Pool Party isn't pretty, it doesn't sound nice and it definitely isn't clever. Aside from the obvious fact that World Championship Snooker is the best cue-sports game around at the moment, not only do I genuinely believe that the original incarnation of Virtual Pool circa 1996 is infinitely better than this, I personally would rather be playing an online portable pool game such as Yahoo! Pool, which while only being 2D and top-down, plays a much truer game and is a lot more fun.

A Fallout-style, cyberpunk, post-apocalyptic story that's missing everything expected by any self-respecting RPG gamer. It's a fight to play this game and I don't see how the developer could miss out so many features that are key to a good RPG.

Far too linear for the average gamer, who will also be put off by the sometimes simplistic puzzles and lack of any real sense of adventure.

Mad Dog McCree is not a very good game at all. The stories of the three games are poorly thought out, the gameplay is frustrating, the graphics look ancient and the lifespan is poor to say the least.

Yes, it looks okay and, yes, it's just about competent, but with less-than-mediocre gameplay, no sense of speed, bad vehicle handling, lame power-ups and very limited modes, only a few samey racetracks and two naff mini-games, there's simply no reason for this piece of tat to exist.

More Game Party's box promises "all your favourite games" - but they aren't. It claims to be "The ultimate party game" - but it isn't.

This is a poor game in every sense of the word and even though there are a couple of points where the developers have tried to be different, even these look like they have simply been bolted on. This could have been an interesting title - but after playing it, all interest will sadly slip away very quickly.

Godzilla, Godzilla, Godzilla. How could you do this to yourself? Your gameplay - horrendous. Your graphics - atrocious. Your sound - there's sound? I can't stress enough how bad of a game, no, a poor excuse of a game, Godzilla Unleashed: Double Smash actually is. It is broken and much like Godzilla himself, will make children run in fear.

It's mindless, it's violent, with nothing but shooting and punching (no blood, but still violent), and repetitive in the extreme, making for a painfully boring waste of three hours of this reviewer's time. I dived on this grenade for you - don't let my sacrifice be in vain!

Kids aren't going to want to rescue the bad guys of the movie, kids want to explore the factory, swim in the chocolate lakes and hijack cars.

Buy the classic wooden blocks and spend the change on nachos and a beverage. Not only will you shell out half the money you'd otherwise waste on Jenga: World Tour but you will still have a soul afterwards and you might actually have a good time.

Game Party is one of those games that you will try your best to forget ever existed if you're unfortunate (or indeed stupid) enough to actually play it. All of the elements, from the god-awful controls to the disgusting character design, add up to create a game that no one should experience.

Trust me when I say that Stalin vs. Martians is an utter waste of your time and money - I played it for free and I still feel ripped off!

The longevity in single player is pitiful and only slightly better in multiplayer, but not by much, while the gameplay feels like a severely downgraded version of Burnout and the presentation is simply atrocious.

Beauty Factory is not a game for twelve-year-old girls. It is not a game for twenty-four-year-old men. It is a game for no one. It is not even a game; it is a brief, repetitive workout for the index finger of whichever hand you use your mouse with.

If you want a quick fix of Deal or No Deal on the go and you can overlook the dodgy graphics, the limited amount of Noel's speech and the fact it's just one five-minute game with some padding with the 'find the mug in the box' and Forfeit mode sections, then you'll enjoy this.

Forged from middleware obtained from the bowels of Hell, Anubis II is a game with only the cruelest and most heartless of intentions. If for some reason this game finds its way into your home, witness as it engages your children (or anyone else) in a swift moment of neutrality before it throws off its cloak and shows its true colors.

For the budget price, Blowout isn't a bad game, as it follows the rules of its genre very closely and, while offering little in the way of innovation, does at least feel like someone cared when they made it.

A mildly diverting 'classic' 2D platformer (strikingly similar to the PSOne title Pandemonium) that will appeal to the younger audience but there is little to recommend this game for the more discerning adult gamer.

The matches are either too long or too short and the questions are too serious to be cool.

For those who crave realism, I suggest waiting for the much-hyped "Rome: Total War," a game that if only half as good as promised will redefine the RTS scene.

An inventive, stylish, varied and highly entertaining game that puts all other TV cartoon conversions to shame.

Definitely one for gamers with a lot of patience and determination, but it's certainly refreshingly different enough to keep you hooked for a while - if you can get past the unfriendly difficulty curve and often frustrating gameplay that leads to replaying the same level over and over until you finally get it right.

Ice Age 2: The Meltdown is stunning in the way it looks and feels, but this is no more than you would expect when the film is essentially computer generated anyway.

And value for money is what best sums up Taito Legends 2. Like the first collection, this follow-up is just brimming with classic games of yesteryear, most of which still have as much simplistic gameplay appeal and charm as they did back in the day.

