I have some difficulty calling it a role-playing game at all; there are no side missions available and there's no real sense of wonder to sweeten the generally bitter experience of playing through it. The story is incoherent, the graphics are outdated and the battle system, the most important feature of the entire game, is also extremely boring.- AceGamez

Although not all of the DS's features are utilised (mainly the touch screen), the challenging gameplay and DS download function more than make up for this.- AceGamez

I can't see many people playing this again after the initial play-through either, unless they really enjoy getting every last piece of clothing and food.- AceGamez

House of the Dead 2 is a frustrating game that's best forgotten and whilst House of the Dead 3 is definitely an improvement, it's still nowhere near as good as The Umbrella Chronicles.- AceGamez

If you're a clubber or even have a mild interest in mixing some tunes then this is surely worth a few hours of your time.- AceGamez

Excellent implementation of an intuitive control system, an engaging storyline and the many tactical differences between the three factions on offer all add up to make Universe at War: Earth Assault a fairly good game.- AceGamez

FUEL is a huge game in every sense of the word, but all too often the quality just can't match the quantity.- AceGamez

Whilst The Last Remnant is a fairly capable JRPG and will provide many hours of fun, you are still left feeling as though something is missing.- AceGamez

Like a detective novel it can be predictable at times, but the fun of the game isn't from being surprised by whatever the story uncovers; it's from working out the mystery yourself.- AceGamez

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End wasn't the most exciting movie. It was good, but it did have parts where I wished it would move on quicker. The At World's End game had me feeling the same way. There are action-packed parts, but other parts are pretty boring.- AceGamez

As far as city-building and resource management games go, The Settlers: Rise of an Empire is one of the best around.- AceGamez

I would like nothing better than to stamp My Frogger: Toy Trials with a must-have recommendation, because it does contain a number of creative game concepts and gameplay that is generally fun and rewarding, but in all honesty I can't go quite that far with my praise due to the often frustrating trial-and-error level design and tricky, counter-instinctive control scheme.- AceGamez

Star Trek Online can be considered an impressive piece of fan service but, as a game, is a disappointingly unimaginative and shallow example of the MMO genre with severely flawed, poorly thought out mechanics that do little to draw players away from the powerful embrace of WoW.- AceGamez

I've been playing it for a few weeks now and can definitely report that it's the most accurate golf sim on the market to date.- AceGamez

People who are looking for a fast sports game can't go wrong with this, but those wanting to upgrade might want to rent it first to see if it's worth their hard earned pennies.- AceGamez
-
- Critic Score
It contains some well-crafted elements, while the refined and altogether very usable MCC system makes controlling three characters a breeze, yet still manages to retain an incredible amount of depth, thus scaling exceptionally well with player ability.- AceGamez

The graphics, presentation and most of the gameplay is straight from the previous game, making this a decent card battler with a fairly limited navigation system thrown in.- AceGamez

A solid survival horror game that takes the classic formula and adds a couple of cool innovations. It's more of an upgrade than an evolution, but the American high school setting feels fresh and is very well put together, with smooth graphics, a nice balance of shooting and exploration and a story that, while very generic, just about holds your attention.- AceGamez

It's fast-paced, over the top and easy to pick up, but damn difficult to put down.- AceGamez

Although clearly a budget game, it is packed to the gills with quality, features and, more importantly, style.- AceGamez

While the graphics and the sound may not be up to par with other games in today's market, the gameplay isn't so bad if you can find space in your little card-playing heart.- AceGamez

This is one Grand Adventure that you don't want to miss if you're a One Piece fanatic, and even if you're not, there's certainly more than enough pick up and playability to warrant a rental or purchase.- AceGamez

I'm disappointed at the lack of defining complexities that grace every Sim game that appears on the PC platform. It's almost insulting - console users aren't dumb, we can handle some dimension!- AceGamez

The best advice i can give is to trust your own instincts: even after reading this, if the concept and setting still appeal to you, definitely give it a chance. Just don't expect to feel the same way when it's over.- AceGamez

While hardly resembling the game that could do not wrong from my childhood, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Classic Arcade Game still stands as an enjoyable piece of Eighties gaming lore, but without a warm jacket of nostalgic feelings it will appear outdated and boring, lacking present day sensibilities.- AceGamez

Point Blank DS's only minor drawback is that its play modes are all essentially the same thing hidden behind different premises that really aren't any different and because of this the gameplay doesn't hold up for extended play sessions.- AceGamez

A fantastic action-platformer that, despite a few technical hitches and minor camera problems, delivers well over ten hours of 3D Pac-Man goodness.- AceGamez

