of it. "What if I never make it back?" - I thought to myself. Of course eventually everything worked out as planned and people of The Pitt got their chance to start new lives. Also I proved for myself that my ascend to a walking powerhouse wasn't a fluke and that my true power is inside me.
   
   Eventually I got out of The Pitt with some real feeling of satisfaction not many quests were able to provide me.… Expand

   Conceptually, there's not enough new meat here to warrant a separate buy. I'm trying to look from the developer as well as the business side because it's that combination that users actually perceive in their analysis of quality nowadays. We all love Bethesda without a doubt, but they're no 2K or Source team in so far as dystopian sci fi adventure writing goes and it's really overdue they bump up their technology a bit. A good engine would help them greatly. The Pitt is good proof of my meaning - while it would have made a super part of the FO3 world we bought for $50, it is ultimately lonely and tired by itself for $10 one full year later. That sort of poor business thinking reflects back on the creative team. Developers and gaming scriptwriters really must learn how to edit our storylines better - we no longer have the liberty of allowing the marketing bosses " to take care of that" anymore because they will do so and the result will be degraded art like FO3's The Pitt which should have never existed on its own. ISFA Bethesda's business decision to distribute the FO3 mods via MGWL exclusively ~ a move which defied reason unless it was Bethesda's goal to alienate their fans ~ I wouldn't recommend that strategy again. I sense Steam may have served all parties far better. Steam live and breathe pc gaming and understand this tiny but wonderful corner of the entertainment industry better than any generic mass marketing distributor.… Expand

   This DLC is essentially the opposite of DLC: Operation Anchorage. You get a nice main quest with role-playing elements and a small but This DLC is essentially the opposite of DLC: Operation Anchorage. You get a nice main quest with role-playing elements and a small but interesting area to explore at will. Its impact on the main game is less significant, though you receive some rather useful Perks and items including silenced assault rifles - which are just very nice to have. While the main quest can be done in 3-4 hours, the explorable area adds another few hours of gameplay meaning it can take several days to finish (as opposed to Operation Anchorage). I would say it is definitely worth it.… Expand

   I enjoyed this dlc. You have decisions to make, nice new locations, some characters, new atmosphere, more industrial. You can finish it in 2-3I enjoyed this dlc.    Not much fun, slow, and more of the same. It's not a lot different than the rest of the game, more to shoot, less freedom. I bought the gameNot much fun, slow, and more of the same. (Maybe worth The Brotherhood of Steel)… Expand