It kept my sisters entertained for a while - they enjoyed how it looked and they appreciated the voiceovers, plus little spontaneous things, such as receiving text messages, but after a while I'd imagine they'd get bored.

If you must bring elegance into your neighbourhood, or you must own every Sims release, or you have a partner who is crazy for Sims and you'd like to purchase them a reasonably priced gift, then The Sims 2 Glamour Life Stuff might fit the bill - but with so many snobs in real life, surely you'd be glad to escape them in the virtual life?

Fans of Cabela's console titles will find a game quite unlike their home version, in my opinion a change for the worse.

Xyanide Resurrection is not a good game to play by any stretch of the imagination and, unlike other games that I would gladly go back to time and again, this one was banished from my PSP the moment I had done my duty and reviewed it.

It's adequate. It's average. The graphics, sound and music are mediocre. The controls and gameplay aren't great. The online mode is empty, the video clips are good. Setting up strategies is sort of fun, playing the game sort of isn't.

As a tool for learning, Animal Genius doesn't have enough going for it to be considered viable. It lacks any sense of fun or enjoyment to tether the educational aspects in with the mini-games. Scholastic has released a half-hearted Educational Videogame that fails at both of the tasks it sets itself.

PopCap Hits! Vol 1 achieves everything that PopCap out to do with the likes of Bejeweled 2 and Astro Pop. They're very addictive games, yet their underlying concepts are so simple.

Mah Jong Quest Expeditions is so empty of challenge, intrigue or enjoyment that it can quite rightly be described as a hollow shell.

You can actually download better items on the Sims Item Exchange on the official site for free, where talented fans make new items for the sheer buzz of a little bit of praise and recognition and not for your pocket money, so if you're hankering for a house makeover then I suggest you look there instead.

Despite being simple, Death on the Nile sometimes lets you down by failing to register when you click on an item or not explaining clearly what it wants you to do when it tries to make things slightly more exciting by getting you to move objects around.

Pass the Pigs is a terrible premise for a handheld game and the entirely luck-based non-experience is so shallow that it's completely unrewarding.

Amazing Adventures: The Forgotten Ruins isn't particularly amazing and neither is it much of an adventure, but it is an inoffensive and quite absorbing little game of hide and seek that presents a simple premise with stylish and pleasant visuals, an appealing theme and a solid gameplay mechanic, at a modest price to boot.

The release of Peggle, and of course, Plants vs. Zombies, demonstrates that they can cater to gamers of all types, but releases like the Mystery P.I. series leave a bit of a sour taste in the mouth and will offer little enjoyment beyond the non-gamers who might find a pleasant but short-lived distraction here.

I’m saddened by this game as after being an avid lover of the DS version this just didn’t come close.

Overall Free Running has done something right in regards to ensuring you know what Le Parkour is all about. Unfortunately as an enjoyable experience Free Running hasn’t quite successfully transferred from the real world to the confines of the Wii.

If you’re the type that enjoys really wracking their brain for hours trying to solve fiendish puzzles, this is a title you may want to take a look at.

It’s SR2, but with more awesomeness. It’s still cute, it’s still funny, and chances are now you can even run it on your netbook. If you think you might like it, chances are, you’ll love it. You’d be missing out otherwise.

Whilst it would be easy to dismiss XIII outright for such foibles, it’d also be unfair. There is a good game in here, challenging, difficult and when it all goes right quite fulfilling but it remains a game that can only really be recommended to whose who already dabbled in the original XIII Century and are looking to continue where that game left off.

At just £2.39 Ice Road Truckers will provide you with a couple of hours of inexpensive and inoffensive racing fun, but while it’s certainly not a game that will leave you feeling cold it’s also not one that will give you Goosebumps either.

If you’re a fan of Qix-style games and need to chew up 30 minutes of your life, give it a shot. Otherwise, there’s plenty of other indie titles out there that are a better way to spend a bit of cash.

Megamind: The Blue Defender is a below than average attempt at a platformer.

All aspects of the gameplay have been done so much better in other film tie-ins, there aren't any hidden levels to explore or extra options to encourage you to play outside of the main game mode and you really can't be bothered to write down the passwords they give you in place of any decent save game function.

The main draw to Charlotte's Web is clearly its decently sized story mode and it absolutely delivers a fine family-friendly platforming romp for you and your kids to play and enjoy while it lasts. But once the story is long over it's the arcade mini-games that will keep you coming back for more.

This is one of those 'perfect for the kids' games you'll want to keep handy for road trips and such.

Even though a lot of the features aren't put together properly and the sound and graphics are all outdated, it does manage to entertain you along the way - especially if you can play this through with someone else, particularly a child.

Of course, the odd SpongeBob appearance and the odd wisecrack from Mr. Krabs makes up for the otherwise abysmal tasting Krabby Patty of a game, but unless you really have an itch for a Sponge game, this probably should be avoided.