It just doesn't have that extra degree of enjoyable gameplay, innovation, audiovisual nuances and addictiveness to make it a serious contender in what is now a very saturated and cutthroat gaming genre.- AceGamez

Robotron 2084 is true to the original and many regard that as one of the best games ever made - but with most other retro games offering some sort of overhauled main mode and the classic alongside it, recommending this is hard for players who simply want more then a port.- AceGamez

It has enough depth to satisfy staunch fans of the sport but doesn't quite deliver the depth and fluidity needed to have NHL fans salivating.- AceGamez

If you’re a huge fan of anything AvP then it’s sure to be a definite “Yes”, as the game pays the kind of homage to the franchise you might expect it would. If, on the other hand, you’re a devotee of one or more of its’ many components – Aliens, Predators, sci-fi or first-person-shooters – then you’ll need to give the decision much more serious consideration.- AceGamez

The game is a lot of fun, makes great use of the license, will definitely appeal to the children (although the aiming system will be a bit hard on them at first) and is even enjoyable for older gamers out there who want a light-hearted platform adventure with an enjoyable story, setting and concept.- AceGamez

Quantum of Solace really feels like a Bond game, combining elements from both of the recent movies and using tried and tested gameplay mechanics to create a fun (if flawed) shooter experience. It's not going to win any awards and it isn't likely to attract new fans to either 007 or the FPS genre, but it's very likeable, entirely inoffensive and highly playable.- AceGamez

There are things like loading times that can annoy from time to time, and the graphical blurs can be a pain, but the amount of gameplay and content here is fantastic, and to be able to customise your house's interior on the move in full 3D really does appeal.- AceGamez

The Pinky and the Brain mini games are hilarious and break up the action, and while the story is almost none existent there is an overall goal to find all the Edgars and really that's all a small mind needs to be burdened with.- AceGamez

Certain later levels are enjoyable, as is the final boss fight. Diehard fans of the platforming genre will undoubtedly enjoy Brave more than the rest of us, but even for them, a shoddy camera and frustratingly designed levels near the end will put a damper on the overall experience.- AceGamez

The short answer to this question is: not very good. Even if you absolutely love Fallout 3, Operation Anchorage is barely worth a purchase, because all you're getting for your ten dollars is a two to three hour experience of minimal challenge that forsakes the best features of the game to provide a simple, dull, FPS-style quest. leaving a dull FPS-style mission behind.- AceGamez

Another six months in development and a little play-testing would have done Opoona the world of good - and from the inconsequential whimper of its arrival at retail, the wait could hardly have hurt - but as it stands, this is an able RPG that's brought down by some questionable design decisions.- AceGamez

Not as sophisticated as many Xbox 360 games out there, Crash of the Titans is, at the end of that day, a scrolling platformer. It doesn't need to be sophisticated - it needs to be fun, frantic, colourful, noisy, winsome and comical, which is exactly what it manages to be.- AceGamez

The overall package is no better than the original and in that regard it is actually more disappointing, since we already know how well the PSP can deliver on graphics and controls in this setting, and there are better role-playing games available for the PSP that you'd be wiser to spend your money on than this.- AceGamez

Sure, it's easy to pick up and play, the graphics and sound are just about passable and there's a decent range of weapons, but if I had gone out and bought it I'd feel somewhat cheated as I played the first mission, only to find that there's very little new here.- AceGamez

If I may return to the slightly clumsy sandwich-based analogy that I began with, Fallout 3 DLC is like a BLT made with the driest bread possible; the best way to enjoy your sandwich is to throw the bread away and enjoy the flavoursome bacon, fresh lettuce and juicy tomato on their own. So forget about the stale crust that is Fallout 3: Mothership Zeta - take an Atkins diet approach and just head straight for the filling.- AceGamez

This is the first time that the MotoGP licence has been in the hands of Capcom as publishers and Milestone as developers. The result is a solid game that doesn't really improve on last year's offering. By setting its sights on accessibility, MotoGP 08 seems to lose its focus on who it's for and ends up providing something for everyone but not everything for anyone.- AceGamez

It isn't a particularly intense game and doesn't make use of all of the platform's capabilities. However, if you come at Digging Strike expecting much of the same gameplay elements that made the original Dig Dug such a popular title, then Digging Strike will be right up your alley.- AceGamez

Juiced: Eliminator should be fun to play, but it isn't. Maybe it's the fact that you can't corner without crashing, maybe it's the fact you can't bang your car more than twice without causing serious damage and thus rendering your car useless, maybe it's the fact that once you are overtaken you will never ever catch up again, or maybe, just maybe, it's the fact that if you lose more than three races in career mode, you might as well just restart.- AceGamez
