Recruit and attach Historical Commanders to your units. Detailed and realistic combat that models supply, morale, terrain, leadership, equipment, training, strategic weapons and fog of war. Easy to learn, hard to master game play that is the cornerstone of Slitherine game design. Multiplayer via e-mail, hotseat, Internet and including optional timed turns and 7 difficulty settings.     A deep and fun strategy game that shines in multiplayer. The only problem is that Commander feels very much like Strategic Command, but it is not quite as good. [Oct 2007]

    An excellent game for both hardcore strategy nuts and newcomers alike. An unassuming surface hides hours of ferociously addictive gameplay that's rivalled by few other titles.

    Great game, easy to learn but hard to beat at Higher AI levels. Only thing missing is a USSR vs western allies continuation of the game after Great game, easy to learn but hard to beat at Higher AI levels.     Solid combat system, very similar to Strategic Commander. Lack of a diplomacy system and special rules (East Europe, Spain...) ruins the Solid combat system, very similar to Strategic Commander.
