SiliBili HD also has a generally confusing interface, with few buttons with an obvious purpose. This is a game that had me intrigued as a 3D platformer was completely up my alley at the time, but its shortcomings, emblematic of a game that feels like it hasn't gotten that last 10% (or more) of tweaking and refinement that separates good idea from good games.

It's unfortunate that the control system does the one thing that Pony Trails doesn't want to invoke: stress the player out, as it's, otherwise, a quite serene journey. Snapping jackrabbits as they run past is oddly relaxing and it's nice to play a game that isn't as action-packed or as violent as many others.

I think it's an excellent title that has a lot to offer fans of the original Wii version. Like the games in the genre, the gameplay can be repetitive but I think there is enough challenge to keep players busy and wanting more.

It's a fun game to play for a short time, but the ever sinking feeling that more money needs to be invested, affects that urge to keep plugging away at it.

It's got some fairly questionable controls and a name that's kind of embarrassing to say out loud, but beyond that lies a robust RPG system of upgrades and leveling that practically carries the entire game by itself. Oddly enough it's the sort of thing that should appeal greatly to fans of dungeon crawlers and the like.

Asura Cross probably won't win over fighting game aficionados, and it's bizarre enough that it could turn away casual players, but fans of the quirky and weird should have a lot of fun with it. It's a bit rough around the edges, and my word is it stingy with the points, but it's still very much a strange journey worth taking.

Has a clever plot and some whimsical characters, but it lacks a lot in the important areas. While $0.99 isn't that much to pay for a game, players do expect some sort of return in the form of challenging gameplay and enough content to distract them for hours. Sadly, Beatdown! doesn't provide much in these two areas that will give players much of an ROI.

Lumigon isn't what I'd consider an absolute must have – except possibly for runner junkies – but it's a fun and worthwhile game that does things a little differently. Assuming people enjoy constant motion and dodging obstacles with a healthy dose of cute they should find plenty to enjoy.

For a Hidden Object game, The Secret Society – Hidden Mystery lacks significant challenge which is a shame. As a new concept though, I liked it.

It just seems that the battle mechanics could use a little tweaking before the next episode graces the App Store.

It's a great port/adaptation of a classic and is bound to please long time fans and newcomers alike.

Guide the Light isn't for the fainthearted. It's the perfect example of 'easy to learn, tough to master', but it is well designed to encourage players to persevere. Don't expect to fly through the 50 levels on offer, but do expect an appropriate challenge throughout.

Swashbuckler is a technically solid game that lacks a creative spark. It isn't bad. In fact it's not even mediocre. However, it isn't quite good enough to whole heartedly recommend.

This could have been a lot of fun, but the frustrations with the game kept me from getting engrossed like I should have in this stylish pixel art trial platformer.

The game is a relatively fun deathmatch title, though its technical issues and general lack of maps as well are a killer at the moment.

It's possible to keep grinding and progress, but there is a certain amount of repetition here. The early moments of Total Recoil are the most entertaining with it tough to reach such heights the longer one plays it. There's fun to be had, but eventually, those challenges will begin to grate.

It's entirely possible and even understandable for a player new to War of Words Apocalypse to think that they're just playing a slightly darker-looking version of a game they already have, but to simply dismiss it as such would be a huge mistake.

It's amazing how fresh a classic puzzle game can feel with a little change in perspective. Dream of Pixels successfully revitalizes one of the most popular styles of puzzle, turns it on its head, and changes the rules while still keeping everything familiar.

The sheer fact that spending money is at all tempting is a testament to Candy Crush Saga, however. It's a fun Match Three puzzler and refreshingly taxing at times.

Those willing to dive in to a tower defense game that's ready and willing to be deep should check it out as well. This is one of the best $2.99 (plus in-app purchases for currency) values on the App Store.

It's a very simple idea, but a good one. QatQi offers a different type of word game challenge, and flourishes for it. All the better for being free to download, and exceptionally easy to dive into for short or long sessions.

A really respectable freemium game. It's definitely possible to spend no money on it and still have an enjoyable experience. There is a ton of content included, too. From all of the missions to the numerous upgrades, the app can easily provide hours of entertainment.

Arranger is the kind of game I love based on concept, but not so much based on execution. It's a grand idea with lofty ambitions and deserves praise for trying something new, but it's going to need a lot more polish if it's ever going to be anything more than a quirky one-off.

The graphics and sound fit nicely into the world of Middle Earth. The music is soft and unobtrusive but adds a soothing element to the gameplay. I did notice some lag when scrolling in some portions of the game and it can sometimes take a while to load, but other than that I'd say it performs well.

The developers have done a good job at keeping this game free yet worthwhile at the same time.

Word Smack is an OK word game but it never rises above that. In a very competitive genre, it's not quite good enough to recommend over so many superior titles.

There are a lot of avatars and powerups to unlock, but that will probably require some real money. However, a purchase might be worth it if the game itself were more enjoyable.

Ninja Toss is what mobile gaming is all about. Its short burst gameplay is so addictive and fun that players will want to experience it again and again.
